What are some good settings for a Asus 280x?
I am having quite a bit of hardware errors. Never had any on 0.5.3.
(4) Asus DC2 280x 8GB of Ram
The settings below were the same as used on 0.5.3, but I changed intensity: 13 to it's equivalent rawintesnsity: 8192.
Did I do that right?
{ "pools": [ ], "gpu-reorder": true, "auto-fan": true, "gpu-fan": "50-100", "temp-cutoff": "95", "temp-overheat": "85", "temp-target": "75", "rawintensity": "8192", "vectors": "1", "worksize": "256", "lookup-gap": "2", "thread-concurrency": "8192", "shaders": "0", "api-listen": true, "api-port": "4028", "api-allow": "W:127.0.0.1", "gpu-dyninterval": "7", "gpu-platform": "0", "gpu-threads": "2", "gpu-engine": "1070", "gpu-memclock": "1800", "gpu-powertune": "20", "log": "5", "no-pool-disable": true, "no-submit-stale": true, "queue": "0", "scan-time": "1", "expiry": "30", "scrypt": true, "shares": "0", "kernel-path": "/usr/local/bin" }
Your GPU's shaders are 2048, and I see that you currently use an intensity of shaders*4. Can you try to set your rawintensity @ (2048)*3=6144 or (2048)*5=10240 and see if the HW errors go away?

./vertminer --scrypt-vert -o startum -u user -p pwd -I 12 --thread-concurrency 4096 --shaders 2048 -g 2 -w 256 --auto-gpu -->185kh/s per 7970 no HW
./vertminer --scrypt-vert -o startum -u user -p pwd -I 13 --thread-concurrency 4096 --shaders 2048 -g 2 -w 256 --auto-gpu -->330kh/s per 7970 100% HW
I have the same bad hashrate with vertminer 0.5.4pre and vertminer 0.5.3...
When you use I -13 and TC=8192, does it create a "4032" bin file? After rebooting the rig, I manage to pull 4x7970 at 250kh/s each. But I can't set vertminer above intensity 12. Yes, I have a 4032 bin file. Mobo Sabertooth 990fx r2, processor AMD fx 4130, ram 16Go, 4x7970 Spahire Radeon Dual-X. Ubuntu 13.10 64bits, ADL_SDK_5.0, AMD_APP_SDK-v2.8. As you can see I 13 produces tones of HW errors... ./vertminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum-us.trademybit.com:2220 -u sshiva1172.2 -p 123 --nscrypt --auto-fan --gpu-fan 50-75 -I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192 You can see my hashrate with all HW, you can also see the 4032 bin file generated on the bottom... Have you tried adding -g 2 to your startup script?

Has any 7950 owner observed any performance boost while using TheKev's build over classic ones? If so, using what kind of values on their .conf file?
As far as I can see the Kevminer is more stable then the official one. As to your question what value's I am using (I've got an Asus 7950): rawintensity: 1048576 threadconc: 19712 gpu-engine: 1000 gpu-memcl: 1500 gives me a nice 290+ khash, without any hardware errors whatsoever. Hope I could be of help. Thanks a lot for your input! For the past ~12 hours I am running stable 4x 7950 (Sapphire) @ 290Kh/s all undervolted @ 1.094v, using the following: engine: 950 memory: 1325 rawintensity: 7168 tc: 8193 Temps are (without any extra fans): gpu0: 73,9 gpu1: 58,9 gpu2: 73,4 gpu3: 70,8 I will keep those setting for a few more hours and then adjust a bit, since it looks like there is a lot of room for testing using rawintensity.

If it helps anyone out there:
xfx DD R7950 = 375k/h-380k/h Hits 380k/h-383k/h with primary monitor off... Temp= 73C fan sits at 47% 0 REJECTS 0 H/W after 2hrs
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 vertminer --scrypt-vert -o pool:port -u user -p pass --lookup-gap 2 -g 2 -I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 6912 --auto-fan --gpu-fan 30-75 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-overheat 85 --temp-target 72 gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1070
Hope this helps -J3TW4V3
I tried this and got a lot of HW errors on my XFX. got a picture for proof? GPU0: 7950 GPU1: 280x still working on config 26hr mining results with my current config -J3TW4V3 It's impressive how you manage to get that high on your 7950. I can't get over ~280Kh/s on my Sapphire 7950 Dual X with any of the combination I have tried so far.

I have the following settings on my 2xGigabyte 7950s setup (I got a couple of cards n the shop): ./vertminer -o startum+tcp://stratum.vertco.in:8080 -u -p x -I 13 --thread-concurrency 14777 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 these are the best settings I can get without getting HW errors and all I get is a whopping 327 mhs !!!! Apparently everyone has r9 280x now, so I have been having a lot of trouble trying to get better settings around here Would be awesome if more people published their configs for 7950s Cheers! That's not bad. Remember hashrate is half of normal scrypt. Going to try your settings as mine (posted some 20 updates ago) got me a good 250Khs on HD7950's. I'm getting 163.5 khs per card! not 327 hashes each ! I used to mine @ ~650 dogecoin so I am currently mining @ 1/4 of the normal scrypt currencies :-/ That explains why I couldn't get it to work properly. My HD7950 (XFX's) config again, for 250+ Khs each: ./vertminer -o blabla -u aa -p bb --failover-only -I 19,19 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 16384 --gpu-powertune 5,15 --gpu-engine 1110 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-fan 30-90 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --scan-time 30 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-overheat 85 --temp-target 80 --api-port 4028 --api-listen --api-network --api-allow W:192.168.1/24 Weird! I get a TON of HW with your settings. Guess I'll be sshing from my morning classes to get a clean install going and give it another try Try adding -g 2 to your batch file and post your results.

I tried to compile vertminer 0.5.3 in ubuntu but I get this error: api.c:1418:7: warning: format not a string literal and no format arguments [-Wformat-security] ); ^ CC vertminer-logging.o CC vertminer-driver-opencl.o CC vertminer-scrypt.o scrypt.c:359:1: error: unknown type name ‘cl_uint’ static void scrypt_1024_1_1_256_sp(const uint32_t* input, char* scratchpad, uint32_t *ostate, const cl_uint n) ^ scrypt.c: In function ‘scrypt_regenhash’: scrypt.c:414:2: error: unknown type name ‘cl_uint’ cl_uint nfactor = 10; // scrypt default ^ make[2]: *** [vertminer-scrypt.o] Error 1 Any ideas?

Getting around around 290/300 kh/s with 7950 sapphire dualx with boost 3GB No HWs
-I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 1.187V VGPU
Hi! What are your overall system specs and OS that you currently use? I have the same card but I cant get to get more than 245Kh/s...
