PS. I love your pools as much as the next miner but god damn that spam drives me nuts. There is already a list of pools in the first post where newcomers will surely find them.
Sorry :/ Unfortunately it works and my guys want the pool to build up a bit more so I'm trying to do my duty to my loyal miners. I've already cut it down quite a bit. Plus, there are broken pools in that list, example #2, doesn't even work and is in maintenance mode. The first pool talks about throwing the entire pool away because of hard drive failure, etc, etc. It's a bit confusing to cut through the red tape for the newbies. |

So lets take a serious look at the prospects of Earthcoin. In order for this coin to survive and not be Dogefied, you guys need to let the market build. A simple pump and dump will just ruin the future of this coin, and in fact, there is a bright future. At least Earthcoin has a name like Worldcoin, and that speaks volumes. If the developers and such take a good stands, develop a foundation to support and market this coin, I believe this coin can rival Litecoin at some point. One look at the Worldcoin ANN, and you can see what people can do when they come together. Worldcoin is one the most professionally marketed and put together coin out there in the alt coin market. I'm hoping that Earthcoin can/will do the same. But in order for that to happen plans need to be made now so that people have confidence in the coin just past a simple pump and dump. If there is hope for the future and plans for the coin, then people will hold on to the coins and let the market mature. Let's all be honest, there was no future for DOGE coin, even though that it introduced a lot of Reddit and 4Chan people in to the mining industry, which is great because it created a medium that was fun and profitable for a lot of new folks. So, Mr Earthcoin, what do you say? Are you willing to take on the responsibility of running a foundation for this coin? I'm sure a lot of miners and pool operators would donate to the cause if we felt the operation of the foundation was sound and there was a framework put in place to support it going in to the future. If you do not have the experience necessary in order to take on such a project, I'm sure there would be some people that have experience with such projects and would be willing to develop the framework going forward. At first, it doesn't have to be a "take-over-the-world" framework. But maybe just a few ads on Reddit or or Facebook. Something to get people involved with the branding of the coin. My second suggestion would be to move the logo away from the Internet Explorer symbol reference (even though it is a very well designed logo.) So who's with me? Does any of this sound like a good plan to move forward? though i find stuff like that somewhat silly, i have to say we are at least discussing the coin and the economics for it and finally no longer a pool-spam, that was getting out of hand
Agreed. The pool spam is super annoying. Something needs to be done about that. I think there is some secret pool war going on, with one pool DDOSing the next pool.... I doubt it. Most pools just aren't setup to handle the loads that you are trying to impose on them. If there was a DDoS you'd be getting packet loss, but there is none. It's just the servers overloaded. There are big challenges with trying to scale over 1Gh/s, trust me, we had to meet those challenges to get to 2Gh/s with Lottocoin. It's not easy! Ryan, plz don't jump to any conclusions, poolerino have backups, but as you know, recovering from a loss of hard drive is a slow and painful process, if you lose an HD but can get the data out of it, it can take hours, if not days sometimes. but they did had backup if i recall Mike's statement. as for a redundant server, that's a question of budget and designing a disaster recovery properly. and i'm sure the guys at poolerino did at least two of the three (backup, redundant server, disaster recovery). it's not their day job handling that pool.
BTW, I'm not affiliate with them at all. it just disturbs me that you try to advertize your pool on the expense of their misfortune. even if you are not doing this by intent.
Sorry if I offended anyone.. that's not my intent as you already pointed out. I just put so much work in to all this and it really makes me upset to see so many pools losing coins, money, etc. Why? Well the reason I put up this pool was to combat all the issues people were having with pools that crashed, or had corrupted databases. I spent over 2 days working without sleep to repair globalcoin when we first went up. Everyone got their coins, every last penny so I know when things go bad, it's tough. I am a miner too. I went through the same pains of having pools "crash" "go down" and all that stuff. I know how it felt. If poolernaino had backups, then that's great to hear! Anybody find it very suspicious that both hackshard and poolerino suffered HDD failures at exactly the sametime?

so much for my 500K Electric :\ I'm sorry for you, I just withdraw 156K Volts yesterday from that pool because of those lags. and that's the second pool who suffer a HD crash, after Poolerino. Didn't they have backups, redundant servers, or any sort of protection??? Wow. That's really sad and I feel terrible for the miners. Hello we've got a 40ms ping and no front end is down. There has been 100% uptime for the past 24 hours. Can you try again or try to ping dedicatedpool.com? Maybe there is a routing issue from your computer to the server because it is absolutely up and working fast. Thanks! Let me know if you continue to have issues connecting.. we'll figure it out between the two of us. And regarding the blocks, sometimes pools get a run of hard blocks, but right after we got about 6 in a row that were between 20% and 60% of share estimates. It's all random based luck but it will change in the next hour. I run enough pools to know how it goes. Coinium ended up not paying out for a few hours. They fixed the blocks afterwards but not the payouts. Would not recommend.
Poolerino was working great, with good payout until they went offline.
Now im on vircurpool, which is also working great.
Why not http://eac.dedicatedpool.com? Ask how many people have had problems with us.. I'd wager none. And if you do have a problem, you can get me within about 5 minutes on IRC. I built this pool because I would always have issues with other pools. My motto if you want something done right, you do it yourself - which I did. Come join us.. we'd love to have you along for the ride. All you have to do is try us once, and I am certain that you will never leave our community and pool system. This is because I do everything possible for our miners, and I treat everyone with 110% respect and urgency no matter if you have 1Kh/s or 100Mh/s speeds. I really want everyone to experience it. You'll ask yourself why you didn't mine with us before. We have a server farm of over 5 servers.
