Price is just fine if it stays around 10-15 sat for the rest of this year imo. What worries me is the low buy support/volume.. The fund is a great thing but when projects start to recieve donations and they want to convert their mints to fiat, what will happen then when virtually no one want to buy their mints?
Allmost everybody that buy cryptocurrencies these days are in it for short time profit. If a coin have no volume / no action it will be forgotten.
Scan through btt and you will find that allmost no one mention mintcoin.
How can we change that?

i think the most coins this low are just minted coins which some whales already got for "free". so they haven't paid for them and try to sell them quickly. really short sighted. we have to remain confident and become the whales ourselves No one could possibly have minted that mutch! It must be some early miners that never ever read the op and have no clue how the coin works...

Look at mintcoins distribution model, i think it is alot fairer. Only 27% distributed in the initial distribution stage (pow) and the remaining 73% will be generated through pure pos minting. 20% will be minted the first year, 15% the second year, 10% third year and then 5% per year until max coins is reach. With this high pos reward price will be kept low and stable the first years meaning people can buy in cheap for a long time. And everybody will get the pos reward no matter how many coins you have.

Understanding that good dev should be rewarded, why not instead of creating a premine, having a %tage of the reward of each block sent to the dev ?
I would be completely on board for something like that. But how would you stop them from continuing to collect payments if they just walked away from the coin? Carboncoin, flappy, stories, NYCoin, and like a million others right now are dealing with replacing the devs as the original ones disappeared or just effectively stopped working. Einsteinium have this. 2% sent to a fund and 0.5% sent to the devs of every block mined

There are 200btc sell orders but only 12btc buy orders for mint on mintpal. Sorry to say but mint is getting forgotten!
A few days ago i mentioned mint in different threads here on btt and some replied "Thank you for reminding me" and things like that.
We have to do something that draw peoples attention at least here on btt. We need more buy support in the short term or else i fear it will drop fast in price soon and people will start panic sell (maybe that will draw attention thouh but i dont know if it will be possitive attention..)
What to do...?
I would keep mining at hashco.ws but my mining pc gave up the other day.
One easy thing that everybody here can do is scan the forum in altcoin section and post information about mintcoin in different threads. There are lots of questions about pos coins and threads asking for good coins to invest in and so on.

Mintcoin only had 27% generated through POW. Now it's pure POS and the remaining 73% will be generated through energy efficient, environment friendly POS minting. The future of cryptos!
What happens after the other 73% are mined via PoS It will still be secured by coin age but without the minting. But who knows, its about 40 years in the future, things may change...

GoldCoin (GLD) don't have it yet but a brand new wallet built from scratch with such features and more are about to be launched soon. Also MintCoin is building a wallet for Android devices (first of its kind for POS coins) that might gonna have such features.

MINT is too PPL~ But why does't more people like to buy it?
Mint is very young. Only pump n dump/hyped coins are bought in huge quantities when this young. Mint is for long term and slowly gaining value as infrastructure is built

Is there anyone in the MintCoin dev community looking at a MintCoin port of BitcoinJ? Or some other client only library?
Look at page 680

Im curious to know why the multipool has not had much impact on price and can only come to 1 conclusion. The POS interest rate seems to actually be holding this coin back for now. If I were to guess I think a lot of people just sell thier interest.
But if we make little a calculation: 18756335526 Mintcoins now if we have 20% for the first year it is about 1,66 % per month that means 1,66% from 18756335526 is = 311355169 ( per month ) 311355169 divided per 30 days is = 10378505 coins per day with the current price (16) it is a sell presure of = 1.66 BTC ( 24 h sell presure) I know its going to change more over the months but its really not that much, isn it? And that is just happening if everybody is selling their minted coins. cheers True if everybody hold all their coins in their wallets all the time. But since alot of coins are being moved maybe 50-70% actually mints. So maybe 1btc sell pressure every 24hr

True, but I'm doing this as a test so if my MAC crashes, I will be able to get my wallet.dat from a usb and load it on another machine. Doing this for security, but it's just too complicated without someone showing me.
Cant you just do file-backup waller and save it on your usb? But then i dont know how to import it in you other wallet without using the file system (there are no file-import as far as i know..)
