281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 12, 2014, 10:46:10 PM
You lost me.

I was about to buy 5 BTC worth until I clicked on the site and read

"Bitcoin and other networks rely only on SHA-256, which was developed by the NSA. The Snowden revolations bring into question the security of SHA-256 and, thus, the true government independence of Bitcoin."

This is absolutely dishonest as  SHA-256 is open source known algorithm studied by independent academics for a decade now. It's irrelevant who was original developer. If we are going to play that game, then
Keccak was approved by NIST  (which is also US govt agency).  Tor was originally developed by US military.  Even the Internet itself is US military invention.

Not buying it when the author starts with dishonest propaganda.

Goodbye
RE the point about the Internet invented by the US Military.
I'm pretty sure the Internet was invented by Tim Berners Lee (British).

Hello everyone,

Please Vote 1, so your HVC will be worth more!!!!!!!!
File>>Preferences>> "Vote on block reward 1"

Also vote 1 on the miner batch file:

minerd.exe -a heavy -v 1 -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.heavycoinpool.com:4333 -u user -p password

It will help make the coin rarer and more valuable.

would be nice if we could get more updates from the devs regarding windows binaries for the pools, marketing, generally what's happening etc. I mean they are who the community is looking to predominantly.

+1

I'm going to try installing Linux on VMware on my machine, and see if I can get the Linux miner working.

You can vote HVC to be added to coinmarketcap on their Bitcointalk thread:

Is there going to be a Windows release of the forked CPU miner that works on the heavycoin MPOS pool (the one that's currently in beta now)?  I've tested using the 1GH miner posted on their HVC p2p pool page, but not getting accepts.

which exchange is better to trade heavycoin:

atomic-trade.com
cryptoaltex.com
or c-cex.com

They all seems very new and I am concerned about security as there have been quite a few exchanges hacked, please can you tell me how can trust these exchanges, how can they prevent from being hacked, what warranty cant they give me?

How did they manage to hacked exchanges, and how do I know it will not happen to the exchanges listed above?

Please I will appreciate your advice, thanks

I've used only cryptoaltex.com.  I can't comment on the other two as I haven't used them.

I've had no problems with buying coins off there, the only "issue" I would say is the length of time it takes for the BTC network to confirm your transaction, as cryptoaltex needs 2 confirmations before your BTC deposit reaches your online wallet.  Otherwise, it's worked very well from a functional point of view.

It is secure in terms of logon as it requires two-factor authentication in order to access your account.  It also requires email or SMS confirmation to withdraw your coins, which can be a tiny bit cumbersome but I personally think it's a good thing as it makes it more secure. As soon as you confirm withdrawal the coins reach your local wallet almost instantly.

Personally, I wouldn't leave any cryptocurrencies in an online wallet at any exchange, I always withdraw to my local wallet and secure it in any way I can, as I have control of it, not a website on the Internet which could potentially be hacked.

Hello all,

I sent and email yesterday to Keccal512 regarding the  below to install my wallet so I can get my stake, does anyone knows if there is now a wallet so I can get my stake, anyone has done it so far and how did it go ? do I have to wait for keccak512 to come to me to do anything?
------

How to claim your IPO stake (procedure 2 stakeholders)

PM keccak512 on bitcointalk.org.  We are dealing with high workloads, so please be patient and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hello,

I still did not get an answer

Please help, will I ever get the heavycoins I invested in? Sad(

Regarding point 2 - the procedure 2 stakeholders will get their IPO stake after the stratum code is released. See this post by nomisugi (one of the devs) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=506774.msg5620938#msg5620938

That's not true because I got my procedure 2 coins on March 8.

I should have wrote "remaining" procedure 2 stakeholders, to quote nomisugi's post.  So the assumption is that some procedure 2 stakeholders have already got their stake, as stated by you.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 10, 2014, 06:33:09 PM
People are talking about Greed buying IPOs. Extremely immature, look at the other side. People that don't mine coins risk their BTC into a project they believe in. You can also say that Miners are very greedy because they want all the coins for themselves to "get rich quick". So just shut up and be positive instead of spewing garbage

too right, saying IPO investors are greedy is like saying anyone who ever invested in a startup is greedy. It's a huge risk and takes balls so when things go really well from IPO investments the investors fully deserve the rewards as they took the associated risks.

I'm not an IPO investor in HVC, but I fully agree in terms of risk. You took the risks, so you should reap the rewards.

feedback after 26h of poolmining with an i5 laptop at 50kh/s. Total Amount of HVs in my wallet is nearly 9, so in the end this coin is not bad! Just to correct my yesterday critics.

I'm mining around 1 every hour on a quad core producing 70kh/s, although I was making fewer than this during Sunday when the top miner on 1GH.com was running at 320mh/s.

Can it be mined with GPU?

I hope it will never be mineable with gpu

We need this coin on a better exchange, Atomic-Trade keeps on crashing Sad

I've had no issues when using cryptoaltex.com.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 09, 2014, 08:27:43 PM

Get this coin on larger exchanges? You say that like we are already on exchanges lol are we on any? I voted on cryptsy.. I like this coin because I can get a lot of it even with limited hardware so if I could get so much then I only imagine what everyone else is doing.. So I think the price of this coin might be pretty cheap but I'll mine it along side my gpu.

Yes its on exchanges 1 is https://www.atomic-trade.com/trade?c=HVC&p=BTC

Finding the devs lazy to update the front page info is all

It is also on cryptoaltex.com

The Problem is that they tried to sell people its fair and unique, but it is'nt and i believe it may be possible but not with a few try to earn everything.

The coin is unique - it has a different algorithm to other coins. We may disagree on whether or not it is well coded. We may disagree about the Devs' motives. We may disagree about the likelihood of a GPU miner becoming available. We may disagree about it being fair. Nevertheless, the coin is unique.

This pooler-cpuminer file shows many infections on the virustotal link (also it's not compatible with the heavy algo), not trustworthy in my opinion.

Aurora coin is more legit than this coin..

I saw a lot of negative commentary on the Auroracoin bitcointalk thread, very similar to the trolling on this thread.  Look where Aurora coin went to before it dropped to ~$20

The Dev's for this coin are a freaking joke.

i think they have done a good job coding this very interesting coin, yes some things are not perfect but thats human. yes this launch seemed chaotic.

yes, one could argue with the 170 btc  and so on, but I still think they did a good job. also read that keccak really needs some rest after all. is that not ok? isnt it good if a community has helping character? I think thats open source! TOGETHER. this dev will be using the ipo fund very well,i am sure of that. well just my 2 cents

and yes, thanks a lot for building that wallet! i waited for it badly.it is essential!!

and 36 hours without sleep for keccak, that's going beyond the call of duty. He deserves a rest.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 08, 2014, 09:36:53 PM
this is f..ing  joke ? 8h mining and nothing?
 nothing to doo for me

I mined over 8 hours solo on a quad core starting at a diff of  0.00012207, and no coins.  I've stopped mining now, just waiting on the pools.

for those of you who think people are selling cheap Smiley... Buy some coins at www.cryptoaltex.com  and spread the word, if you have any issues please contact us on irc freenode..#cryptoaltex or via https://cryptoaltex.freshdesk.com

If you enjoy your experience please spread the word and any nice comments on the forums and other places would be much appreciated.

chiznitz, could you add a total payment box to your site, e.g. If I'm buying HVC it shows

amount e.g  1
amount in BTC e.g. 0.00005
fee  0.18% of 0.00005
*total (inc fees)*

It would be good to have a total inclusive of fees as well.  As it helps to then decide how many coins to buy based on the amount of BTC in your wallet, rather than using a calculator to do so.
