Brooklyn Nets are still having a really bad run recently. In the game that Kyrie Irving played also, they finally won after a break of three games. But last night, KD-Harden duo couldn't do what they wanted exactly and they lost to Bucks home by 121-109. Giannis had an impressive performance having 31 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. B. Portis was also good having 25 points and 12 rebounds. KD played still strongly but Harden lacked his usual performance.

^ KD had an average game but Harden played a disappointing game. Seems like Harden has left his golden times way in the past and his age is now holding him back. On the other hand, Bucks played really well as they were really coordinated and their chemistry was on point.

Giannis Portis and Middleton all had scored more than 20 points whereas only KD scored more than 20 points for the Nets. Even with this quality squad, I'm not sure why the Nets are failing to show dominance. What could be the reason though?

It might be because there is more than one leader at this team. I mean that players like Kevin Durant and James Harden are both the players who deserve to be the leader of the team. I would say the same for Kyrie Irving too but he can't play in many games for now so I exclude him. Because of this reason, Nets sometimes start failing big time and this turns to a series of losses. They need to solve this problem somehow otherwise they can have big trouble in the playoffs while they are aiming to win the championship.

Not that special or big deal to others but aside from the Los Angeles Lakers getting a win against the Atlanta Hawks, LeBron James now enters the Top 10 All-Time in Career Steals. That kind of record is a tough job to work on. Chris Paul and Lebron James are the only active players on the Top 10 where the former sits at the 5th spot. Aside from that, Lebron James now surpasses Michael Jordan as the oldest player to record 10 straight 25+ points in a game. The hell they were able to record that lol.

LeBron James enters top 10 all-time in career steals
At 37, LeBron is the oldest player in NBA history to have 10 straight 25-point games. He passes Michael Jordan, who did it at age 34.

Lebron is just built differently. Even at this age of 37, he doesn't seem like he is gonna stop anytime soon. He still has the fierce pace, eye for goal, and very good game-sense and team play. Scoring 25+ points 10 games in a row at 37 is no joke. It needs sheer skills and hard training to stay fit, focused, and accurate.
Also, big congrats to him for reaching the top 10 all-time steals record.

What do you guys think about how many years Lebron has left after he starts to fade? My gut says that he will still play 3 more years at peak form.

It also seems that their main stars aren't prone to injury. I mean we don't see them getting injured too much but correct me though.

Same as you, I have also noticed that. Like you guys are saying, they should remain healthy so that we can see close Eastern Conference Playoffs match-ups. Brooklyn Nets is currently the favorite to win the ECF but I don't like them having an easy road to the Finals. We need other teams to shine in this year's playoffs like Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.
If Kyrie will not get vaccinated until the playoffs, they will be having a hard time with other top teams for sure.
They won against the Pacers which is obviously at the bottom spot right now and just today, they lost against the Bucks by 12. This implicates one thing. Kyrie really is a big boost to the team and without him, their offensive power is decreased and if this is what will happen in the playoffs I don't think that they will won the ECF. There is Bulls, Bucks, Heat and 76ers out there who can defeat them if they aren't complete. I just hope that Kyrie will let down his ego at least a little bit and get vaccinated before the playoffs.

For Lakers fans out there, any status about Kendrick Nunn? Still not seeing in action this season. He's a sharpshooter at Miami Heat and big addition to the Lakers' offense right now.
A quick google search and you will see that there is still no timeline for his return. LINK
Quote
L.A. initially hoped the bone bruise in Nunn’s knee would sideline the guard for two to three weeks. However, the 26-year-old has already been out of action for nearly three months with mid-December reports suggesting he could return in January.

In the latest update on Nunn’s injury, head coach Frank Vogel said the former Miami Heat guard is “getting close” to making his comeback. However, Vogel didn’t give any estimates on when he hopes to have the player back with the rest of the team.

I'm more than sure that the road to the final series won't be easy for the Brooklyn Nets because the competition in the Eastern Conference is quite strong this season. By the way, Kendrick Nunn hasn't played since preseason due to a right knee bone bruise, and there are still no exact dates for his return to the court.

It won't be easy, don't you forget that the Bucks are the defending champions and they are from the East. And just tonight, the Bucks beat the Nets, Giannis almost got a triple double with 31 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds.

And then we have the Chicago Bulls as well, who is now at the top of the East standing because of that lost by the Nets and with the strength of their win today, and they are now on a 8 game winning streak.

The current top 4 in the East are really a hard and a tough team namely Bulls, Nets, Bucks and the Heat. And if the Nets continues to lose along the way, for sure the Bucks will much more happy to take the 2nd place following the Bulls and I reckon it's their 5th loss in their homecourt.
While the Bucks is the defending champion so we can really expect that they won't give the title so easily and give other teams a hard time before they accept defeat. But there's also the Chicago Bulls in the East and currently seated in the #1 spot, right now they are on its 9th straight wins after they managed to defeat the Wizards with Vucevic almost got a triple double.

That's the problem. It's like when you are cooking one recipe, you don't put salt just occasionally. You do it every time you cook the same food.
The consistency will be gone if Kyrie Irving will just be playing outside Brooklyn. Energy was filling up when he was there last game but now that he is not it suddenly went down.
IMO, it's not healthy for both the team and their coaching staff. It's confusing if they have other types of play when he is around and another when not.

And on the contrary, if Kyrie can't play then they will definitely have a problem because of consistency. I'm not surprised by the lost to Bucks. I mean Giannis wanted to make a statement in this game that they are the defending champion and they've lost in their last game against a low team so that really have to bounce back today with a big win against the Nets with KD and Harden around.

It seems like the NBA pretty much have the record for almost all of the aspect of the game.
LeBron being in the age of 37 has done really something impressive carrying a team who's struggling that's was suppose to be one of the strongest team in the West.
Well, the Lakers are doing fine playing a small ball with LeBron being in the Center position, but the most notable player that's helping the Lakers and LeBron to win their 4 winning-streak was none other than Malik Monk. He has become a more consistent scorer now.
Though LeBron's performance is timeless but without any help from the whole team they'll achieve nothing this year.

The Lakers slowly getting up to a good standing, with their 4th win streak, they are now at number 6. That's very good for Lebron James, another achievement again and more to come as for sure he will be playing more seasons in the NBA. At his age, he still looks like he is in his prime, so everything he achieve now is not surprising anymore.

Yes, and that is good news because they are not doing well and some has been disappointed with their super team, but now they are slowly living to the expectation of the people and I hope they'll continue to win. Without the support of LBJ's teammates, he could not carry this team to the playoffs, so he some consistent support especially from WB who are sometimes inconsistent.

Yeah it's good that they are on the winning streak right now, but the big test for them is to really win against a team that has a winning record just saying. And the good thing is that Lebron is having a good numbers in the last 5 games averaging almost 30 points and now we have someone who is also consistent who is Malik Monk and he is one reason why the Lakers is on a winning streak right now. So it will be a big test for them next game on the 10th, against Memphis who is also on a winning streak. So that will be a great game and we will see if Lakers is really back.

I'm not convinced yet, let's see in their next game if they can beat the red hot Grizzlies. Both teams are in a winning streak, so this should be a good test for the Lakers, if they can win here, that's a big statement to those who still doubt them like me.  Smiley

Im also not sold on the Lakers winning streak, and good analysis on the teams they have beaten so far. They don't have a winning record and when they face Ja Morant's Grizzlies it will be a good test for them if they have the chemistry to win big against a good team. Only Monk has so far showing consistency, WB fouled out against the Hawks and didn't have his usual triple double. THT and Melo is also inconsistent. So a convincing win against the Memphis might sway some to believed that the Lakers are now for real.

I agree mate, I'm also not convinced yet, maybe they are performing very well but you can see in the game that they blow out a 19 point lead in the 2nd quarter and just lead by 3 points at the half.

Maybe the Hawks although with Collins and Trae Young back was still not jiving well enough to beat the Lakers. But I'm seeing them as the slight favourite in their games against the Grizzlies because it will be in their home court.

Same. I might put bets for the Lakers if they can defeat the Grizzlies now. I have always passed on betting for them because of the many losses I received trying to expect them to take the win. Perhaps after this, the criticism lurking around will be put to an end.

Thanks mate for the update, was surprised to hear it though, and I thought that GP2 has a contract already in the beginning of the season.

But he really perform very well as he proved his last name as a Warriors, he can played and close anyone in the league specially guards and SG with his defense and then we see some highlight dunks too. So good move by the Warriors for a guarantee contract.
I thought so too. He will just need to work harder even with the guaranteed contract. If there is a comparison that I will make for GPII, he will be Gary Harris without the shooting. Nuggets had been great before because of his cuts, high flying ability and just running without the ball that's why Jokic always finds him free.

Don't know what is going to happen, I think Lakers vs Grizzlies match will be a very competitive one. Maybe one of the biggest matches so far in the season. Both the teams are in really good form but I think that the Grizzlies are a bit more reliant on how Ja Morant performs.
So if the Lakers can mark Morant well enough and don't give him any room, I think the Grizzlies might suffer for that. Lebron on the other hand is also in fierce form. I'm hoping for a great thrilling match and I think Lakers might have a slight edge in this one.

LeBron James enters top 10 all-time in career steals
At 37, LeBron is the oldest player in NBA history to have 10 straight 25-point games. He passes Michael Jordan, who did it at age 34.
Lebron is definitely some other kind of person when it comes to longevity. Dudei s 37 years old and he has been doing amazing work so far. He has taken his team from under 50% to over 50% all by himself. I mean surely there are other players as well but he is the key to their success, leave him out and put everyone else at 100% in and you are not going to get this kind of streak.

This guy didn't just win them games this past week, he has been great for the whole past month and while they were looking like close to 10th seed (one or two game difference) now they are 6th and quite away from dropping out of playoffs right now, all thanks to him. Dude will end his career top 10 in points, assists and steals he guaranteed that. Rebounds are the only thing he will not be in top 10 that matters, which is understandable considering that's mainly for bigs.

I really don't like to see that Lebron James has to carry the team to victories most of the time. He should already have left those days behind from now on. And as far as I know, he doesn't want to continue to do this too. He wants his team to build a team which consist highly capable players to take the load off of his shoulders. But Lakers did the opposite for this season. And last night, we saw another example that Lebron carried the team. Lakers just can't go on like this to the end. They could have big problems in the playoff stage.

Yeah exactly.

And I believe that Lakers have one of the toughest schedules remaining going ahead in the NBA season, so that certainly does not help either.

LeBron in Year 19 should not have to average career numbers in order to just win games.

But I guess that is what the Lakers signed up to when they signed AD and Westbrook - they can work great when hot, but when they don't work, it's either going to be AD out for injuries or Russ making braindead moves which does not help.

AD is the most important piece of the Lakers after Lebron, without him, the Lakers will not be able to win a championship as Davis is really a dominant player and consistent as well, his only problem is the injury issue but as long as he is healthy in the playoffs, everything should be fine for the Lakers. Westbrook, does better in the playoffs so expect good playoffs for the Lakers once they qualify.

That's right, Davis was down last season's playoffs that's why the entire Lakers team suffered and they had an early exit against the Suns. If this will happen again this season, I wouldn't be surprised that they will lose again as they don't have a reliable big man on the roster who can make a production like Davis can.
