21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]|DUSK Network| Privacy-oriented chain specifically for Digital Securities! on: May 16, 2019, 06:08:32 AM
The rumours were true! Check this tweet made by the CTO of Bitfinex: https://twitter.com/paoloardoino/status/1128207377705177088. If you search the added pdf for "dusk" and you will find it!

Holy shit! This is huge! And tbh, i don't think that the good news even stop on this when you look at all the advisors on the board. They must be there for a reason.

I know right I feel like they're pushing a lot of big things behind the scenes, also explains the delay for the listing. First you build a solid foundation and then you list, not the other way around which 95% of the projects do. However, I hope they increase the marketing efforts soon,

If it's true which more likely seems to be then it will have a huge impact on DUSK when it will launch on the exchanges.
I agree they have the right approach.

It is true, make sure to check out their Telegram channel, Emanuele answered a decent amount of questions about it like this one: https://t.me/DuskNetwork/50362. Personally I feel like this partnership they have extends way further than just a listing, with Duskfinex Dusk will actually continously receive funding, which is why I really think they will become the "ethereum" of digital securities.

what is Duskfinex? Is it some kind of another exchange built by Dusk and bitfinex?
DUSK will have a huge impact on the STO market.

What will happen to the unsold tokens if there will be any?
Will they be burned or locked for a certain period of time?

We will only create tokens those tokens, that are sold.

Does that mean the contract is not yet deployed and no tokens will be issued till the end of the STO?

Happy Friday everyone!

We had an amazing AMA session with Pascal couple of weeks ago, where he explained the technical side of the hybrid exchange and presented our new roadmap and user acquisition strategy.

If you are interested but do not have the time to watch the full video, we made a small article detailing the key points of the stream.

Link: https://medium.com/jarvis-edge/ama-digest-a5add9bf1af

Is there a way to register as a beta test user? Or is there a possibility to get in for that group of 1000 people from the start?

Unfortunately, those 100 people will be chosen from the ICO participants. However, you have the chance to be in the first launch group, we will choose people by the simple principle "first come, first serve".

If you are afraid you might miss it, we will make several announcements about the date beforehand.

Is there any kind of rewards planned for the beta testers and first launch group people?

Now that the testnet launch is imminent and Bitfinex is having some legal troubles how this situation will affect DUSK?
what is the relationship between DUSK and Bitfinex?
I see on the website that DUSK itself partners with Bitfinex but what do they both work? some communities worry about it

Dusk held an IEO on Bitfinex late last year and there is reason to believe that Dusk will be involved in the new licensed & regulated security exchange that Bitfinex is building (Source)

Apart from doing a limited IEO they will be listed on Bitfinex and Ethfinex when they launch their testnet to the public.

It is quite interesting that the team itself said that the price of JRT after launching would not be that ico and to make it clearer, let's just look after it was launched, hopefully what the team said could really materialize

Token could be launched at a higher price than ico's price then suddenly rise or...dump. Launch price means nothing to me, market will react at people will.

You are right because bounty pool was quite high I am expecting a huge dump before the price recover. But, it won't be a wise move in the longer term.

When tokens will be trading on exchanges? As I see, mainnet launch should be in Q2. Any exact date of this (at last exact month) ?

The first testnet cli wallet be up and running within 2 weeks as per their telegram group. I think we can expect the main net anytime after that.

I thought that the listing would happen be when the public testnet is ready, not with the mainnet.

Our listing date is slightly postponed until our TestNet is released to the public. When providing liquidity, we'll likely have an influx of new users. We feel its best to have our code published for them to look at and validate for themselves right away.

This is the right approach because in decentralized world transparency is a must.

It would be nice if there is some kind of intuitive calculator on the Jarvis' homepage to calculate the revenue people will earn for the tokens they hold.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES on binance on: April 18, 2019, 11:03:29 AM
What do you guys think about the WAVES' future? Does it really stand a chance against ETH and everyone fighting in this space?

There are very limited opportunities for altcoins. Especially one like waves that offers the creation of other altcoins. Long story short its entire existence is based on being a better clone of Ethereum. The only way I can see it having any future is if it targetted certain demography and certain nationalities.

I own both ETH and WAVES and I agree with you that WAVES can never be where ETH is but, down the line, it comes to how they market themselves while fighting for the space behind ETH.

I wasn't talking about the listing. I also think that listing will happen on public testnet otherwise it would take another 2-3 months for the mainnet to launch.

Congrats to the team. This is supported by bancor so its going to be listed there as well?

Also interested to learn when the platform is going to be released. I can see you do have a desktop platform, suppose this means a software to install in the computer for trading like MT4  for FOREX right?

Where did they mentioned that they are supported by bancor, did I miss something?

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Prometheus59 - a decentralized global blockchain-based supercomputer on: April 17, 2019, 12:52:58 PM
I  just came through your ANN thread and you look a lot like SONM. What is it that you are providing and SONM isn't?

1. Specific market pricing based on auction (not applied to Charity mission)

In Prometheus59, the so-called "marketplace" will have an auction element, which, in the event of a lack of capacity, will allow prioritizing the execution of tasks depending on the proposed payment (of course, prioritizing will not touch the Charity mission). This may be a win-win at the initial stages of development.

At the same time, if the price rises and there is a shortage of total computing power allocated for commercial tasks, the power providers will receive greater rewards proportionally to the amount of provided computing power.

Also, if there is a shortage of computing power in the network, a power renter (someone who needs computing power) can offer a higher price and thereby attract more users. In addition, users will be able to earn not only on the power provision but also on PoS. P59 will also have a task formalization system to process the maximum number of types of tasks suitable for distributed computing.

2. Specific way to determine payments for provided computing power

Payments will be formed depending on the total income of the system, but here is a fundamental nuance: all the resources allocated for Charity mission will be paid in the same way as resources used to solve commercial tasks. This will be good for marketing and drive more public attention.

3. Payments for the provided computing power, not a task
Instead of estimating the task itself by several parameters (which, for example, Golem does), Prometheus will take rely on computing power itself as an object of assessment. This will exclude the possible negative influence of certain task parameters, such as "timeout," when the task may remain unsolved.

When the marketplace object is a task, few possible outcomes are possible (for example: failed, timeout, rejected, accepted.) When the object of the marketplace is computing power, negative outcomes eliminated or even reduced totally. At the same time, the user only pays for the power he uses

Thanks for the elaborated answer. It would be better if you provide it in a tabular manner so that its easier for everyone to read.

I heard that you are in testnet phase right now. Is there any way we can have access to that?

The TestNet can't be accessed right now. We have already put the TestNet through testing, with over 300 nodes all across the world to mimic real life scenarios. Putting the code live requires quite some more steps, e.g. we need it to be well documented so that other developers understand what is happening and can appreciate what we've build. We need to migrate to Github, and make it available for Merge requests, as well accompany it again with more documentation. It is a bit like building a house, once its there and you invite people for your housewarming, there is still quite a lot of work to do to make it presentable! The better the documentation the more constructive the feedback will be from developers who validate and check it, and thus the more actionable any suggestions for improvements will be.

I like that you guys are testing using 300 nodes placed all over the globe rather than creating a simulation which doesn't always display correct data.

Now that there are two smart contracts with the same name. You should add some info on the depreciated one so, that it's easily distinguishable.

It would be nice if you can post a quick comparison between already established exchanges like Binance, Bittrex etc. and upcoming exchanges like: Digitex, Jarvis.exchange etc and ofcourse Streamex.
