Team, please setup an official donation adress for the bounty that will be paid to anyone finding the sender adress. I think, we should make it much more than 1 BTC to attract more ppl with the potential to crack it. I guess there are a lot of people willing to donate including me.

the big one should be left for rev2 the final product when its no longer about bug fixing but more as a promo gig, synechist will probably already have it planned,

synechist please leave chaep behind and concentrate on promotion, not worth the effort i hope everybody knows that by now.

Yes, I think the issue has now been laid to rest.

I felt it was worthwhile to work out exactly what Chaeplin had done and to explain it in plain English sentences, so that anyone with the patience to digest them can understand the case. Now that that's been done (and in the absence of a retort of some substance from Chaeplin), there's no further reason for the community to wonder about it. It's properly behind us now.

On to the next!

Thank you for the Summary you posted.  I now understand.  And correct on to the next big thing. Version 1.5 Tally-Ho.  Grin
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 14, 2014, 03:12:07 PM
[snip]

great summary, given the fact that he backed out of the newest challange for the multipath beta i think his intentions are clear now. but that doesn'T metter after all, the whole process helped XC finally but since that wasn't his personal intention  (rather the opposite) there is no need for a thank you or any kind of forgiving gesture either.

the status quo is this: the only guy who could find the sender with a method that wasn 100% fair play anyway can no longer find it now with REV1.5 !!!

the test is still running so i don't celebrate before the final wistle

Chaeplin's stated reason for not testing the new release is that he believes ATCSECURE did not acknowledge the hard link Chaeplin provided.

I think that we are obliged to give Chaeplin the benefit of the doubt here regarding his beliefs, since we have no proof of the contrary. If I were in his position and genuinely believed that I'd been hard done by, I'd also be unwilling to continue.

It's just unfortunate that he's mistaken in his belief. That's all it comes down to, in my opinion.

As an aside, I think it's a good idea to be gracious to one's opponents. It makes one a good sport. We gain nothing by being victorious and mean.

come on , he allwys kept going without bountys or any acknowledgement and the moment his method doesn't work anymore he plays the emotionally hurt? whatever. i also think its not the moment to confront him but i can understand some people can'T hold back right now.
just be happy for the achievments of the whole XC team.

well done boys.

You're right: we have no reason to believe that he's telling the truth. But what I mean is that we have no proof that he's not telling the truth, so it's better for us if we just accept his reasons.

Chaeplin reminds me of many of my co-workers. Believe tech and acknowledgement are his motives. In my mind he did xc a great favor and feel sad so many kids here feld the need to insult him.
Now go find someone with those skills willing to do the same work in a relative small circle.
a big bounty will bring them, together with a lot of publicity so there is now no more room for errors for the dev.

Thanks kids, for nothing!

I seem to remember that Chaeplin isn't a natural English speaker.  Why not ask him to post in his native language and have someone else translate it properly?  Just putting out suggestions out there.  I'm not trying to validate nor discredit  his claims or anything, but as a total outsider to blockchain analysis. I would like to understand his thinking seems just by looking at his posts he was really trying to make people understand that he found a loop hole.  Real or not should be left undecided until there is a clear understanding on what he is trying to say.

Again just trying to help clear all of this.

Is there any way we can get an update to more accurately reflect the estimated reward time for minting? Hours go by and it changes by a minute or two.

Here is a screen shot of my wallet that shows minting (Mined).   In my experience it is counted in Days (7-9 days) not hours. However please note this is based on my own experience.  What you see "Expected Time to earn reward" is actually bugged currently.  Or it actually means something else. I don't really know, but  based on the description of the coin it says 8 hours to 30 days.

Thanks!

May I ask approximately how much XC do you have for those returns?

about 98 coins. Don't have extra cash right now to invest that's mostly from mining.

Why ain't the wallet staking even with the update? Anyone else having this problem? No use of POS if nothing happens.

Cheers. Cool

Dude go back one page.

Basically if your first concern is the day-price, then you don't believe in the architecture like the rest of us, and so you can just be lumped in with the fudders, trolls, darkfans etc.  Some people saw what this project is going to achieve, full anon, secure and instant(ish) transfer of wealth,  and that is what started off the boom in price.  We have drawn almost unprecedented attention for a new coin, with at multiple times what looks like high level conspiracy against XC.

The godlike perception of the dev around here is caused by a general low level of respect for developers in crypto, itself caused by constant failures and/or the inability to adapt/control and grow... This time we all found a coin, with top-level design, and a dev who has never given us a legitimate cause for complaint and so naturally everyone is over the moon.

If you are only here because you saw ??% price-growth in a day, then you should probably get out... it may be quite a bumpy ride.  Anon money is bigger than people are admitting right now.  They say "country-coin, PoS, anon, it's just a new popular flavour".  That's bull, anon money changes everything.  All around the world people joke about how the only certain things in life are tax and death, well with anon transfers that won't necessarily be the case.  Right now you can be a druglord, warlord, Hitler, whatever you want... Your biggest problems will likely be finding someone to provide funding/launder your profits.  Governments aroung the world are saying "Bitcoin, we aren't banning it, but we are watching it."  Damn straight they are watching it - because anon money will just change the game.

stop running, if you see a big buy-wall climb right in.
B.t.w got my first PoS yesterday (+-8 days staking).   Cool
Thanks dev.
There are a LOT more options & market for anon than just criminals, maybe they will like it (not sure btw, there are hidden coins around for that) but also a regulair retailer needs to hide his volume from his competitors.

+1  its just a question of freedom, nobody wants to tell even their best friends how much they earn or hold in their accounts. if they hd the choice they will alwys pic the anon coin over the regular one just cause its an option , even normal people

+1  hell even I don't tell my own mother or wife my true income.  Call me paranoid but that's the way I was raised. Its pretty much taboo if you ask people their income.

haha

just watching the mintpal trade records,

two whale are fighting now....

just watch this...

big order put then cancel quickly Roll Eyes

I know this is a noob question but what can I say I am one.   Wouldn't it be better if buy orders or sell orders have a holding time and/or posting time before it gets cancelled?

Wouldnt that normalize the market a little?

The question is not specifically for "provenceday" I quoted his post since it what made me think about it.  Any Insights would be great.

Hi there Community.

Just want to add my 2 cents.  I'm in no way an expert but I'm probably closer to a novice. So I'm just basing it on what I see in my own wallet.

It seem that I'm getting stakes even with just my meager sum of XC (I mined a little late, when pools were just launching). What I noticed is that it averages around 10 days apart.  And it based coin maturity in your wallet and of course amount of mature coins.  As proof here is a screen shot of my transactions. As you would notice I got stakes in 9 days after my first coins arrived (5/11 - first coins show up, 5/20 first stake coins show up)

So now I'm waiting for June 9-11 to see if my idea is correct.  Also note that my wallet is open on erratic times since its hosted on my personal home PC.  On Weekends I can have it open more than 24 hours, but on weekdays just a few hours a day.

Hope this post help people be at peace with the staking.  Note that I didn't activate xnode yet but I will in a few days on a dedicated server since I want to help development.  Thanks for the guide that should help.

I got a strange issue after the new update.

I got the new wallet, conf, and it's perfectly synced BUT i am missing coins now.

Looks like my oldest deposit is not showing in my balance?

Here are the screenshots:

You might want to try this solution that someone posted earlier:

http://www.reddit.com/r/XCofficialreddit/comments/274lt5/wallet_syncing_issue_resolution/

REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR WALLET.DAT

First try what is stated in the reddit article but a little edit would be that the newest wallet is "v0.9.1.35x11-coin-1.0" I got it from http://xc-official.com/release/wallets/

If that dont work then you can try this one.  Since it looks like my old problem

REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR WALLET.DAT

I can't get past block 21170... Been stuck there trying to sync for at least 12 hours.

Did you download the latest client? If not, do it and restart your wallet.

I had the exact same issue a few hours ago.  Then ATC releases a new wallet that fixed the issue.

Good Day to all XC community.

You can probably call me a lurker or the Forums but I have been following Crytocurrency for a good while now, but I'm in no means an expert. So I come to this forum to ask help particularly on my wallet.

Here is the issue.    It seems the Totals I have in Overview on the wallet does not match the transactions.  I have not sent anything away from my wallet.  This only happened with the new release.

Image copy of the Overview page.  Shows just 60XC (highlighted in Red) and around 25xc unconfirmed. Please note I'am not concerned about the 25xc Unconfirmed.  I'm concerned about the 60XC which shows as my balance.

Now this next image shows my transactions.  Transaction highlighted in red are all confirmed transactions.   If you add them up it Its way short from my balance that showing in the overview page.

The fix I tried already is to backup my wallet.dat and delete everything from the X11 Folder in Roaming Profile (Windows 7).  Then once deleted I re-paste the wallet.dat.   Did this 2x, first just running the "x11coin-qt.exe"  then deleting the folder again and then running the "run-xc-fix.bat". Both times the whole block transactions was re-downloaded. Unfortunately both times it did the same thing.

Anybody got an Idea how to fix this?  Any help will be much appreciated.

try "repairwallet" in the console.  And remeber to take a backup of wallet.dat before doing this.

Thank you kind Sir. That fixed it Woohooo.

Thank you sir for the sharing your story.  I am not an early adopter but I did know about bitcoin since 2011 but I cant call myself a skeptic. Considering where I am from and the income I was getting prevented me from even considering joining "mining".  To be honest the first PC I bought for myself was in 2012 and I got it from Ebay bidding warz.

I get what you mean. Its never to late.  Bitcoin's future is not fixed but the way things are going it just might make it to the moon.
