How can we prove that you have enough funds to back the trades?

Also why is there such a big spread on the silver/USD ?

I for one am very interested in PoI, Proof of Importance.

PoI IMO could be significant in the crypto-scene. For the first time ever the New Economy Movement (NEM) is attempting to implement an algorithm not based on how much coin you own or how many miners you own. But how important your node is to the network. IMO maintaining the network should be priority in any cryptocurrency. Incentive to maintain the network through "Harvesting" using PoI is beautifully symbiotic. Not everyone can purchase a multi-million dollar mining operation or stake large amounts of money for interest. PoI allows anyone to participate in NEM no matter how much XEM they he or she owns. This allows equal opportunity to everyone not a select few.

I have not looked into it, but anything can be gamed if you have the money right ?

If it is based on reliability and other metrics, people with money could host their nodes on enterprise grade hosting while the common folk host it on residential grade dsl connections that may or may not go offline. Also if everyone can pay for the same access no one would have an advantage so what happens then? I guess the only making money there would be hosting providers.

I don't want to rock the boat and I understand it is not up to you to tell us, but we do deserve an update from Qora about his absence.

We the few that have been protecting/investing and donating to the network deserve this .

With all respect Pondsea, but most of the investors, didnt do anything, especially the big whales, they only dumped each time the price went up.

I understand your frustration, and I also would like that Qora shows up more etc, but there is not much we can to. Let's just be happy that we have other dedicated members, like Vrontis and the AT team, who are doing everything they can to make QORA a succes.

Just ask yourself what you can do and please contribute, so we can make QORA a succes.

Thanks

I am not most.

I have increased my position 3 fold since I invested in the ipo. I have staked my coins proving 10~20% of overall stakes over the last 8 months. I have spent my own money getting the wallet made when no one wanted to chip in and I am a major investor to get at funded.

so I think I have a valid request here.

Hmmmmmm So I have a few transactions pending on Bter.. I withdrew 1 UNITY to test and it completed within 20 minutes. I checked SecureAE and nothing. So I checked the NXT ID and somehow I copied a NXT ID that was not mine (I could have sworn I pressed the "copy" button for it- Doesn't explain that it is a valid NXT ID that is not mine)... So I copied the correct NXT ID from my account settings and made another transaction for 1 UNITY and it's been almost 24 hours and still processing in BTER.

I believe theye are doing it manually so will take time.

Just letting people who get "java not installed error" when running Qora that new Java versions have a full java name "jrex.xxx so to run Qora youll need to edit the . bat file with what java version you have installed

Yes, this change is indeed needed for later jre versions. I was wondering whether it is possible to change the script to autosearch for the jre installed version..

Maybe we can have something like the different java path work around but for this issue instead.

I have also asked MapDB founder about that and he told me to check MapDB Code for thread interrupts.

Also a new version of MapDB has been released

Nice job! Thanks for doing this!  Grin

Okay, I just wanna quickly summarize and tell you what we need to do here:

1. We need to come up with a new workaround that does NOT involve the use of Memory Mapped Files since Memory Mapped Files only works on 64-bit system.  Using MMF is not an option since we need qora to work on all systems including 32-bit.  We need to find out what's causing the thread to get interrupted before all file I/O operations are completed.

rlh's comment got me thinking, and I think that it's possible the client does not exit cleanly (FC was closed while the changes to database were not fully committed).  Since I've only run Qora on 64-bit machines, it's difficult for me to replicate Poloniex's problems and do a debug.  Someone definitely needs to follow up on this and identify which calls are causing the problems.

2.  I hope we can incorporate the following changes before we roll out the next version of Qora wallet - 1) Skerberus' Installer, 2) MMF workaround (for 32-bit system' sake), 3) the new Wallet design Pondsea was working on, 4) encoding method as suggested by deMap.

Keep up the good work, guys!  Grin

Vrontis has a copy of the wallet design Smiley
