1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Game Currency ~MMOs ~Poker ~ 20+ Servers~ShapeShift.io ~RPG +More! on: March 08, 2017, 12:05:54 PM

I truly prefer to hire developers rather than have one take over lead mainly due to the history of coins and devs. Most developers prefer to only do temporary work as it doesn't bind them into just one project and they can focus on alternative routes to bring an income in. HYPER has never had a dedicated developer, everything has always been contracted out to 3rd parties. We also see first hand what happens when one person has sole power over a coin with what is happening now with HYPER and we would like to avoid this mistake again in the future.

Yes I agree it is better to hire the devs, that is why I suggested you as a "team leader" as the real dev does not want or have time to always be in touch with the community. I just think that a dev that believes a bit in HYPER and won't sell all funds straight away for BTC would be better than a dev that has no interest in HYPER really just the work. But at the moment I don't think we should pick and chose just get it working.

A board idea has been submitted previously with support from the majority. Going this route would be the best way to insure the continued development of HYPER where no single person has control but rather a group of dedicated community members.

I support this 100%, it its a better idea than nominating one person (like I did suggesting you above haha)

I can offer support and advice and help get things moving but I cannot devote all my time to HYPER. I do not have a normal job and my income comes from my own projects such as my database website, my game website, or projects other coins hire me for. I have to focus most of my time into that to try and make them succeed.

You are already doing a lot, HYPER doesn't deserve to die, thanks to you and crazy jack and others for keeping it alive.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TX]TRANSFER - BITTREX - MULTIPOOL - ANDROID - POS,TOR,MN, STEALTH on: March 08, 2017, 11:39:25 AM

I and my team support Transfercoin, but we also need support from Infernoman or another dev.
Transfercoin is a great project, a sleeping giant.

We run different nodes and wrote a press article on our press network last month because we see a strong sleeping project
and, if we have a active TX dev we can  start to inform some investors to promote the coin.

Are you a Dev?, buy some cheap coins and start to assist Infernoman with developing this coin to a next level.

With some updates and marketing.. the value/price of this coin can rise easily to 0.20 to 0.50 USD pro coin.

From memory Infernoman asked the community for any further development ideas or features we wanted implemented and the result was that the coin was pretty much complete. He has now been hired by another coin as we know, I am sure if you had a specific feature or update you would like to see added to TX he would work on it in due time as this is a project not his job. What features would you like to see added to TX?

Many successful coins have less features but a "viral" (not sure if thats the word, cant shut them up tho) communities. And large investors. TX was building a good community but we never had the investment to make it snowball into something amazing.

We're you thinking actually spending $$$$ on marketing? If we get a couple of prices/options you could try to get the last of TX community to raise funds. Otherwise not sure if inferno/wigit would give up the official TX social media accounts? but send them a pm and ask if they would if we found a community member to run the SM accounts. Could even have a vote if multiple ppl offer/make a team.

In other news I haven't been around the last month as my Bittrex account got hacked and lost multiple BTC, had enough of crypto for a while. Luckily I dont keep all my coins on exchanges I guess  ; /

If anyone in KORE community wants to help me out and buy 1 or 2k KORE @ 10000 sat  (above market I know) it would help me out and get me back in the trading game again, dont worry I still have plenty of KORE to keep staking. Or maybe VIOR if your interested? Thanks send me a PM if you want to help

wow, almost a year. Just getting back in the crypto game (good timing for the msg MM). Are the plans to have a new POW period of mining? Then I think we should go for something ASIC resistant, maybe have a look at what vertcoin are using, more miners = a more decentralized currency = what we want. If we are still being POS then aslong as the blockchain is small and wallet doesnt use many PC resources that would be great.

Almost sounds like you have used the new wallet MM! how exciting.

Are we still using the voip wallet from a year ago? acting a bit weird syncing, but thats normal i guess hehe.

I can do bootstraps again soon, and also help with some social media if needed in the future (no i dont have any old login details).

I still have an old domain www.kore.rocks registered if anyone wants to run a faucet etc but doesnt have hosting send me a pm and we can try and get it running. I will try and utilise it one day myself, or atleast run a backup site once we have a new one.

Still running my own business and had 2nd child in November so i'm very busy, PM quickest way to get me.

What if the Dev gets 0.1% of the new coin?

Even though the new coin would be pre-mined to allow for a swap it would only pre-mine the exact number of coins HYPER already has. It is guaranteed that not everyone will swap their HYPER so this would leave an unknown amount of coins left over from the swap that could become the new HYPER Dev Fund to expand HYPER further by providing new gaming sites with some HYPER to add it, similar to what HYPERfuture used to do.

The majority of the coins should make it through the swap process though as places such as Bittrex and DKV hold a large portion of the coins.

Hi CryptoDatabase, crazy jack and other hyperions

Been out of crypto for the last year since my bittrex account got cleaned out. I have been around HYPER since almost day 1, the coin has always been good to me and still had some in my local wallet thankfully. Just getting back in the game, if we get very close i could probably donate .01 - .03 BTC just pm me I might not be checking the thread.

My wallet has synced in just under 2 weeks, good going i guess hehe. so i would like to see it changed aswell, if a coinswap is the best way then I think we should go ahead. Just what are we going to change to tho? A clone of an existing coin I assume but built on what? And we need a decision about the POS rate for the future. Will the new coin be just POS, we could have short POW period to attract new users and reduce pos% to end up with same total coins.

I agree we should have plenty of leftover coins from the swap for a new dev fund. We would also want to keep some for community members who are MIA at the moment.

The new coin will have a new thread under our control I assume, what about name?

I think CryptoDatabase should take over the project, coins really need a team leader at the front, not a dev, even if we have to "sub contract" the actual dev work at the moment it wont make a difference, if we could find a dev or 2 that actually believes in HYPER would be great tho.

A free mobile game or 2 with some ingame upgrades only purchasable by our currency could really attract some attention. They could even give out free coins also like a faucet. So if we could try and find some developers from that industry it would be great for the future.

Could you help Support the Kore network by staking some coins?
Send 3 addresses and I will send coins to each if you stake for a minimum of 2 months.

We are receiving weekly updates from the coder. The Kore Community will be updated
when hurdles are overcome. No sense getting into the weekly coding issues.
Where we have been stuck for months is compiling the Windows wallet,
but half that time the coder had some personal matters and is back on track.
The Linux wallet has been for the most part completed, is in our possession,
but any testing is kind of futile since changes were made to get the windows
wallet compilation going means the Linux wallet is being modified.

No further updates will follow on this matter and any requests for updates
will be referred to this update, till we cross this Rubicon.

We on the Kore Team and the Coder do appreciate the Community's patience.
 Smiley
Rest assured, the Coder is competent and gone beyond in making this tech
be available.

Is the front page ALL NEW? I do see new wallet stuff but lots of old things too so not sure how updated its been and where are the donation addresses for the blockchain explorer and coders besides in the last 20 pages of the thread or so?

No, the main page is not updated, when the new wallet is released an official takeover thread will be started and MM will have control over main page.

I will bump an old post with most up to date links.

In regards to your last post, if your wallet is synced the funds from bittrex will appear, sometimes it may take many hours to confirm at the moment until we have more wallets open staking on the network.

When I set up a new wallet I copy an existing, up to date data directory and delete
the wallet.dat. Start the wallet and a new wallet.dat is created. A solution would
be to put up a sync'ed data directory for downloading. The data directory
is not operating system dependent i.e can be used on Window or Linux (I have tried
 it and it works).

I just checked the Transfer Coin download from this link http://cryptochainer.com/dir/  and that is what is included with the wallet.dat already removed.

If anyone wants a bootstrap file just rename blk0001.dat from the zip to bootstrap.dat and use it that way
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TX]TRANSFER - BITTREX - MULTIPOOL - ANDROID - POS,TOR,MN, STEALTH on: February 26, 2016, 12:52:58 PM
Well most people have no trouble syncing, the community is just here to help those that do

Using a bootstrap file is very similar to just copying the data directory. It is the more correct way to do things I believe. (not sure if it really makes a difference)

How to use the bootstrap when syncing a wallet for the first time and restoring or moving a wallet

Install wallet, so it creates the data directory (windows example C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Transfer)

Close the wallet, copy the bootstrap file to the data directory (if restoring or moving a wallet, replace the wallet.dat with your backup now aswell)

Reopen the wallet and it will automatically start using the bootstrap file to sync without using the network.

actually in regards to a bootstrap, might be worth checking out this service Wigit http://cryptochainer.com/dir/

I can't vouch for it personally I just know another coin that uses it without drama

:edit: well maybe we are already on there *slaps forehead

thoth goto link for bootstrap if you prefer

I am having a problem getting a solid connection i get 1 active connection for a few seconds and
then right back to zero i am wondering if my internet provider is blocking the connection Huh

Here is the transfer.conf that is linked in the OP it has nodes included. Use that and then restart the wallet.

https://mega.nz/#!jdEF2bwA!e8_gVDIWnSe35HxH6rhfFIzYqQtvOLgoVi7EGnyjQ1g

I did that as well but still won't connect.

Try using this port=9999 instead of 17170

Also add the below line above the nodes list.

maxorphanblocks=10000

it seems to be working now i have two connections thanks bro Smiley

try above, i dont think anyone uploads a bootstrap yet

Greetings there mike  Smiley
I did not find a New wallet.dat in the new folder to replace it i just passt the my old wallet.dat  in die he New folder....
And i left the wallet for 30 Minuten open but it would not sync.

Hi Heureca, I suggest leaving the wallet open atleast 24hrs, the network is slow at the moment. You can try the latest bootstrap above for faster syncing.

maybe contact Infernoman, he runs infernopool and has successfully taken over Transfer Coin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1203975.0  He is trustworthy, and could help probably with Mac wallet /raspberry pi and maybe even android in the future. Maybe we could offer them use of the snake faucet for TX aswell in exchange for the wallet builds and just commission for multipool? just a thought & worth a try.
