1382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 14, 2014, 05:47:39 AM
Another week, another 25% increase in wallets with money in it  Wink

Up to 1838 now

Wallets or addresses? Big difference. There is no way to tell how many unique users if you mean addresses.

Edit: either way, good to see numbers on the rise.  Cool

Addresses with more than 1 qora

1386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 13, 2014, 12:06:14 PM

Low volume & no price volatility is the problem. Qora needs more traders, but nobody buying, nobody dropping price, exchange often frozen.

Did I mention that Qora can be traded on the NXT Asset Exchange? Cheesy

But uno problemo there, sellers are a bit greedy, need to lower prices a bit, to get buyers more interested, just a friendly hint Smiley

I lowered it Tongue

What are your thoughts on each chipping in 0.5-1btc and setting up a bounty for chinese members to contact bter to get us added? We will pay for a tweet/email/qq chat session where it is mentioned and we pay a certain amount.

No one has confirmed how many stakes/ socks he had?

If all were removed why was the latest one and the only one we know of removed from the list recently?
1389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 13, 2014, 07:10:07 AM
big news. it is smaller than bter, but good asian start

I hereby vote for the polo-fund

Can we do something for bter as well ? Is there a voting on bter?
In mintpal I don't think there are chances to have it due to their limited skills (NXT has won once the voting but they said that they have not the skills to integrate it, they support bitcoin clones atm).

I also agree with the with the polo-fund option.

I think it might be better to have a refund list and out of this list we will use the voting system this week to vote on it.

There is no point for someone that had 0 funds or minimal < 100000 coins to have a bigger vote than someone that lost 10 mill...

Know what it says? lol sorry on a mobile atm.

There's not a slightest chance to cover what we've lost. I'd personally prefer to invest 24M in Qora future than receive a few hundred thousand coins back.

Chances might be slim...  but please keep in mind that all known ShareXcoin holding and deposit addresses still have QORA sitting in them.

I agree maybe have polo hold it for us till a certain time in the future.

Moved question to new thread

Dzarmush I think it would be wise to hold the Poloniex funds in escrow for the time being. If someone were to track down the sharexcoin owner there is still a (small) chance the coins could be returned to their rightful owners.

I lost 8M, TwinWinNerD about the same amount, another guy 50M. It's already 66. There were some other people I trust who lost a lot. And busoni only have 24M. There's not a slightest chance to cover what we've lost. I'd personally prefer to invest 24M in Qora future than receive a few hundred thousand coins back.

I lost 7.x mill qora and 0.6 btc

1395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Sia: Siacoin (scn) and Siastock (stk) on: June 12, 2014, 10:55:29 PM
way overpriced

Would you like to justify that? Right now Siastock has a market cap somewhere around $2m, which is in the top 30 coins. But Sia easily has enough potential to overtake all of the trivial coins, which would put its cap above $10m. But the potential here is a lot bigger than that. We're storage in a coin, and we do the storage part better than MaidSAFE, which has a much higher price than Sia.

The only reason that Sia is not worth substantial more is that the coin is not complete yet. But we're very close to having an alpha that people will be able to play around with. I reckon we can have an alpha out by July 1st with file storage (not done), proof-of-storage (mostly done), wallet transactions (mostly done), script wallets (done - at least done as far as alpha goes), and quorum based byzantine consensus (done for a while).

Can't wait :-)

1397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: June 12, 2014, 10:35:54 PM
UF's assertion was he did make sockpuppets but only to pump up interest in NEM, and later deleted them from the list.

I doubt he made hundreds of accounts.  I was on the list in the beginning and it became popular almost right away.

Sorry I'm on a mobile, can you point out where he deleted it from the list , well apart from the sock today?
1398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: June 12, 2014, 10:09:09 PM
I had a few sockpuppet accounts

How many is a few?

People I'd like to ask you not to waste time with QoraKnight and other obvious trolls, even those who are to come. I know I have no right to tell you what to do with your time, but his only mission is to derail this thread and by giving him attention he is being successful. Let us focus on Qora.
Read here for further info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522102.msg7264069#msg7264069
He owns 0 qora and for some reason want us to fail
Please, add him to your ignore list and spend your time on making Qora better
Thank you

Yes, it should be obvious, but please everyone stop trolling, and stop responding to trolls. Are you all 15? Potential users / developers / investors won't read 5+ pages if there are only 2-3 quality posts in them. I don't like to have people on my ignore list if they sometimes contribute good posts, but I'm rapidly losing respect for a bunch of people who I previously had different opinions on (not that you're likely to care, but still).

I'd rather focus on what can be done to move Qora forward.

It has the potential to successfully compete with Nxt and Ethereum in terms of features, and with any coin in terms of adoption and USD market cap. But it has a long way to go, and although the lead developer is actively working on improving stability and adding new features, he can only do so much by himself.

Hats off to the likes of agran who has quietly put together both a block explorer and a chat room, amongst other things. It is initiatives like this which will help add real value to Qora.

Anyone who cares about Qora long term should focus on building an active, constructive, and effective community, and helping that community add real value into Qora. It doesn't need to be official, with a foundation and committees and chairmen; it just needs to be constructive.

Some things that everyone can do:

 - Run nodes. Keep them up to date. Unlock them so they actively forge
 - Use the client. Report bugs. Report feature requests
 - Focus on stability, security, features, value-add, awareness, and adoption; the price will follow

Some things that you can maybe do, depending on your skill profile:

 - Write wiki articles and FAQ entries to help new people out with common issues
 - Write articles about Qora, and distribute them to increase awareness. Promote on twitter, reddit, facebook, industry conferences, and other community groups
 - Build services that use the API. Dice games, block explorers, faucets, node bounties, alias browser add-ons, web wallets, mobile wallets, SMS wallets, etc
 - Give feedback to qora about changes you'd like to see to the API
 - Find ways to support the main qora dev. Run a bug tracking system and act as triage for reported bugs. Work with him to produce a Qora whitepaper.

Despite the last few pages, I'm still positive about Qora's future. I hope I'm not wrong!

I agree, problem is if we left the trolls to be trolls without responding that is what all the new people will see.
