This is not my doing. Its likely that the wall holder is setting up an even larger OTC deal, at least that's what I would do.

This is absolute madness... must be some crazy market manipulator leading this downtrend
42  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 04, 2014, 07:38:59 PM
I know we've been through this like 5x times, but for some reason this feel differents.... everyone is in fiat now watching the market drop. No one believes in the bubble cycle anymore. No reason to buy Bitcoin. Adoption is done, even paypal has adopted bitcoin. What's next?
43  Economy / Speculation / Re: and we are officially off to test the previous high at around $270 on: October 03, 2014, 11:56:27 PM
Undoubtedly, Huobi will pump bitcoin if it ever falls back to 260ish, like they did on every psychological opportunity this year

IMO it's dangerous to short for a quick buck from here down to 300ish.

That was the most important breakout moment and it was completely broken.
The shape of this rise is very different than the pump and dump bull traps that we had all throughout this bear market.
Obvious trend reversal is obvious.

You say bull trap.

Seems legit.

lol

I'm sorry, I should have been clearer when I said 'Bull trap'. What I meant was:
<humour>
Bull trap.
</humour>
I just figured the context made it as obvious as the trend reversal.

It seemed obvious to me

I thought I'd share this little cool trick for the ones trading on Finex directly via their browsers

To get a very fast refresh interval (every second) of the orderbook (and other parameters as well) plug this javascript function into a bookmark

Code:
javascript:(function({setInterval("update_bids()",1000);setInterval("update_asks()",1000);setInterval("update_rates()",1000);setInterval("update_orders()",2000);setInterval("update_positions()",4000);setInterval("update_wallets()",2000);})();

I found this interesting but why are you updating orders every 2 seconds and positions every 4 secs? I don't use orderbook so sorry if this seems like a dumb question.

Unrelated:
"We've come too far to give up who we are. So let's raise the bar and our cups to the stars." - Daft punk

not a dumb question. they're arbitrary numbers. Smaller delay = more data to download from bitfinex

Darkcoin (DRK) up 30%. It's officially higher than LTC now, and will probably remain so. X11 is simply better than Scrypt

You should start selling those pretty soon.

I don't own any unfortunately. In fact, I've never owned any, period. I'll never buy an instamined scam-coin, but IMO most people will endorse it as the next "LTC" for the X11 algo

what do you think about Ripple ?

mah87, whats the inside scoop on ripple (Jed bailing)? its crashing hard today, down over 43% according to http://coinmarketcap.com/xrp_7.html

https://xrptalk.org/topic/2642-arthur-britto-co-founder-and-chief-strategist-response-to-jed-selling-news/

"the short-term price of XRP does not hinder our ability to execute on the vision. Our company is well-funded. We're not dependent on XRP."

In other words, it's going to crash

hasn't china's actions been muted by now? they have cried wolf way too many times. i'm guessing the price reflects china's on/off stance with bitcoin, and the only way it can move the price by now is by making positive news for bitcoin. i guess they could release good news, and then grim again just to mess with the price.

No. This is not from PBOC. This is above PBOC and they can basically close/regulate the exchanges at their will for violating the rules of the PBOC. Remember "Bitcoin" is now on the blacklist since last week

Again, nothing  to be scared about for now

Oh fuck. Here it begins. News released on Caixin 10 minutes ago, no drop yet;

http://finance.caixin.com/2014-05-23/100681276.html

To make things clear, this is not a Bitcoin exchange, but it is similar

From Google Translate, I can't see any relevance to bitcoin at all.

See my post above. Take my opinion with a grain of salt, this isn't even something I've found on forums, it is my personal research

any chance we could get a human translation? or just a summary?

thanks

Nothing to be scared about. It's just an update to their latest "blacklist" development to exterminate corrupt businesses. The company (not an exchange) received a warning from the Commission that they were violating some rules and needed an investigation.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bitcoin exchanges starting receiving these "notifications" as well
