Thanks dev.

I've created the conf file and launched the wallet again. I still have the same error message and wallet doesn't sync: "Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade." Have wallet version 0.8.6 and didn't see a new one available to dl.

I've named my conf file "Muniti.conf", checking through console, nodes are added... anything I've been doing wrong?

We are now looking into this issue, as we have tested it and syncing seems to be working perfectly on our end, and there were no other reports on this issue.

So far, 8 people have applied for the Distribution Team. We will be holding interviews starting from next week.

hopefully those employed will use part of the money to buy some muniti 😃

Once they will be termed in and knowledgeable about Muniti, I have no doubt they would want to buy some more apart from the ones they will be receiving in the maildrops themselves.

First official press release by the Muniti Team

We have issued our first official press release:

Please make sure you share it whenever and wherever you can.

Job listings are now up at ETC (Employment Training Centre) in Valletta, and an email will be sent to jobseekers subscribed to their service with us included in the job listings. This is their website:

http://etc.gov.mt/Index.aspx

We are also listed on the largest private-trading site in Malta, which is Maltapark:

http://www.maltapark.com/jobs/jobdetail.aspx?id=19043

We've applied to have the job listings uploaded on some local websites, and the job description basically reads as follows:

Quote
We are recruiting interested individuals to form part of a distribution team on a definite period of 30 days, starting from the 5th of June to the 5th of July, 2014. The team will be responsible for distributing letters to households around Malta. Working days are from Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, for 50 euro a day.

Qualifications / Experience:
- Must possess a bicycle
- 17+
- Ideally should be IT-knowledgeable, although not required
- Must be proficient in both Maltese and English, with additional languages being considered an asset.

More street promotion to follow this week as well.

imo, the person should know how to explain what muniti is when people ask. That should be the basic requirement

That sort of training will be provided to every single person who gets accepted for the job. It is much more efficient grouping the accepted applicants together and giving them a thorough lecture about Muniti, rather than expecting them to know about it when they might be misinformed about certain aspects. To make things easier, having an IT background would be considered an asset.

Make sure to submit a Poloniex request in order to be eligible for this week's giveaway!

Can someone tell me how to mine on these x11 pools? So far I've tried connecting to mun.crunchharder.net and mun.bitember.com using the posted sgminer binary and both tell me the miner is unable to connect to the network. It seems unlikely that both would be down considering the displayed pool hashrate is over 100mh on bitember alone.

I'm using the following options:
Code:
sgminer.exe --kernel darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://mun.bitember.com:3366 -u nipponese.1 -p x -g 2 --worksize 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 15232 -g 1 --intensity 19

Hi nipponese. Did you try forwarding your port to 3366? It could be your firewall or router settings are blocking the connection.

No, but why would it block an outgoing connection? I don't think my machine needs to be listening on that port, right?

It's not commonly necessary but you're the first one to post about not being able to connect to a pool, so might as well try that first.

Today will be dedicated to commencing the recruitment drive.

i would like to get one Muniti's USB.

I'm minning it since the beggining.

If you can show us that you're promoting Muniti extensively or perhaps develop something useful for our use, we will happily send you a Muniti USB straight away.

It was a pretty hot day, and it did serve us as a tanning session as well! Better than that, we were really pleased with the response from some tourists who saw us putting the posters up; one of the team  met a group who knew about Bitcoins and jumped on him like a pack of wolves. The project really tickled their fancy and they promised him they'd scoop some Muniti as soon as they returned home. Here's a few more pictures of the distributed posters:

We are starting the recruitment drive for the distribution team as from next Monday. In the meantime, we would like to wish a Happy Easter to everyone!

We also wanted to add that we have some exciting plans to reveal next week. We are very pleased with the momentum that we are picking up, and that so far every step and every promise have materialised. We hope that you are enjoying yourselves just as much as we are, and may I also remind you that if any one wishes to receive a Muniti USB, we have a few left. Do not forget to vote for exchanges and to submit support tickets on Poloniex.

Some may pass on this one because Malta is a tiny country. That may be the case, but remember that Malta has a larger population than Iceland (aurora). This is also the best effort so far at a country coin imo. Keep up the good work radi Smiley

It is true that Iceland's population is lower, but it is also 330 times bigger than Malta. That makes a D2D system highly impracticable and it also loses much of its efficiency. The high population density of Malta makes it more than ideal for such a project, as word of mouth makes an excellent medium for promotion and makes our recruitment drive easier as well.

I think soon added to Poloniex

It will only get added to Poloniex if you continue submitting support requests:

Bittrex still says Muniticoin on the market list.

Thank you. I sent Richie another email, it must have slipped his attention.

I would be more than happy to show anyone interested around the island!

That's strange. Let me contact the pool operator. Did you mine using your Muniti address?

Thanks.
I'm not using the multipool, but I was just checking the "Paid" tab and all the paid addresses are BlackCoin's Address

You're quite right. I assume that people who want to mine Muniti will simply mine it directly using the X11 algo rather than sCrypt or SHA-256, for obvious reasons. Also, there are other multipools out there which offer a better profitability rate. After all, the primary reason for using X11 is that of efficiency over sCrypt and SHA-256; the idea of multipool will only be appealing to those who own ASICs, and normally persons who own ASICs would have a whole host of them and would be concerned with daily profits rather than long-term ones. Muniti, as stated before, is a long-term project and certainly not appealing to those accustomed to pump-and-dump's, which are the bread and water for those with ASIC farms as they need to earn consistent profits in order to pay off the enormous power bills they receive. We hope that in the near future, Muniti will become profitable enough on the sCrypt/SHA-256 pools as well.

I know I said that today is my "break-day", but I'm trying to contact CoinWarz in order to see whether X11 coins could be added to its website.

Beautiful place. Can't wait to have enough money to pay Malta a visit. Maybe you can show me the local cuisine if I travel to your city, Rad.

Btw, the multipool is paying out as BlackCoin, not Muniti.
