Thank you very much to all of the devs.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unknown National Chain Restaurant to Accept Bitcoin This Weekend on: September 16, 2011, 12:32:22 AM
We're in a recession. If a chain get gain a slight edge with minimal effort, it's worth trying. And if they're supposedly only trying it at three locations, it doesn't sound like much of a stretch.

Still, with so much drama and bad news, I can understand anyone being skeptical.

Excellent.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized internet - and what it could mean For Bitcoin on: September 05, 2011, 04:28:01 AM
This reminds me of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netsukuku

I don't know if anyone's still working on it, but it sounded neat.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Conference 2011 NYC on: August 23, 2011, 02:04:51 AM
It was a good event. The presenters did a great job.

It was great meeting so many people willing to talk about something that everyone else I know either wouldn't understand, or has heard enough of already. I learned plenty.

It was amazing to be at a conference where people flew in from all over the world to discuss an industry that didn't exist a few months ago, and which has such potential to improve the world.

No one knew what to expect. Apparently most people registered on Thu, Fri, or at the door. It's easy to blame Bruce for over-hyping the event, but it's much harder to put yourself out there and organize a first-of-its-kind event. Kudos to Bruce.

+1

+1 for the 10% BTC discount you offer.

And I liked your unrelated article: http://vermorel.com/journal/2011/6/8/3-low-competition-niches-in-retail-software-guest-post.html

Good luck.

I would suggest a Miss Mises University contest to boost the institute's popularity.

Candidates please post your pic in this thread.

68  Economy / Marketplace / Re: New Escrow Service - mybitsafe.com on: July 11, 2011, 07:52:00 PM
I charge a small tiered fee of 0.025 BTC per hundred BTC held in escrow.  This means that all deals up to and including 100 BTC are charged 0.025 BTC.  Deals between 100-200 BTC are charged 0.05 BTC.  These charges are to cover server overhead and my time doing support/maintenance, and maybe buy a few beers.

Check your fee schedule page. I think it has some errors.
69  Other / Beginners & Help / Did the bad guys sell to themselves at a 1¢, so that $1k withdrawal = 100kBTC? on: June 20, 2011, 04:51:35 AM
I hope not, but that would explain the crazy price.
70  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: June 19, 2011, 08:54:23 PM
Hi,

I've been reading this forum voraciously since my "enlightenment" - but I've only recently registered.

It's a shame you have to perform this duty of scrutinizing newbies, but thank you for taking it on, just the same.

I don't right now have something that urgently needs to be said. I just know that I frequently do when perusing the posts.

I'd appreciate being whitelisted. I understand BTC. I understand Austrian economics.

If this request is not sufficient, no worries.

All the best.

I'm typically a lurker, so it'll be unnatural for me to pass the newbie posting threshold.

I'm a developer, so I'd love to contribute as a developer. I'm currently struggling with the most scarce of all resources, though.

This project is unique in that it intersects three of my top interests:

Austrian Economics (effectively)
Software Dev
Opportunity for profit

Since the launch.is slashdotting, I've been almost entirely consumed with BTC.

Greetings. 1st posting.

I was initially turned off by BC a few months ago when I heard that there was planned inflation. That's when I stopped listening. Boy do I wish I had taken 30 more seconds to investigate.

Kudos to Satoshi. I'm incredibly impressed at how he put the pieces together.

Kudos to the developers for making it better.

Kudos to everyone on the forum who contributes their 2 cents in thoughtful ways.

I'm really crossing my fingers that BTC takes off. I'm personally invested, but regardless, I know that BTC can and will change the world for the better - and that's even more important.

Cheers,
bc
