DEV,

What kind of services are you looking for? Shops? Games? Anything in particular...
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed coin. New exchanges added! on: March 24, 2014, 07:20:52 PM
we don't need any more BTC into mintpal
we're entering for sure within the next 4 days

what we need is more places to spend the coin.
most of the better stuff requires us to be in a serious exchange,
but with other smaller services it's just a matter of reaching the right people

we have a big pool of unused bounty coins we can spend and want to spend,
please reach out to people you know Smiley
we can also tip whoever makes something happen

dev ill take some bounty please!

fair @ fF3rud5d5DP66DqSp4hRzTDgqjt4LufvLn

o7

bounty for what?
sorry but i'm not going to remember anybody by name, just too many people

I can confirm he deserves some bounty for his mining job. He mined 500kh/s for about a week, straight, with no donations

(btw, same here, I mined average 1mh/s for 3 days, but I don't care)

Hey everyone,

I know I've done many wrong things to this community, and I'm very sorry about that.

But It's still very hard for me to ignore the progress of FAC as I've invested so much time in it.

If you guys are willing to move on, I'll invest 0.4BTC into the FAC Mintpal POT by tonight (will post TXID), leaving us with only 1 BTC left of donations to reach position #1.

How does that sound?

Let me know!

Oh my god.

I dumped at 0.000103 instead of 0.00103. Lost 2 BTC. Congrats to those who profited.

I really have to think that someone who bragged about botting shares of the coin(350,000 which was later denied), tried to charge people to keep the block chain in order, and now has killed the votes that have been worked hard for by botting at mintpal is more of a problem to your community than anything.
There are other exchanges, but don't allow the guilt to be place on Mintpal for trying to keep their vote system somewhat fair.
Hopefully it doesn't slow down your profits too much. That's what this coin is about right?

So this is not really fairly distributed coin after all because the guy involved also used his botting skills to gain more shares of Faircoin the same way he did with Mintpal votes. The greedy dude wants huge profit from his cheating ability.

Just to update: All my accounts have been banned, the security update by MintPal should block all bot voters from now on. I don't know what will happen tomorrow.

I know that FAC has strong chinese backing and a good community here also, so you guys will prob. win with legit voting.

As for me, I think you can forget it, I'm out. I completely fu**ed up. I won't post/contribute anymore as I think I am detrimental to this community.

Good luck.

Why the fuck do you bring this to the discussion? Oh my god. Now I have to answer those questions AGAIN?

I tried to charge the people? NOPE. I asked for DONATIONS, idiot. I mined 2mh/s for literally 50 HRS NON-STOP, then put 300kh/s for 2 days. I am the one who requested a new pool (fair.poolest.com) because the blockchain was frozen.

I killed the vote? READ AGAIN, IDIOT. What if I wasn't the bot voter? Would FAC share the same fate as today? YES. So I am not to blame here. (this is based on the premise that there are multiple bot voters, as stated by Jay. If that isn't true, then Jay is to blame here)

Profits? I have made absolutely ZERO profits on FAC. Actually, negative profit. I donated 0.1BTC, lol.

If you want me to quit this community, then so be it. I'm done here dude. I'm the one who has requested the addition of FAC on over 9 exchanges, (Bittrex accepted FAC because I requested it via IRC/Bill@bittrex.com). Probably Coinmarketcap too.

Are you really this childish?
Man up to your actions and take responsibility.

There might be other botters, but they didn't play such a two face game on this forum, you were only trying to support this struggle because you felt guilty our hard work goes down the drain because of YOU.

You don't get it. You beg and plead to Jay over IRC to not punish the community over your actions. But you don't get it. He's enjoying your turmoil in that chat log, it's not about greed, it's about seeing your regret and letting you suck on it. He might actually let the FAC off the hook but he just wanted to teach you a lesson.

Now stop being a bitch about it and just say out loud, you fucked us over, sure there were other botters, but YOU AS WELL.

In Bold:

Then he's wrong. He has no morals. Sociopathic tendency. I could have simply dismissed the entire case, never revealed myself and drive FAC back down to 21K votes. Still, I care about community support, so I begged, true. Begging was only one of the various ways I've tested to make him react. Honestly, I don't think he will review the 80%, because he's a greedy ****** who doesn't even want to answer a simple question to the community. It's not about me anymore here.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed coin. New exchanges added! on: March 23, 2014, 01:53:44 AM
That no one would notice 120 accounts showing up from nowhere on 10minutemail accounts and puking votes?

My technological intuition tells me that this kind of voting system should keep low overhead in order to preserve network bandwidth/too much computing resources. Requesting a vote simply sends you a json format value table, and I don't see why they should track thousands and thousands of votes, especially for thousands of accounts on the website. So yes, I was wrong on this one. Jay told me that people did this but they only started tracking 48 hrs ago, so I got f*****

Also, the fact that they didn't block TOR/allowed multiple registration/IP and allowed registration via 10minutemail.com (LMAO) left me to think that they were incompetent and didn't bother checking such little details

Lastly, see BitcoinScrypt. 100% bot voters.  Yet, Mintpal didn't care.

Well it just prove that even if a member admited his wrong, you are punishing the whole community. I am done trading on mintpal personally its a good exchange but from a greedy admin.

Taking advantage of this situation to punish the community in order to receive even more bitcoins on voting.

What ever your trying to expose i personnaly dont care your as greedy as they come. Careless of your members thats what this story has proved.
You've been asking for proof and we have delivered it, especially after he tried to defame my character.

We're not looking to receive more bitcoins (come on, we've dismissed a 2 BTC bribe attempt by the botter), we just want to create a fair system for all and that does mean having to penalise anyone who is trying to cheat.

We will review the vote reduction tomorrow, but I can't make any guarantees at this point.

Bold: 8K votes loss (with 119 accounts) vs 30K votes loss? What are you trying to prove Jay? Your unprofessional-ism and your inability to make rational, non-greey decisions?

Underline: That was a lame attempt of mine to see if you would react to money decisions. I wouldn't ever give you 2BTC, I don't even own that much FAC to make this decision profitable for myself, idiot.

Italic: False. You told me multiple times you won't consider the decision ever again. So fuck you.

Instead of answering bs concerns, please write about the 80%. Please review it and I'll stop blaming the exchange. What the fuck do you want, seriously?

Glad to see Jay is watching this thread.

Now that things have come to light maybe there's a chance at a resolution that would make everyone happy.  Clearly faircoin had some unfair voting behind it however
i'm sure Jay can see the coin has strong backing both from the reaction here and from earlier in the thread.  Perhaps if the rest of the faircoin community banded together for
some serious LEGIT voting once it's available again and showed that the coin would be a great addition we could get it added without it needing to be #1 on the charts.

Read the 2 previous pages.

TL;DR Jay is a greedy owner who doesn't care about community support.
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed coin. New exchanges added! on: March 23, 2014, 01:13:52 AM
Nope. That's not what he told me. He will remove the automated votes in the future, but the 80% is fixed in stone for the 3 coins he listed

Here is an excerpt (the very last part) of my conversation with  Jay, dev of Mintpal:

(This conversation depicts the attitude of Jay who runs Mintpal. A greedy, unresponsive piece of shit)

And then I asked him for a refund of my donation

https://i.imgur.com/84NFHve.png

I agree I was somewhat agressive, but man, he didn't want to share any thought on the 80% number. Fixed in stone. He didn't want to give me a # of bot votes (which I personally approximate to be less than 10K, for sure). I couldn't get anything out of him
I had a feeling he might do this. Ladies and gentlemen, this is one of the users who admitted to using 119 accounts to vote systematically for Faircoin.

Since he has decided to selectively show parts of our IRC conversion, I've posted the full unedited version to pastebin linked below, which includes him admitting to it and later trying to bribe me with 2 BTC to add FAC back after much name calling. I have nothing to hide.

Make of it what you will.

I'm speechless.
y3804, what have you done to us...

What, am I to blame? Look, let's take this from another perspective. Let's say I wasn't the bot voter. Why would he strip 80% if the bot voter only voted ~8k times?

I even tried to make him change his decision before even revealing my identity. He didn't care.

Remember, this isn't about ME. It's about your votes. I personally wished for the vote counter to go a little bit faster (and it looked quite legit to) so I set a fixed 600 votes/hour. However, him stripping 80% is unacceptable.

"80% lost because of you"

Well, why do we lose 80% in the first place? Business decision. Mintpal owners are greedy bitches. Him only stripping my votes (because I could have done this for any coin, frankly, even PopulaceCoin) would give FAC an additional 25K votes instead of 21K votes total.

Jay doesn't even want to answer to the 80% concern, even after posting the log. You're fucking ridiculous Jay.

Sure, but why don't you sit down and write about the 80% arbitrary percentage? I want to know WHY you don't strip MY VOTES and leave the rest. I bot voted because your system ALLOWED for it. (i.e. Was easy to bot vote. absolutely no preventive checks but 1 transaction. lmao.) and now you punish an entire community for my actions. That, I fail to understand. so fuck you Jay

BTW the 2 BTC bribe was a fucking joke. I wouldnt ever give you 2BTC, Jay. I wanted to see if you would react to money making decisions
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed coin. New exchanges added! on: March 23, 2014, 12:57:14 AM
Guys, do you know what this means? All you need to do now is bot the competition and mintpal will ban them... this is like taking candy from a baby

No. Now Mintpal has implemented bot detection which will remove the votes from the bots as they vote, so that strategy won't work. However, his 80% strip percentage is completely arbitrary. I asked how many bot accounts, he didn't want to answer, bot votes, didn't want to answer. He just applied the 80% to all three coins with absolutely no reasoning behind it
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed coin. New exchanges added! on: March 23, 2014, 12:48:56 AM
Good news -

I just received a message from Jay through email saying "we can now remove the exact amounts found to be added by bots for all coins".

So I guess 80% is no more.
They will just remove the automated votes!

Nope. That's not what he told me. He will remove the automated votes in the future, but the 80% is fixed in stone for FAC

Here's what I am suggesting to the Mintpal devs;

Your security protocols need major improvements.

1. Why are you allowing registration with pro-spam email domains such as 10minutemail.com?
You should only allow domains which require comprehensive verification (i.e. referer, phone/text verification, e.g. Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo).

2. The one transaction requirement is BS. Please consider adding an account creation date requirement of at least two weeks.

3. Why are you allowing more than one account / IP address? I was able to register multiple accounts on a single network (I never tested the upper limit, but I assume you failed to implement a check). CloudFlare is not a smart bot detector

4. You should ban VPN/TOR nodes, (I see they AREN'T banned). I'm able to access my Mintpal account from TOR.

LASTLY, I would highly recommend stripping ONLY the bot votes (i.e not sent from a verified anti-spam domain, not a fixed IP location, etc.)

Destroying a coin's reputation for its bot voters is completely unacceptable.YOU failed to implement checks to ban bot voters. Don't shift the blame on the entire coin community.

If you fail to answer my concerns, I'll stop trading at Mintpal entirely.

Not quite big thing stop one day apply or just start again.
Grin We have big community nothing serious.
We recovery from dead last time, this time we wil overcome unfair
Regards Fac china

Exactly. I'm speaking to Mintpal devs atm and asking if they can try to remove only the 'botted' votes and keep the hard work.

Don't panic. We're a big community with legit workers here.

I e-mail them not to remove the BTC vote (at the very least!), otherwise they are thieft
Everyone should do the same.

Only the public votes are stripped, not the BTC votes
