Since i'm new in cryptocurrency. I got scammed 2 times Cry. The investment sites scammed me Btc and Eth. I fall into investing to them because of their promise 100 percent return of investment. then after that happened. I learned my self to study first and to invest to a right place. And i don't let this will happen again.

Yes, it is extremely important to do your homework in crypto-world before investing. Actually, that's true about any investment decision you make.

I remember those Bitcoin $50k-$100k price predictions for 2018 in the end of 2017.. instead, it is $6.6k today and even $20k nowhere to be seen.

That such a sucks article, even the website is not secure, be careful with reading articles in random websites, sometimes they inject a virus for detecting your private key or making you copy their address to make you lost your money

I have great updated antivirus, nothing detected. Been reading news there for some time now because they got great articles. Seems like a legit site to me.

What majorly lead people to getting scammed is greed. One will see a sure consistence way of making more bitcoin, but because it's rather very slow and requires handwork and some know how, they would rout for the easy way out, boom there comes the trap. Scammers are just rampantly looking for easy prey and they will always find since humans don't learn from experience.

Yeah! And what's funny, the scammers are getting lazier too. Look at the site of this scam. No working buttons, lots of errors, etc, and people are still sending their Bitcoins to them.
185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin scams on: September 28, 2018, 01:11:05 PM
I don't care about the assumption that people say bitcoin is a scam because prices suddenly drop dramatically and don't make sense. but when the value is back at the pump, they can only be jealous of the assets we have. so, stick with this situation.

Mate, please read the article first. Bitcoin isn't a scam, no one has stated that here. Rather than it is used for scams and people are falling for them. Again, please read the article and lets discuss it then Smiley
186  Bitcoin / Meetups / Who is going to Malta Blockchain Summit 1-2 November 2018? on: September 28, 2018, 12:35:12 PM
Going to my first blockchain conference in Malta in November. Would love to meet and talk fellow bitcointalk members. So, who's going?
187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin scams on: September 28, 2018, 12:25:52 PM
It's a very old scam and not so new for people involved in cryptocurrency. The sad part is people who fail in the trap, not sure who is to blame here, the scammer or the people scammed. There is an interview online about this scammer, he claimed to make $50,000 daily and hired a dozen of guys to work for him

Yeah, it has been around for a while and it's sad people still fall for it.
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin scams on: September 28, 2018, 11:33:08 AM
if you take a closer look at this issue of sca, apart from the fact that the scammer presents his or her case so coordinated and in a way that is confident enough to have convinced his/her victim, the victims most times have some element of greed in them too. remember that it was not hacking but scamming. so, a little of greed in the victim has made the victim to get scammed

Indeed, greed is driving people to look for more and more opportunities to get easy money and profit, same time not doing any research. That's why scammers scam, they know someone will take the bait.
189  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daily trading or Holding Cryptocurrency for long time on: September 28, 2018, 09:39:38 AM
It (obviously) depends on the cryptocurrency in question. If you are convinced that a coin will appreciate in value over time, why would you risk day trading it?  If you day trade, the short term fluctuations could ruin your profit if you don't know what you are doing. Even the most experienced traders suffer loses from time to time. Day trading is very close to gambling, especially if you don't know how to manage risks.

It is even more true if we are talking about the current market situation. Bitcoin has lost some value compared to the beginning of this year, but still IMO it's the perfect cryptocurrency to hold long time.

This!
190  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Careful with Social Media Tips on: September 28, 2018, 09:37:05 AM
Yes, it can be tricky with social media. You really need to look what accounts are you following and what type of information are they spreading.
I have found the podcasts being the best source of good information. http://www.cryptoandblockchaintalk.com/ is one of my favorites. Educational, exactly how it should be imo.
191  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how often do you check BTC price and how to cope with stress? on: September 28, 2018, 09:31:13 AM
I'm checking the price couple of times a day. I take it as a long term investment, so I'm not stressing about it too much. It all depends what is your goal with BTC.
192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin scams on: September 28, 2018, 09:28:44 AM
I have never been scamed but I know that people are very naive and they will beleive everything you tell them or show them, especialy if they think they might get or earn something in a easy way.
Despite so huge number of scams they still are not cautios and suspicious enough. We need more awareness and education campaigns, ignorance is exactly something that scamers are counting on.
Don't ever forget, if something is too good to be true, it isn't!

I 100% agree with you!
193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin scams on: September 28, 2018, 09:21:33 AM
Scammers are in any field. So everything in this world is a scam? A fork (for eating Grin) can be killed. Forbidding forks? Fraud is committed to people, not bitcoin.

Yes, of course. There are scams everywhere there is a possibility to scam. But, as we are here on a crypto forum, we should be talking about the scams that are about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I think it is important we educate people who are new and do not know all these scams etc.
194  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin scams on: September 28, 2018, 08:50:53 AM
Just read this article, a nice piece about Bitcoin scams with an example - http://cryptofinance24.com/how-not-to-scam-people-p428-171.htm
The example story about one scam there is just hilarious. The scam is so bad, but people still fall for it  Huh Huh Huh

So, have you ever got scammed, or know some good stories to share with others to help them learn from others mistakes?
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where can blockchain help to tackle fraud and prevent scams? on: September 28, 2018, 08:32:16 AM
Oh, that's a great topic. Right now, a big number of failing ICO-s and scams have hurt blockchain reputation a little bit, I think. But, actually blockchain is something that can be used and is used for greater things. I'm working in accounting and I see blockchain as an awesome tool to prevent all sorts of scams, tax frauds etc. Transparency and automatization are keywords here.

I think this is a topic we should have more discussion on.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Story time - your ICO success stories and biggest fails on: September 28, 2018, 08:20:00 AM
I'm very conservative when it comes to giving money to someone. I'm doing deep research of every project I'm interested investing in. So far it has worked out for me. I have taken part of 4 ICO-s and all of them have pocketed me some good returns.
Cool

199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussion: Crypto backed by gold, what else? on: August 17, 2018, 09:33:45 AM
doesnt this go against some of the principles of cryptocurrencies? Wouldnt this affect decentralization? I think it's quite complicated to implement and preserve those key crypto aspects

This!

I mean it would be a nice idea to boost some trust with real assets backing crypto, but USD isn't backed with anything and it still is used and trusted. The trust will come with time and when more and more people and companies accept it as a method of changing value, then the trust comes naturally.
I don't think we should be looking to start backing every crypto with something. I have faith in crypto and I don't think it needs to be backed to be powerful!

I can agree with you guys on this. Was just thinking about the subject and if we do need to back crypto and if it would be good, or bad, and if, then with what. Discussing these things through helps us in many ways, including understanding what we are looking for in crypto.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussion: Crypto backed by gold, what else? on: August 17, 2018, 08:27:58 AM
I think we should have more coins/tokens that are backed with somekind of asset, be it gold or something else. Cryptocurrency haters one of the main arguments is that crypto isn't backed by anything, Bitcoin isn't backed by anything etc etc. So, having crypto assets that are backed with something more than just a faith, would be a good option to build more trust around crypto?

Lets discuss guys!
1. Would it be good for crypto, if we had more coin/tokens that are backed with some assets like gold for example?
2. What other assets could we back crypto with, if we leave out gold or other precious metals?
