So, staff check / head count! Who is still here? Was there any major management changes, or was this purely a "separation of church and state", if you will, to disassociate the huge mass that has become the "Bitcoin Forum" and the official Bitcoin project domain?
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Flexcoin Invites on: July 31, 2011, 10:04:18 PM
passwords now at 20 characters, as suggested in the forum.

That's a bit extreme as most don't have a 20 character password...

How difficult would it be to make the email address you registered your login instead? Keeping your ID just for internal payments?

technically it's 6-20 characters... so people can make it as easy or as secure as they want....   i'll see what I can do about that..but I think at some level it becomes too confusing to people.

Are you going to answer my question of how you are insuring the interest accumulated? Or are we just gambling that the house will have made enough on their rake to pay the betters? Wink
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Flexcoin Invites on: July 31, 2011, 03:02:02 AM
There's always enough to make interest payments.    Bitcoins can be divided to fractions of fraction of a fraction...

Regarding the advice that some people provided.

Now after 5 failed attempts at logins it disables you for a period of time...    That was suggested yesterday and I wanted you guys to know that we're taking your advice seriously... and implementing it.

We're also going to increase max password length...  and invites will be removed either by end of night tonight or tomorrow AM (EST) ...   Meaning that it's going to be open to everyone...

What I am asking is how are you guaranteeing the interest? Just because you say it is doesn't make it so.

Heh. Well least it wasn't a flat out scam. That's what I originally assumed. I wonder what really happened with this guy  Huh

I agree. I just hope whoever gets my order is willing to trade around, or dodgrr is willing to rectify it.

He said he had a myriad of personal issues which probably ended up with him being stressed out and mailing stuff out as fast as he could, even if the recipients were wrong.
345  Economy / Goods / Re: Resin Bitcoins SOLD OUT!! :D on: July 30, 2011, 10:28:54 PM
Ah the clearcoin was a gift? alright guess he got the right thing then. On one of the plastic bags he also wrote 1/10. Not sure if that has any significance or not. Either way, he did receive it.

I think he totally fucked up his orders. I received the #2 Encased Resin Bitcoin, whereas I should have received #3, a set of individual coins, and a clear coin. :/

You will not do fractional reserve banking, correct? Do you have that in your TOS? The insurance won't mean a thing.

I think this would clear it up for you.

http://www.flexcoin.com/?page_id=148

70% of the fees collected are disbursed to the account holders as interest payments, based on the following formula…

(your account balance / total balance of all flexcoin accounts) * ((all fees collected – miner fees) * 0.7)

To answer your question we don't loan out bitcoins..  way to risky.

Any information on my other questions? You've semi answered about fee schedules, but what happens if not enough transfers are made to pay out interest?

Quote
How is the interest generated? Are you providing loans similar to other banking services, or are you charging fees as with checking services? Where can I sign up for a loan? How are you enforcing collection on these loans?

PS two more questions, where can I see going interest rates, and how do you decide when and how to change these rates?

I just get a black screen.

What device are you using, and are you using EDGE, 3G, 4G, or WiFi to retrieve news?

Get me out of here,

I have been involved with bitcoin for awhile and would like out of here. I own bitcoinsforcharity.org, bitcoinbodega.com (open source shopping platform) have miners mining and employees working on several other projects.

Thanks

I can vouch palbert, he's my boss. Bitcoin Bodega is a store powered by an OS platform, Coin Cart. :]

Can you provide further details as to what sort of cable would need to be purchased to make changes to the message? Also is there any software to do so?
351  Economy / Goods / Re: [selling] Isk and Plex for Eve Online on: July 29, 2011, 07:10:28 PM
Isn't 1x PLEX = 400mil ISK? Shouldn't your price for 1bil ISK be about 2.1 BTC then?
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin News for Android on: July 29, 2011, 04:25:23 PM
is it a battery drainer like other news-pulling apps or is it rather conservative? "usually offline" is my preference  Roll Eyes

It is usually offline. We are planning on implementing a widget that would be available for an Android home screen, but this would be an on-demand feature you have to enable manually.

@gellimac we have to make our money somewhere. We have toyed with the idea of offering in-app upgrades to remove advertisements as well as explored the thought of other feature adds.

I see we've gotten a couple more 5 stars, thanks! Any suggestions for improvement?
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worlds First Bitcoin Tattoo [NSFW] on: July 29, 2011, 04:35:39 AM
Can you guys please stop debating about whether her body is beautiful/ugly/acceptable/...? Whatever your opinion on the matter is, it's irrelevant. The point is the tattoo.

Even if you say "come on, her body is awesome", you're still being rude. A woman's body is not a product: that your opinion is that it's good quality doesn't make your statement any less sexist.

Hmm, no it doesn't. Calling an African person black is not racist, it's called being observant. Prejudices formed based on that observation make you a racist. The woman obviously is very proud of what she's been blessed with, and regardless of whether or not she is fishing for complements, the type of tattoo this is and the types of tattoos she already has (sleeve, jailhouse "family" tatoo) indicate she likes to at the very least converse about her ink.

OMG, awesome. Do you have any sort of proof of authenticity (picture with him after he signed it, etc) or not?
