Is someone trying a fork? "InvalidChainFound: Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade."HuhHuhHuh

It's you solo-mining Smiley Do a back up of your wallet file, delete it and start a new wallet with these nodes in the config and when it's fully synced move the wallet back to your roaming folder.

addnode=86.129.169.240:44889
addnode=107.170.71.160:44889
addnode=46.28.205.67:44889
addnode=162.243.35.205:44889
addnode=192.99.46.180:44889
addnode=54.67.33.180:44889
addnode=198.27.80.162:44889
addnode=5.255.66.44:44889

Why the change in port number? Is there a modification to the existing wallet we do not know about? The working ports should be 22449...

Hi Guys, we need to be in this together in order to move this up. The first order of business should be to upgrade our core code to the latest bitcoincore. If there are any among us who are willing to contribute their skill towards making this work in the shortest time possible, we will all benefit greatly. Otherwise, my team is busy comparing the code, and will be submitting the code in due time (scared of over promising here).

TiPS 2.0 is way beyond tipping, we need to smarten up this coin, the code, the people and the will is there. If counterparty was able to incorporate ethereum, we would only be limited by our lack of ideas, or greed. And anyway, who says tipping has to be free?

Glad to hear this ....

Any update of Tips 2.0 progress Grin

Yes, we working on bringing the code up to 0.9.3 of the bitcoin code, when that is done, we will then move to the next step.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on having TiPS handle the exchange of tips/offers/rebates/discount vouchers etc. Currently, these vouchers are not highly exchangeable (is that what fungibility means?), I believe the blockchain solves that problem by allowing them to be communally valued,  monetized and exchanged in a manner that's easy to monitor and confirm. So I could exchange Supermarket points for a hotel discount, or frequent flier miles for a Safari discount etc.

I imagine that would allow sales departments to follow the journey's of their discount's, thus understand their markets, forge strategic partnerships and probably save on marketing costs.

Will get back to you guys when we are ready for a drive through the testnet.

So Mercbay goes into fedoraco.in, no matter what the community thinks or decides? If this is not a pirate move, what is? It would be a total shame when this flounders and fails. The original piratebay devs are working on their own solution (https://torrentfreak.com/how-the-pirate-bay-plans-to-beat-censorship-for-good-140105/), fedoracoin is nowhere near their radar. Other devs within the crypto space are also working on a blockchained product (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=927397.0). We have bigger plans for this blockchain, plans that provide solutions to everyday, everyman problems. Circumventing IP law and censorship is good, but is so pedestrian compared to circumventing the economic constraints that are set in place, by providing viable options to ordinary people.

So using fedoraco.in and fedoracha.in to earn google points and ad revenue may seem lucrative in the short term, but you'll have a very short run.

making remaining coins 1000x more valuable, I have nothing against.
Besides, coins are still being mined, and it would make it so much more profitable.
That's short term thinking, we looking to compete, and this looks like a very desperate move, if not an outright fishy move... Would Mercbay start off the project with the bitcoin blockchain? If they will, and it holds, we can then verify their authenticity. Otherwise, this more or less a predatory move.

Protip: if someone would want to really teach us a lesson, they would push huge amount of hashing power and derail whole blockchain, or
at least push it to astronomically high diff often enough to make us leave it.

By law, if fedoracoin hosts the magnet links to illegal content, the fedoracoin blockchain would be "Aiding and abetting" the dissemination of the said illegal content. And if the "They" find it impossible to destroy the said blockchain, they would just buy off the remaining coins and burn them, wouldn't take a tenth the budget of a feature film to stymie it, thus block further/newer magnets from being posted. I'd repeat, the best solution to the torrent issue is a totally decentralized and distributed system. Either use the peer discovery system by bitmessage/openbazaar, or hop onto the maidsafe network. A blockchain is definately the last place you'd want to host links to illegal content, its a centralized entity, no matter the distribution, its still a single database.

An absurdity that'll bring about real change in the concept of what constitutes a crime or intent in regards to data.

They'll come after the site first to ask questions. It's how they're trained.

Who is "They"? The assumption is that this space is composed of everyone else apart from "Them"? That truly is the worst angle to tackle the issue at hand. An assumption that could turn very costly.

Clearly, your plans for this blockchain run contrary to the plans we have for the same. But since all we have is experimental software, you could do this your way, or let the community have its say. As for us, we are totally against the "pirating" of fedoracoin.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS); New style, new services, same unique features on: January 12, 2015, 04:09:41 PM
Unlike Bitcoin, and if thepiratebay is anything to go by, a blockchain hosting links to torrent files will definitely be a target, it may even be the first "blockchain arrest". Node's have specific IP addresses that can be tracked and brought down. A userspace solution is needed in such a situation, if the bitmessage system does not quite cut it, why not then use the openbazaar system?

Meanwhile, what happened to Leadcoin? Why didn't it take off?

"There's no bloat because of the burn cost."
Please explain the entire plan/proposal so that we can contribute fully.

While the blockchain may be distributed, its still a single entity. One way to attack it would be to bloat it, thus reduce the number of players willing to store the entire block, then take them out. What torrents need is a totally decentralized solution, no single point of failure.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS); New style, new services, same unique features on: January 12, 2015, 02:06:07 AM
1. Why switch the hosting? Does that imply we will be receiving modified versions of the wallets? I'd be much more comfortable with the same host as before.

2. I do not think blockchaining torrents is necessary, though for the sake of experiment, how are we going to handle bloat? I'd rather a totally decentralized solution for torrents such as bitmessage. That way, there is no single point of failure. The blockchain is an easy target.

3. Meanwhile, do we have a running fedoracoin testnet? The first order of business for our group of developers is to upgrade the core to bitcoin core 0.9.3. Are there other's working on the same?

The skepticism in this space is rather contagious. Anyway, we are working on the entire supply chain.

The storage should not be a concern to anyone here apart from myself and the rest involved.

Sorry Saltyspitoon for delaying the deal, but we are dealing a precious commodity right there and thus all precautionary measure have to be considered before moving. It should not come as a surprise to anyone here that I've had to introduce and train the rest of the crew on the benefits of conversion to btc, notwithstanding the "volatility"... (Gold was at one time sold at 10Usd per gram). When we are ready to ship, I'll inform y'all.

Wish you a Happy and prosperous New Gregorian year.

Is this the deal I was PM'd about for escrow? If it is, I need to know some details like who will cover the 1% fee, what exchange rate will be used, etc. Thanks in advance.

Yes it is, will have to get back to you in the next two to three days. Thanks for your prompt response.
94  Economy / Goods / Re: Wholesale Gold Nuggets on: December 20, 2014, 06:05:47 PM
I would not place a limit on the order, if the buyer would handle shipping. But 100gms is the minimum order at which we can ship at our own cost.

The nuggets have variable weights, and do not contain solid impurities. We can ship worldwide.

Salty: How many grams would you need in order to satisfy your testing? We can share the shipping cost (Included in the escrow amount). Though we are yet to decide whether to use bithalo or a human escrow.

I'd be happy to place an order to test in the next week or so, waiting for a CNC mill to arrive so I can make my own graphite molds (cough hint to the community) really I can test with any amount 1g-2g or larger.

I'd prefer a human escrow since I've never used escrow, there are a lot of forum members who have been trustworthy with an obscene amount of BTC, and it would be against self interest to act unfaithfully as an escrow agent, as they will make more money in the long run. I'd recommend TomatoCage, Kluge, DannyHamilton, OGNasty, or JohnK, but I'm open to suggestions if you have any people in mind.

How would you like to do this trade? We have agreed to ship 10grams for testing. Where do we ship to? So as to have a final costing that will enable a start the escrow process.

I'd be interested in some of the nuggets, but please could you explain why you have $10 million+ of gold being stored in a tool box behind a flimsy looking wooden door?

Isn't your question flimsy too? It sure takes a sizeable amount of skin to trade here. Do not worry, even nature doesn't have strong rooms, but we do.

It is said the customer is always king...

The gold is real. Nothing coated or "gamed" there, if I were to use the language.

Price per gram: 35$ which comes to 35K USD. I will take the BTC equivalent at time of trade.

The best way to do this, is by you visiting our facility, so you can assess, assay and then assent to the trade, I figure only "whales" can do that.

For the rest of us small fry, I suggest a collective/cooperative purchase. That way, we can even get the gold to a reputable foundry for conversion into a "user friendly" form (read coins that could easily pass customs without much furore). Well, its an open world, we make it into what we need to live.
98  Economy / Goods / Re: Wholesale Gold Nuggets on: December 18, 2014, 04:40:27 PM
As usual, people always want to scream scam this scam that... Well here are your pics:
1Kg Gold bars 22-23K (96% -99% purity)

Gold Nuggets 22-23K (96% - 99% purity)

Price per gram: Will use the price as indicated on today's list at http://goldvalue.co/23k-gold-price-per-gram/ 35$ Per gram. This includes shipping to whatever location worldwide for quantities not exceeding 2Kg. Anything above that, you are welcome to Nairobi in order to negotiate better terms and employ the services of a trusted courier.

We are willing to send up to 1 ounce of gold to three different and independent firms dealing with gold in the cryptospace (first that comes to mind is digitaltangibletrust.com) for testing and verification. Please feel free to suggest any other reputable firm so we have three separate testing units.

About Escrow, I have links, and reputable people within the cryptospace that can handle and assuage all your fears.

Monday is just a few hours away so your pictures will be delivered. Now about the Escrow, how do we pick whoever is to provide the service? You may trust them, but how do I trust them? And if we really need to go that way then we also need to agree in advance on a third (fourth in this case) party arbitrator, since the escrow provider is enjoined in the transaction, and the laws that will be applicable to the transaction(s).
