А когда они разожмутся?
У меня сейчас 17ГБ, нет никаких 27ГБ Да они не сжатые, а не полностью скачанные, а-ля SPV. Но новые блоки все равно будут качаться полные. Если это как SPV, значит нет полной ноды. Хотя если сделать импорт ключа и что-то из тех блоков понадобится, придётся докачивать. |

Немного осталось. У битка блокчейн гдето 70 гб с лишним, а тут до 30 ГБ не доходит.
Естественно эфир быстрее должен быть.
Ничего себе. Битку уже 7 лет почти, а эфиру только год и уже блокчейн раздулся до небес, почти биток догнал. Сколько же блокчейн эфира будет весить года через 3? пробовал удалять всю папку chaindata в Roaming, когда блоки весили 27Гб, и заново синхронизировать, после синхронизации, где-то сутки, блоки весили 5-6 ГБ! Уже объясняли много раз. При первой быстрой синхронизации блоки качаются в сжатом виде. Когда разожмутся, будет 27 гигов. Нет никакого чуда. по крайней мере, уже неделю у меня блокчайн 7 гигов весит, а не 27! другой вопрос, зачем при 27 гигах чейна цена Эфира 10$ ? а не 100 $, например, размышления примитивны, но прослеживая цепочку с биткоином, остаёться не понятным, разворачивание таких масштабов должно происходить по всем направлениям, я думаю Какая взаимосвязь между ценой монеты и размером её цепи? Да почти никакая. Вот количество полных нод будет со временем уменьшаться. Дома на терабайтных дисках можно держать что угодно, а ВПСки с большим дисковым пространством дорогие. |

BUT, it reflects the truth. Bitfinex owners are rich and they will live a luxurious life because their clients(most of them...sheep) are okay with -36% from their funds.
if bitfinex's client whose money get cut off about 36% could unite and sue the bitfinex owner maybe it could help,but still doubt there's any regulation about bitcoin transaction or it could be considered as a fiat transaction because bitfinex is about exchanging bitcoin to fiat and fiat to bitcoin? Bitfinex can be sued without any problem; same as it was MtGox. By suing Bitfinex, it will be revealed MANY dirty things that Bitfinex made during the years. The people will see how the exchangers are making the REAL profit(not those from fees). Those who want to know how exchanges make real profits, they know it already. Don't go for 6 cards for your first farm. Too much trouble, really. With each card consuming in excess of 200W, you'll need a very expensive 1500W PSU adjusted for efficiency. Go for 3 or 4 cards and a high quality 1000W PSU. Those pro miners with 6-card rigs opt usually for two interconnected PSUs.

Build yourself a farm. Get a mobo with 4 PCI Express slots at least, some cheap CPU and RAM, a 80+ Gold rated PSU of 1000W at least. Buy risers on eBay or elsewhere. Find an old HDD you don't use any more. Purchase a few GPUs of the same model and manufacturer. Pick up a milk crate and assemble all this stuff into it. Install Linux or Windows, set up the miner of your choice and you're good to go.

I have a few GPU farms with low power CPUs, though 4 to 8 cores each. Set up them to mine GAP instead of doing nothing at all. This way I get additional power consumption of 50W to 80W per rig and about 500 coins a day. That's not bad for now, but not very good either. How much PPS? I set 4 different wallets clients on one machine which using same GPU, so approx 4 000 000 PPS (1 000 000 per each wallet) and about the same test/s. Not much, somewhere between 1 and 1.5 million PPS total. These CPUs are kinda old, Core 2 family and early i7 up to Sandy Bridge. Low clocks and voltage to reduce power usage. |

today many users bitfinex who lost their bitcoin. some users even lose all bitcoin them because they keep all bitcoin owned in bitfinex. This is an event that should be a lesson for the future of all bitcoin users feel safe.
That's plain bad to keep all your funds on a single exchange. It's better to spread them over a few exchanges. In general, you keep there enough funds for day trading and withdraw to your wallet what you reserve for long term investments. |

If there were some scientific bounties paid in fiat for math work like finding prime gaps in our case, it could be great. Even if they are somewhat small. Still a good way to improve Gapcoin's infrastructure and show the common folk our mining work has value actually. Most people just don't get it right.

I don't beleive that bitfinex hack because they can give a 33% back funds to your account..
I think this just their reason that their hack but the truth they are not hack and they sold bitcoin and now the price of bitcoin is low they can deposit or buy bitcoins to give few funds as giveaway to others..
If they sold 120k BTC before the event and bought back right after, they could make a good fortune without much trouble. Large centralized exchanges are manipulated. That's how they make real profits. Those 0.2% trade fees are just for maintenance expenses. |

Still good for mining. Even with my 290 x can mine 2-2500 gaps per day
2k GAPs with a single 290X seems very good. CPUs consume more power and yield less by a good margin. I know there are some people with free electricity who can mine just for fun or whatever the reason, but it's good to make mining profitable in general. |

Technically they are not insolvent if they remove the liabilities from their books. These tokens would likely come with terms that they do not guarantee anything (hence are not real liabilities). So while the tokens may or may not actually pay out some dividends in practice, they don't have the same effect on solvency (from an accounting perspective, and possibly from a legal perspective). That's a good point. Their lawyers and accountants may find a loophole or something, but if these tokens aren't really liabilities, why should people accept them for their losses? There will be a class action demanding complete and immediate return of the assets. Bitfinex will lose in court and may go bankrupt. |

I would buy some more just for the sake of it but what i am afraid is that the network is too small and it can easily be forked... Who needs to fork it? Those who do 51% attacks are in for a profit one way or another. Gapcoin is too small for them now. It's a nice coin with some unique features, but it's under their radar currently. Nothing to worry about until it grows to a marketcap 10x larger. |

How stupid is this service or exchanger did they really keeped 120K bitcoins ONLINE? Why not use hardware wallets or paperwallets for a such high sum of money i got the feeling they just try to run away and steal money
Answer from Bitfinex: We don't use cold storage for bitcoin, since our implementation with bitgo we've used segregated customer wallets so that each user has their own bitcoin wallet. So, no cold wallet, no reserves, no nothing. Speachless LOL Of course, it doesn't say about their bank account where all their cash is stored  That sucks big time. It's ok to keep separate wallets for each user, but what's the point if all of them are online? If the system gets compromised, all online wallets can be drained. Most deposits should be kept in cold wallets with a strict personalized access. |
