41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end of Newbie? on: May 10, 2019, 04:08:13 PM
I think it's not a waste. At least you learned for yourself a lesson now: be more aware with projects. Invest time and effort in researching a project before you joining them. It's not only good for you but also good for potential investors that you're advertising the project to.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quarkchain Help needed. Super massive losses. Please suggest on: May 09, 2019, 06:56:50 PM
Normally, main net is the last hype that a coin can bring to its investors. It's so bad that you bought at hype. Very difficult for you to reach that price level again, unless this coin has some some really important news like partnering with a big company or something. Not sure how much you lost but if you could bear it, then cut the loss and invest in other coins.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is not that bad as stated on: May 09, 2019, 06:50:22 PM
I never think that IEOs are bad. It's just people so hype about it and for those who are not hyped, they think it's scam. Buying an IEO, at least investors are exempted from non-listing fear. Even if someone can control his greed, he can get x2 or x3 profit from big exchanges' IEOs. Bittrex is an exception providing that their two recent IEOs were all failed.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: would you invest in IEO instead of ICO projects? on: May 07, 2019, 04:00:54 PM
IEO lives on people's hype and belief. When people no longer believe that IEO will bring them 5x or 7x profit, it dies. Ocean Network is the latest failure. It was sold on Bittrex - a decent exchange but still failed. I have a feeling that IEO will soon fade away.
45  Economy / Speculation / Re: I know why Bitcoin is growing now! on: May 07, 2019, 03:03:46 PM
Has everyone heard a showdown around USDT? At the moment, Binance is buying bitcoin for tether to secure its funds. Have you seen how the amount of USDT decreases on Binance? How to see the volume of tether on the exchanges answer below?
Instead of being headache figuring out why bitcoin increases/decreases, why not enjoy the show, mate? Trade and accumulate your bitcoin. Anyways, if Binance wanted to buy BTC to secure its fund, it wouldn't buy in so loudly that BTC pumped to $6k.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investors realizing that IEO is a silent scam? on: May 02, 2019, 03:31:38 PM
I feel a pain in my eyes with this kind of grammar mistake: "Is investors realizing...". IEO is just a trend building on people's hype. Just like ICO, it's not a scam itself. Regarding Bittrex's latest IEO: Ocean Network, it failed as a result from this exchange's previous IEO - VeriBlock. VeriBlock was not really a failure but it failed to cause hype.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty may be an income medium for unemployed youth. on: May 02, 2019, 09:43:42 AM
I agree that bounty is a nice choice in short term for the unemployed. However, many people take it as a full time job. I think this is a misconception. They may earn a lot from bounty at one time but I don't think bounty is a long lasting source of income. IMO, bounty should be only considered as a part-time job or a situational solution for unemployed people.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't follow the hype on: May 01, 2019, 07:21:46 PM
There's saying that "High risk, high return". Regarding trading, when people get hyped about a coin, its price can increase quickly. If one can choose the right time to buy and don't be greedy, he can get a quick profit easily. Also, crowd's hype on IEO trend recently has brought a lot of people a profit of 2x, 3x or even 7x.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are IEO's bad? on: May 01, 2019, 07:03:14 PM
IEO is good itself, at least it's safer choice than ICO. Buying an IEO, you don't have to face with the fear of holding a bunch of worthless tokens. However, some recent IEOs showed less hype on this trend. One must very careful to choose a right project on a right exchange if he doesn't want to get loss.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano will destroy Ethereum! on: May 01, 2019, 01:32:23 PM
It's mid 2019 and I see Cardano far running behind Ethereum, eating its dust. All of ADA's fanciest things are on paper and interestingly, people believe in that paper. With no real running product, ADA is overpriced now. And while ETH is moving forward with Constantinople or upcoming Progpow upgrades, ADA is still struggling with its safe zone.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Shows Love to Ethereum, Justin Sun Gets Jealous and replies Tron on: May 01, 2019, 01:11:31 PM
I don't get it why Elon do that? First time he mentioned Doge, now Ethereum. They're totally different coins. Hope that he's not another John McAfee.

P.S: I've just followed Elon's twitter for pump and dump game.
52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Best way to Practice the English Language [Speech and Writing] on: April 29, 2019, 03:09:31 PM
Thanks OP for an useful topic. In term of speaking only, I usually talk to Siri as a way of practicing. It's interesting to see Siri can understand my speech and give me proper answers. I'll try downloading and using this G-board software. However I don't think it can much improve my academic writing skills. I prefer old school method (with pencil and paper) to enhance my writing.
53  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Reminder]: Specially for newbies BCH is not BTC on: April 26, 2019, 02:09:35 PM
I think no need to make a sticky thread about the differences between BTC and BCH. You can see the difference in the icon and symbol it depends on the newbie how they investigate which one is a real bitcoin and honestly there are many websites that can prove which one is bitcoin.
Totally agree with you. Bitcoin took me to crypto and then I heard about Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold or Bitcoin Diamond. It's nothing difficult for me to realize that they're different. The names were different and this difference made me google all these coins.

Rather than Bitcoin (BTC) vs Bitcoin Cash (BCH), people were usually confused between Bitcoin Cash vs BitConnect before because some exchanges listed Bitcoin Cash as BCC - the same with BitConnect at that time. However BitConnect's dead now and newcomers to crypto only knows it as one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in the last decades.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex has been on it's journey to become great again. on: April 26, 2019, 01:45:24 PM
If Binance can make it (started from zero and became the biggest one within few more the), why Poloniex can not become great again? At least, top five exchange in next one, two, or three years? If the Poloniex do their works well, by well I meant bringing new features for their customers, they will have bright future, and will certainly come back to be a top exchange. I think they should hit the top 10 exchange first, that even a challenge for them at the moment.
Binance had a clear strategy to earn its position now: low trading fee. (correct me if I'm wrong, Binance's initial fee was a half lower than other exchanges' at that time). This is not only Binance's strategy but all of other products or services of China. I don't have any hatred on Poloniex but all of my impression about it is an exchange of trash/pump & dump tokens. Binance, Okex and Huobi have gone too far now, I don't think there's any chance for Polo to compete them, especially under fierce competition from veteran and emerging exchanges like Bittrex, Kucoin, Gate, Bitmax or Latoken.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too much crypto payment projects but little people accepting crypto payments on: April 25, 2019, 04:51:13 AM
The initial and most noticeable of crypto is payment. Launching a project based on payment usage of crypto is also the easiest. However, like the OP stated, very few payment project turned to reality. A majority of those projects were created to scam people or so. Very very few projects were and are being seriously developed.

The same problem goes with platform projects. Many coins were created to be platforms for other coins. But along with the fall of ICO trend, many platform coins were put into trash bin. Projects with running product is as rare as gold in the sand now.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After Galaxy S10, next is Samsung Coin? on: April 25, 2019, 03:02:51 AM
All these wallet integration and Samsung Coin are just marketing tweak from Samsung. The latter is even just a rumor. Like some people in this thread, I'm quite interested in tech giants going for blockchain but not in this way. JPM coin, Samsung coin... all are worthless up to now. Why not JPM blockchain or Samsung blockchain instead?
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex has been on it's journey to become great again. on: April 25, 2019, 02:20:43 AM
Poloniex is coming back, I can see that. But what makes it competitive against other giants our there? Margin trading is a nice feature but it's available on almost other major exchanges. Are they tend to become home for abandoned coins like BCHSV or preparing for any IEOs?
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is Becoming a Crypto Monopoly on: April 24, 2019, 04:08:49 AM
If you're talking about "delisting" then it's nothing out of the norm cause every centralized exchange does that. But if you're specifically mention BCHSV's case then it's a bit of personal problem. I can see some controversial stories involving BCHSV but it's not worth deleting. Maybe CZ wanted to boost his fame. Hope he won't go too far on this.
59  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2 Easy way calculated % for crypto trader on: April 10, 2019, 03:34:52 PM
I mostly trade on my phone and I can do these calculations with the help of built-in Calculator app. Using Excel seems more effective if you trade a number of coins/tokens, where it can help you manage profit/loss at a large scale.

If you had good intentions then its ok, but otherwise if you wanted merit its not good way to go.
Sorry, I respect you, you are a legendary member You know very well that I can never go to that place, When my every post are not meritable so why your thinking uninspired?
I think he means your content is a bit ordinary. You should try to produce some more complicated content  if you want to earn merit from it.
60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's smerit(sendable merit) not kmerit(keepable merit) on: April 06, 2019, 12:16:06 AM
He isn't the first user receiving merits for entertaining video, i remember a contest held for that purpose before. Before complaining of merit abuse, have you watched the video?
I don't complain about anything, mate. I don't need merit either. It's just something that I can observe.

Merit aren't just given to constructive posts but also for post contributing positively to the forum in the form of entertaining, funny and post OP put in some effort (merited in form of appreciates).
I knew that there would be some statement like this. In a nutshell, merit is not moderated, right?

Any post that isn't spam and above average is worth meriting (my opinion though).
That's right. But people have different standard of "above average". And I do appeciate for such topics like this: Giving 15 Newbie/Jr. Members a Chance to Rank Up or Merit giveaway for forum contributions!
