241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: September 24, 2017, 05:44:28 PM
Bitcoin is money as long as people believe it's money and we use it for money. Right now people are using it as a store of value. Then people will exchange goods and services, and then things will get priced with it.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who can destroy Bitcoin ? on: September 24, 2017, 05:42:17 PM
Nobody can destroy Bitcoin as it is a decentralized network of computers that can not be shut down as it does not have one central point of failure. It is also open source so people are making it better everyday.
243  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: September 24, 2017, 05:40:13 PM
The future of paper money is looking bleak as it continues to fail on the centralized system it runs on. Bitcoin is decentralized and open source and voluntary therefore it is on it's way to replacing the dollar.
244  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Startup successful? Will they convert to shares? on: September 24, 2017, 05:39:18 PM
Most of them should just buy and hold bitcoins as they are wasting their time when they will just get disintermediated as that is what happens on the Bitcoin network.
245  Economy / Economics / Re: Most people dont even know what this is yet. on: September 24, 2017, 05:38:16 PM
Exactly, most people don't even know what Bitcoin is yet therefore we are in a great position to be leaders for future economic development, not just in the local community but on a global scale as well.
246  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When sell ETH for BTC? on: September 23, 2017, 01:50:36 PM
Right this instant. Unless you are feeling lucky because there is a very high risk vs reward with ETH when you can just buy and hold BTC for the long term.
247  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you fair in trading so far? have you been losing or winning money ? on: September 23, 2017, 01:31:27 PM
I haven't done that well in trading, until I developed patience to be able to make one simple trade at the right time and just keep building on that.
248  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading BTC Question vs Altcoins on: September 22, 2017, 04:12:17 AM
You don't really trade BTC, you hold them for the long term. IF you want to trade alts beware and focus on privacy based ones.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is changing the world. on: September 21, 2017, 03:33:58 AM
Bitcoin is changing the world because people are converting their fiat money into bitcoins. This has many network effects.
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are We Dead Without China? on: September 21, 2017, 03:11:26 AM
We are not dead without China. Bitcoin is decentralized and if centralization occurs well Bitcoin will figure out a way to become more decentralized. It always does.
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you using bitcoins for? on: September 21, 2017, 02:49:31 AM
The miners mine and hold, other mine and sell.

Investors and speculators buy, hold and sell.

You can buy random items in auctions and through the forums.

What are the reasons for the bulk of the bitcoin transfers? I read an article underlying the "dark side" of the internet and TOR network, and they seem to point out that bitcoins are now nearly the exclusive currency for the online "black market" (Note, they are not saying bitcoins are exclusively used for black market transactions)

What have you used bitcoins for?

Black Market
Other - explain

Right now, you buy Bitcoin to hold because it is in the store of value stage still. It hasn't scaled to be able to support a global amount of transactions so we must wait until price skyrockets which will be in 5-10 yrs imo.
252  Economy / Speculation / Re: what you think about bitcoin in like 5 years? on: September 17, 2017, 11:11:22 PM
I think Bitcoin will be worth $100,000+ in 5 years. It is only a matter of time. Just wait and see. Wink
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does Bitcoin affect other Crypto? on: September 17, 2017, 11:10:56 PM
Bitcoin is the king of all cryptos. With that said, usually is the price goes down the other cryptos, especially major ones will follow.

255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it actually worth buying btc of 50? on: September 17, 2017, 10:38:43 PM
I think it is not only worth buying $50 of Bitcoin, but also worth to buy even just $5. Smiley

257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are We Dead Without China? on: September 17, 2017, 10:37:32 PM
No way. China is one company. Why would Bitcoin be dead without China?

259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: And We Are Back! on: September 06, 2017, 05:58:37 AM
Bitcoin is now officially bouncing back! After such a bloodbath that occurred right after Bitcoin has almost won over the $5,000 wall and triggered further by the China ICO ban effect, we can now see and see that Bitcoin is already back for good...and it is about to get over the $4,500 hurdle (again!).

As I am writing this thread, Bitcoin is hovering over the $4,400 range and I am hoping that tomorrow or the day after it can be able to ditched the $4,500 psychological barrier.

Slowly, we are hearing less of the many prophets of doom and gloom and I am expecting that soon we can instead be hearing more of press releases coming from the other side of the isle: the prophets of boom!

Do you think we can be able to be back at $4,900 within this week?

In all fairness, it did get to almost $5,000 and is only $4,450 now which means still 10% lower than it was before.
260  Economy / Speculation / Re: Less Volatility Is Needed? on: August 31, 2017, 07:19:39 AM
We have no option but to accept the fact that volatility is going to be with us for a lot of time in bitcoin, but that is going to change since bitcoin is still growing, think of bitcoin as a baby, a baby can grow very rapidly but when bitcoin reaches adulthood then it is not going to change much after that.

I remember the crash from 1k to $400 was fast.
What makes you think it cannot repeat?
