I like the name Bitcredits ,but already there was a Bitcredits
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412591.0

Yep, the concept "BitCredits" was my concept, nice to see there are thieves here too huh. I may do a Bitcredits in the future anyway as I feel I am entitled Smiley

Okay where is this evidence to you claiming rights to this concept? what's this concept you speak of?  Bitcredits eh? yeah make one, it should go very because that's where the value is right? - in the name.... strange thing too that you registered one month after this coin was announced. Welcome to the community though, we were missing a pet troll.

Well! Check out the account that created the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412591.0 at January 12, 2014, 07:46:23 PM, well isn't that me? Oh yes, so it is, and as for the VanityWallets account, that also belongs to me? Do you have another argument for stealing someone elses idea...? Tut tut.

So as you can see this account is quite an old one, anything else you wish to add. Should be worth noting that just because something is publicised online, the intellectual property of ideas, naming conventions do actually belong to other people. Never mind some people are too lazy to make up their own!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Virtual Gold - GoldBars GBS - A Cure For Poverty CROWDFUNDER With ROI on: February 05, 2015, 08:26:19 AM
I am willing to listen to and take on board comments that will help this advance, or to ideas that provide genuine realistic alternatives to be able to cure global poverty without devaluing current markets or displacing existing business and industries.

I have happily given the opportunity for people to help crowdfund something revolutionary, beyond the scope of conventional single planet economics, and be a part of changing the lives for millions of people over the world, and ultimately could help influence a fairer global financial system. Crowdfunding is purely a way in which to fasttrack the solution, please be aware;

"Virtual Gold only needs two or more countries from the registered countries of the United Nations to accept, endorse and approve our strategy and platform to be able to commence creating wealth. By the same token, it would only take two or more countries outside the United Nations to accept, endorse and approve our strategy and platform to commence creating wealth. With over 190 countries to approach for consideration, it is likely that between 5 and 10% particularly poor countries will be interested in working with us."

The suggestion about involving and getting support from charities by way of endorsement has been taken on board, a presentation is being made at the moment which can be delivered to charities, again this is being done out of my own personal time and money and will take some time.

We have also contacted television about appearances on topical programmes which will keep everyone updated on.

Thank you for your support!

Face palm, this is not the way to go if you really cared about poverty you would need no crowd fund to accomplish a coin that any dev fund would be paid to a legit charity, if you led the way maybe miners and investors would help also.

The first thing really you should have done is just asked "can i ask why you are crowdfunding because it looks like it would pay for itself?"

Here is some information first of all about crowdfunding;

1) We have placed a basic crowdfunding of 10 to raise to pay for legal fees for negotiation with governments, court fees and any licensing fees (which in fact may cost millions)
2) We have stated that for a fund of 50 IF the project is successful that 50 will be returned in full to the donator.
3) We have stated that for a fund of 100 IF the project is successful that 100 will be DOUBLED and returned to the donator.

The reasons behind this are that if the appointed legal team is successful in establishing Transit State Commodities as a way in which we can soundly and economically cure poverty and prevent any future financial crisis we would have the ability to issue money to crowdfunders. That would be part of the licensing.

At the end of the day, I created Virtual Gold (Transit State Commodities), I created Aerarium Universitas (the worlds first and only global treasury to issue such commodities) and I will make the decisions on the application and running of both, it is that simple. Unlike governments and banks, I am not doing this to make money, it is to solve a purpose and that is the world needs ALOT of money.

Secondly

It is not a "coin". It does not serve the purpose of providing a way for people to transact currency. Virtual Gold is designed to be stored and invested into new or existing digital currencies depending on future markets. For example if we create a new coin, lets call it coin A, with 100 million units, we only need to store 200 GoldBars (GBS) locked in a central vault to give INSTANT value of $1 each to those coins. Those coins would either then be used to inject into welfare, homeless, jobless OR even be used as pay for particular jobs.

Everybody wins with this, because it helps people through every class system.

Thirdly

I created all the websites, I have done all the ground work, and paid for all fees so far (from personal funds) in all development and appliation so far that exceeds a value well over 50,000. I am giving the opportunity for people all over the world to contribute (thats 100,000 people to donat 10) which will then be ringfenced to pay for all legal costs involved with persuing obtaining licensing. European finance lawyers, patent applications, international trademarking and protection all cost an absolute fortune.

Fourthly

I have been mining and participating in digital currencies since mid 2013, was at the launch of Dogecoin, and have the following;

Small amount of BTC
2,000+ DMD
1,000,000 Doge
1,000,000 Digibyte
10,000 IOcoin
and various other digital currencies.

Sure, they may be worth something, and I may earn a nominal living from running Virtual Gold and subsequent organisations, but at the end of the day the world would be $127 trillion+ better off and people wouldnt have to drink crappy water or look through trash heaps for dinner in third world countries.

Take away everything and the most important things are family, friends, a roof over your head, food, hot and cold water, a shower - we should all have this, which is why A Cure For Poverty was created.

IT DOESNT MATTER TO ME WHETHER CROWDFUNDING IS SUCCESSFUL OR NOT ITS NOT ME THAT WILL LOSE OUT BY NOT HAVING A CURE FOR POVERTY, I WILL CONTINUE REGARDLESS BUT INSTEAD OF TAKING 3 YEARS TO ESTABLISH IT WILL TAKE 10+ . IF CHINA, IRAN OR KOREA FINDS LOTS OF GOLD IN SPACE AND KEEPS IT TO THEMSELVES THEN ITS GAME OVER FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD, THINK ABOUT THAT...

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Virtual Gold - GoldBars GBS - A Cure For Poverty CROWDFUNDER With ROI on: February 05, 2015, 07:53:34 AM
Obvious scam is obvious...

Create some partnerships with charities that are verifiable and you might be considered lmao

But, probably not... so don't get your hopes up. Seriously flawed logic, meaningless research, and utopian fantasies. (Have you considered the fact that if we somehow started to mine extensive amounts of gold, the value would decrease? Oh, and let's not mention that basing a currency on a commodity (money) that one doesn't have yet, (and may never have - EVER), is an entirely absurd proposition, and a verifiably unsound economic strategy.)

Never the less, good luck with your project - your going to need it... tonnes and tonnes of it.

Im not sure you understand the complexity of the logic involved. You certainly are making some assumptions without in depth consideration.

Have a real good think about what you are saying and here is why;

"Given, using speculative faith, that there is sufficient gold throughout our universe (that we havnt seen), that one day we will live in space (that is a certainty), and that one day we will harvest commodities on other worlds, the belief is that it is true", and let me tell you why below;

"Give, using speculative faith, that there was a man named Jesus (who we havent seen), who was the son of God (who we havnt seen), that performed some miracles (that we havnt seen) and created a universe (that we havent touched or explored), does that mean that all religions are based on nothing, that they are meaningless, utopian fantasies??

The answer is no. Because it gives people hope, people purpose, and ultimately fills an absolute need for humanity, and that is why this is not a scam, and it will be a reality.

Like i mentioned to other people, 18,000 children die from poverty and disease each day, every shout of "scam", and contradiction is not helping and just delaying the time it takes to help these people.

It is, in most circumstances, unlikely that we will find and harvest gold from other planets within the next 50 years, and even so im small amounts. In fact we are likely to create small off world colonies on mars and other planets or live in space stations in space while we harvest all sorts of resources.

Flawed logic - the logic is not flawed at all. In fact economicaly, it is the only way in which governments and banks would even consider virtual commodities of any kind because there has to be tangibility.
Meaningless research - again, its not. Based on scientific parts per billion of earth there is estimated to be 131 trillion trillion tonnes of gold through the universe, I don't disagree with science.
Utopian fantasies - again, not. If you have a better logical, economic, practical suggestion how to create wealth then by all means share, im all for that.

Decreasing value - again, you are wrong. Because Virtual Gold exists on the blockchain, it is a source of central issuance, that is it can be used as loans to governments, it can be used to provide dedicated funding streams, it can be used to invest wealth in digital currencies, but because it is harvested from other planets technically in terms of planetary economics, the resources found on planets (unless gas) are likely to remain there for on planet consumption. That means there will never be an over supply and because mostly it will be preallocated on the blockchain actually it can be revoked and reissued with a global license.

Additionally, because Virtual Gold, would exist in an entirely separate (parallel) economy mixed only through banking and digital currency, Virtual Gold can be market added at the same value as 400 ounces of gold, e.g. 1:1 goldbar value of $520,000 each unit. This would create an initial cap of $127 trillion with almost infinite wealth available.

The law of the universe is that it gives you what you "need", not what you "want".

If you can think of a better way to cure global poverty then by all means do so, otherwise not crowdfunding means that the process will take around 3x as long due to no finance available, unemployment, etc etc.

Plans to talk to journalists, magazines, television and more are in process.

Obvious scam is obvious...

Create some partnerships with charities that are verifiable and you might be considered lmao

We've estimated that it will cost in excess of 250,000 each year for three years to be accepted through numerous parliaments including the UK, USA and Australia through legal negotiation and obtaining licensing. We have already been in contact with HM Treasury regarding establishing a relationship because we have to obtain a license to print and manage money in each country we want to work in.

We have also been in contact previously with Red Cross International and are still awaiting a response from them.

Further enquiries are currently being made to the Bank of England, Oxfam and other major organisations to support us but these take time.

Rather than shout scam at everything, why not actually take steps to help, time costs nothing.

Did You Know?

1% of the world owns 50% of the worlds wealth.
That's $500,000+ each for 70 million people in the world.
Leaving just $5,400 each left for the remaining 6.9 billion people in the world.

Every day that goes by that the world is not creating enough money 18,000 children die from poverty and disease. Shouting scam isn't going to help them.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Virtual Gold - GoldBars GBS - A Cure For Poverty CROWDFUNDER With ROI on: February 05, 2015, 07:23:43 AM
Scam?

Very disappointed at that comment, Bitcointalk seems to be full of negative comments these days. Not at all. This has been in development for over a year, started by me and a few colleagues when we used to mine and trade with Coinex.pw before they went awol.

It's not a scam. It's a legitimate way to create new wealth in society, the current economy is based around the oil price, GDP, and actually by global calculations gold owned by sovereign states and governments has been more than double spent, in fact it has been spent over 5 times its value which is why all current currencies are devaluing all the time.

Couple of facts for you;

1) Around 18,000 children die each day from poverty and disease worldwide according to Unicef. When the European Bank did not do any quantitative easing in 2007 when the recession started, it decided to wait until 2015? The $1 trillion that was printed (against thin air) could have helped save over 40 million lives in that time. Banks print money to increase GDP and make money, they are not at all interested in helping people who do not contribute to making money. That is a fact.

2) Digital currencies DO NOT make new money. People mistakenly think that proof of stake makes more coins and therefore more money. Wrong! Proof of stake acts as a small consistent quantatitive easing process which slowly dilutes and therefore reduces value in that particular coin. Once digital currencies absorb all world money, the same problem will exist, there is no way in which large amounts of new money can be created outside of the GDP / Debt structure. That is why our strategy is different.

You MUST in order to create money at least borrow against tangible goods.

For example, imagine these steps and apply them in a bigger capacity;

You have told there is your dream car for sale at a garage near you.
You havent seen it but you are told by a reliable source that it is there.
You go to the bank and ask for the value against the car.
The bank give you the money because (a) it wants to make money from you and (b) it is a tangible good that you will be getting at some point in the future.
(its up to you how long you wait before you pay for it)
You then collect the tangible goods which have been pre-allocated and then use it.

Compare that with Virtual Gold;

We need to create new money in society but also establish a way where not one country can monopolise that wealth.
Scientific calculation has told us that over 131 trillion trillion tonnes of gold exists in our universe, a reliable source, we could use that.
Th universe is our bank, we know the gold is there, so we can borrow value against that gold.
We issue the money, some for the benefit of society, the remainder is used to create jobs to fund the retrieval and storage of new wealth.
The governments grant permission to "print" money because (a) it needs and wants the money and (b) it pays for things that the government doesnt have to.
There are no urgent repayment terms, because the wealth is almost infinite.
We then collect the tangible goods which have been pre-allocated and then use it (can be 100, 200 even 500 years it doesnt matter).

This scenario is almost identical, and therefore can be applied to global finance.

Hello! It's Clackersmaracas here, founder of GoldBars (GBS). Now we have an official global strategy we are looking for crowdfunding to a 1 million to pay for legal fees to establish Virtual Gold as a centralised global issuer of new wealth into the global economy to prevent any future financial crisis and ultimately cure global poverty. Need to raise approximately 1million for legal fees to start the process of officially establishing Virtual Gold as a means to cure global poverty and create 100% new wealth - that means in 3 years there would be no poverty, jobs for everyone and a better standard of living across the globe. GoldBars (GBS) is one year old on March 8th 2015Please read below and help us achieve our target! Thank you!!!!

Project aim

The aim is to increase global wealth to cure global poverty using Bitcoin technology by creating $127 trillion+ of new wealth.

About the project

18,000 children die from poverty and disease every day according to Unicef. The World Bank has said it can cure poverty in 15 years. During that time over 98 million children alone will die from poverty and disease, is it fair to make people wait 15 years? Virtual Gold is available now and can cure global poverty within 3 years maximum!

Until the 1950s paper notes were printed against gold stored by the government, over time there simply was not enough gold to print more money so what these governments did was just print more money against the same gold, what this does is devalue your currency but creating more of it, this is called quantitative easing, its done without your permission and makes your money worth less.

There is an estimated 200,000 tonnes of Gold on earth running the global economy, however this is too little, with 18,000 children dying everyday from poverty and disease.

Scientific research done at the University of California calculated that there was as much as 131 trillion trillion tonnes of gold locked in planets and stars throughout the universe. What if there was a way we could use this wealth before we actually harvest it, well now there is.

Virtual Gold was created using Bitcoin Technology called the Blockchain. It is a public ledger that shows every transaction digitally from every owner. GoldBars (GBS), its original name, was created with an initial 240 million units designed to mimic the 400 ounce goldbar, and provide a unit of storage and transaction with each unit existing in one of three states;

Virtual - the gold has not been found or harvested from another planet so stays purely virtual

Transit - the gold has been located and is in the process of harvesting, storage or transporting

Digital - the gold has been stored or transported and thus full value has been applied

Some potential uses of Virtual Gold;

1) Curing global poverty, by printing money against 240 million units could create $127 trillion of new money, with an almost unlimited cap and all transactions available to see through a public ledger NOT privately through banks

2) Funding a global health service creating jobs, better health care, and a universal access to treatment across the world

3) Funding a welfare system that does not punish unemployed but maximises their potential as consumers and contributors

4) Loans to governments to reduce consumer debt with much lower interest lending

5) Investment in space transport, technology, and research to enable us to harvest valuable commodities whilst sticking within the 1967 Outer Space Treaty 1967 as directed by the United Nations

6) Invest in new biological and technological research to reduce climate change, reduce disease, and help grow more food globally

7) Provide funding streams for humanitarian aid and conservation to protect our planet

Cool Cool Provide money to new digital currencies

9) Ensure that all existing investments, currencies and economies retain value without being negatively affected in any way.

10) Create and fund new industries that will not displace existing industries to create millions of jobs worldwide.

Virtual Gold has everything we need to cure global poverty in a responsible and regulated way.

FAQs

What will the money be used for?

The money will be used to pay legal fees to establish the right to establish Virtual Gold as a global source of new wealth. As soon as the project reaches its target 900,000 will be ringfenced for securing the very best legal team to represent our innovation in the UK, USA, Australia and other European developed countries including the establishment of any trademarks, patents or official filings. The remainder will be used for marketing, development and establishing a permanent digital registry.

Are banks and governments involved?

Virtual Gold would be delivered by Aerarium Universitas, the worlds first global treasury, completely independent of banks and governments.

Will Virtual Gold be regulated?

The aim through proper legal process is to become regulated in as many of the worlds 190+ countries as possible.

When was GoldBars GBS (Virtual Gold) created?

GoldBars GBS was founded with the genesis block created in February 2014 using Bitcoin technology. Public launch was on March 08, 2014, 10:38:38 PM.

Where can i find out more information?

You can find out more about Virtual Gold and Transit State Commodities on the official website at www.virtualgold.org

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a technology secured by cryptography that requires multiple wallets to confirm transactions on a public ledger. This prevents fraud, double spending and corruption as it requires much more than just two parties to confirm a transaction to the ledger. For more information visit www.bitcoin.org

How much gold is there in the world and universe?

On our planet there are around 200,000 tonnes of Gold, the worlds total asset and money value is estimated at $75 trillion (around $10,000 per person). There is predicted to be 131 trillion trillion tonnes of Gold throughout the universe, 240 million units of Virtual Gold would create $127 trillion from allocating just 2,721,551.28 tonnes. The difference in value shows just how much money has been printed from thin air, effectively the world has printed 5 times as much money as it has gold, that is NOT good.

How long will it take before we know whether the project is successful?

We estimate that it may take up to three years, and a cost of between 250,000 and 300,000 per year to fast-track Virtual Gold through government acceptance and regulation. We just need two or three countries in the world to accept each unit of Virtual Gold as a 1:1 value of earth gold at approximately $520,000 per unit to establish Virtual Gold and start to cure global poverty.

I think that developers are delivering ideas and finding out that;

a ) it takes alot of work to build a resiliant and valuable community around cryptocurrencies and
b ) it is going to take years and a huge mainstream adoption to provide values

People thing these things will work overnight but they won't, not to mention that each coin has to have a real world purpose, or an existing market, the best hope with alot of coins is that world governments will buy into existing cryptocurrencies, such as might be plausable with Britcoin in the UK.

Personally, I think BIG has a fantastic brand to work with, but needs to move on to a community or new development team to be of future purpose or value, I remember EA years ago used to produce games under the brand EA BIG such as sports titles and even SSX snowboarding.

I was about to buy 10,000 Big from Bittrex today, however with no activity since October, and no real visible path to success I can't help but think it would be a bad investment.

Now I can see why governments are not interesting in regulating the space - basically governments would have to reimburse investment losses from things like this, even when a developer has the best intentions, losing interest is the worst thing that can happen.

Maybe the developer would be interested in passing BIG over to the community for us to rebrand, rework and redeliver, seeing as it is not backed with anything tangible.

I think it has a future, certainly as the founder of Virtual Gold and Transit State Commodities on the blockchain (see www.virtualgold.org) I would be prepared to bring it across to the Transit State Commodities Hierarchy.

PM's welcome, think we have proven that even decentralised digital currencies need some form of centralised trust managament, I setup Aerarium Universitas to do just that, place communities of developers under "one roof" so that digital currencies can be centralised, independently developed, but supported by another team or taken over in the event of failure or dispute, I think it would work well.

I don't think it's fair to "dupe" investors into buying coins, supporting something and then moving on without providing a refund or return, what does anyone think and what do we do?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Ownership of BritCoin up for auction on: December 08, 2014, 11:39:32 AM
Well all quiet so far, I think it was a negative move not working with the Britcoin stakeholders and community for a positive transfer of the brand.

I think working together the Britcoin community could have formed a foundation, attracted some crowdfunding or investment and given the coin some real status in the digital currency sector.

I hope that whoever purchased the website is an active and forward thinking individual or group that recognises its potential and future value in the sector.

It's also worthwhile noting that stakeholders of existing coins, should in conventional rights, have a say in the future of Britcoin and any changes that affect them.

A statement from the new "owners", I would rather use Custodians, would be gratefully received.
12  Bitcoin / Project Development / Digital Currency Seminars UK | Include Your Coin! on: December 08, 2014, 10:45:10 AM
Hello

I am the founder of a couple of digital currencies / assets, namely Golfcoin and I am in the process of putting together seminars to deliver to golf clubs and courses across the UK & Ireland on the subject of digital currencies.

The seminar is based around digital currencies focusing on;

- main digital currencies
- digital currency technologies
- digital currency best practises
- digital currency as daily mass marketing
- golfcoin as a brand primarily for the golf industry
- how to accept digital currencies
- payment gateways
- future developments and roadmaps of selected currencies

Additionally Golfcoin is designed to be a conduit for new wealth via a completely new financial fork backed by tangible commodities such as Virtual Gold (also referred to as vGold, Transit State Gold and Digital Gold) which takes its value from gold locked in planets and stars across the known universe that is currently landlocked, for more information on Virtual Gold please visit www.virtualgold.org.

We have created A Cure For Poverty , www.acureforpoverty.com , which is designed to cure poverty as soon as possible, the world bank reckon it will take 15 years during which time 96 million children will die from poverty and disease worldwide, this is an unacceptable statistic and I believe we can cure poverty within 3 - 5 years MAXIMUM by using Virtual Gold and Golfcoin - this will add NEW WEALTH to society whereas most digital currencies are just absorbing new existing fiat wealth.

One important thing to note is that if digital currencies do replace conventional banking, there has to be a high enough "interest" or proof of stake to ensure enough money is in society but POS will end up being regulated and limited like everything else, having a direct line to print money on global demand through a secondary economy will cure extreme poverty.

If you want to feature your established digital currency and exclusive information in our seminar please get in touch, either PM or official email from your coin domain to info@virtualgold.org.

Thanks alot for your support, and I hope you like the new brand!

Regards

CM

Please Note: Although the original coin was a coingen fasttrack solution, there is a fixed development roadmap and upgrade path to a bespoke Golfcoin system (which may include full POS) which also includes full compliance in the same way as companies such as Bitstamp for money laundering prevention, so for the next few months the golfcoin daemon will be offline and ONLY users that have registered on the official www.golfcoin.co.uk website providing information including wallet addresses (one per person) will be able to transact golfcoin in and out of the web wallet system. More information on developments later in 2015.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [♔] British Digital Currency | 5% annual PoS - Bittrex - Fiat to BritCoin [BRIT] on: December 07, 2014, 11:27:41 AM
LETS KEEP THIS DIGITAL CURRENCY GOING AND MOVE TO BRITCOIN 2.0?

Stakeholders own the rights to the future of the coin, not a developer (unless it has been specifically created by a company) and then if the company went bankrupt, in this case The Queen (or the Crown) would decide what to do with the "asset".

I am an investor of Britcoin, and it is without doubt one of the best digital currency brands out there, it is important that as a community we ensure continuation of this digital currency.

Can we arrange, as a group of people, to get together and form a foundation to move this forward. It is essential that steps are taken to move forward from any racist comments as this is unacceptable in all forms and can actually be prosecuted by the law if someone was to report it.

I am about to buy a further 85000 Britcoins from Bittrex which wil take my stake up to 200,000 which is a substantial stake.

I would be grateful if more members of the Britcoin community can come together to take ownership of Britcoin to ensure its future is continued, an official statement by the original / current developer would be good.

It would be best to make progress in a friendly and professional manner as soon as possible to ensure the future investment of stakeholders is retained.

Comments and contact welcome.

14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Possible Legal Advice For Altcoin Investors on: December 07, 2014, 11:21:29 AM
Hello all

After much deliberation it would seem that most governments will be taking a passive role in guaranteeing investments, certainly until most fiat moves into cryptocurrencies, with that in mind here are a few things to note;

1 Altcoins are owned by stakeholders and not developers!

Unless a coin has been specifically created commercially, by a business, or has an associated trademark in place it is owned by the people that invest in it - it is as simple as that. If a deveoper cannot maintain development of a coin and people have money invested by purchasing or mining coins then I believe it would be the right to sue for losses against developers who cause loss to that investment by failing to maintain a currency. Something to consider. Currencies are supposed to be decentralised and managed by responsible teams, not a single anonymous forum user. Remember if a developer states something different that happens and causes you losses, it would be deemed as misleading.

Much like real life, you cannot declare bankrupt and go about life as normal without paying off stakeholders and creditors, I believe legally this is the same with digital currencies. Anyone who switches off a coin with active stakeholders should feel the full force of the law and be sued for losses. There is real investment particularly by people with little money, so stakeholders should form their own "unions" or groups to lobby people who are unable to carry out work for the community.

So for coin developers who seem to thing altcoins are fun, just pump and dumps, quick money makers, it is likely that you will feel the full force of law and trading standards in future, much like Bufferfly Labs have received for their alleged business practises, if people lose money as a result of scam investments then people will be sued, have no sympathy for developers if they cant accept their responsibility.

2 Rebooting A Coin

A coin is a brand, a trademark. I believe it is poor business practice for someone to relaunch a "dead coin", with the above considered, even "dead coins" have stakeholders and investors who do not have access to continuing the daemon.

I do feel though that, if a developer or team fails in their self appointed duty to maintain and develop the coin for the community, there should be something in place to allow communities to continue the coins or to advance the coin with a 2.0 but ONLY through some medium of dispute with an independent body.

3 Centralising Dying & Dead Coins

Ever since I created GoldBars (GBS) which has now grown into Virtual Gold, the worlds first Transit State Commodity that takes value of gold locked in other stars and planets to enable us to create new wealth to cure extreme poverty I have been concerned with the level of coins made then dropping off, developers dumping coins etc, sure there have been alot of pump and dumps but there are some fantastic coins out there that have been just dropped regardless of stakeholders.

I want to change that by providing a centralised daemon centre, where teams host daemons and a copy of source is centrally stored so that if daemons were hosted elsewhere in the event of failure it can be reinstalled with minimum fuss, re-establishing dead coins that people have invested in and get back all the digital currencies that people introduced and people had invested in. We owe it to people who have invested, those stakeholders to be able to transact coins in the future.

4 Centralised Communities

We need a way in which groups of stakeholders can register themselves, their wallet addresses, contact details (encrypted), and provide proof of stake to a central trusted foundation or organisation so that old and existing coins can easily be managed and rights can be applied to any stakeholder takeover, which I believe would be perfectly legal.

The problem with cryptocurrencies are;

- they are normally founded by one person (some of whom are really bad at consumer rights and customer services) who remain anonymous or uncontactable
- there are two sides to the fence, what the community wants and what the dev wants, leading to disputes, fallout and devaluing investments
- communities take a long time to grow, devs often throw in the towel because its not making them money and without doing community building
- there are around 500 of them and growing, coins have to be established, branded well and have a good community of users and play for the long game
- there is NO BACKUP, independent developers with great brands have no backup plan, hence centralised daemon hosting and copies of latest source stored centrally would be great

Im willing to work with people to make something happen with old and existing coins, i think it is important, just because a coin is not on an exchange doesnt mean it is not of value.

5 Official Stakeholder Groups

We need to establish a way in which stakeholders can form "unions" or Official Stakeholder Groups that represent MORE stake than the original developer. By rights, this would allow community groups legal position to be able to enforce the future of a coin through formal proceedings (i believe so anyway).

For example, after investing over 100,000 in Britcoin, which I believe is a huge community brand for a unique digital currency, im led to believe the developer has made some rather unsavoury comments - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=851004.msg9762594#msg9762594 offending the community at large, for whatever reason, and the responses are of course oh Britcoin is dead etc etc.

It's this which is causing huge concern within communities of investors, I am one of those investors and as such without taking immediate and formal action in such circumstances people lose investment, this is unacceptable which is why I have made some recommendations and want to work with communities for solutions.

I hope that the information here is helpful and helps communities realise they are not just people, you are stakeholders and have rights to investments and maintaining any digital currency, even if the person who created the coin goes bankrupt (and it wasnt done commercially) you have rights to continue the coin asi is.

Any PM is welcome, while each coin competes with each other, it should be in good spirits, in fun, measures of success, we are all in this for the same reason, positive change, lets start to work together.

Anyone wants to know more about Transit State Commodities, grab a look at www.virtualgold.org and see what its about.

Thanks alot lads and ladies.

The twins said this or the twins said that. What does it mean anyway? They can throw out any number they want like Max Kaiser does stuff like 1 million per BTC, yeah it might happen but you won't be here to see it, perhaps your grandchildren will. Then again a coke and burger will probably cost you $15,000 in 2075.

Means nothing, interesting to hear different predictions anyway, keeps the incentive going for some of us.
Lol probably cost $15,000 for a burger next year the way the world economy is going! With new Burgercare too, I wouldn't buy a Barack O'Burger if you paid me lol

Back to subject, hashing averages on coinwarz.com seem to be rising again, as someone pointed out its block average and not real times, so no need to panic after all (mops sweat from brow).

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Loses 70 Petahashes Of Mining? Poss stealth coin launch? on: December 04, 2014, 12:28:31 AM
Thanks for the info. I presumed that the Coinwarz data was more or less real-time data in terms of end nodes hashing on the network, but averaging based on blocks sounds more practical.

I noticed that there were fluctuations previously, this time though it was quite a big difference, is there an actual realtime tool to be able to verify the current hashing on any coin.

Glad to hear not missed out on any coins, I agree, apart from the occasional most coins in the last 3 months are just surplus to demand and poor cash in attempts on existing communities and strong brands.

It will be interesting though to see what happens to the difficulty as mining becomes less profitable for small time home miners, the difficulty could drop some more and level out making it much more appealing for longer time mining, although as said before the actual value of something isnt the price of something, so the low price of Bitcoin doesn't put me off at all.

Thanks for the responses - thought better to say something just in case something was afoot elsewhere.

Although how Cryptocoins news can suggest that people using Bitcoin SHA256 Asics can somehow be used as Scrypt miners for Solarcoin is most bizarre!
wut ?

I know! Obviously some sort of noob style error has occurred, please shutdown and restart lol

Brings financial tears to my eyes!

Cryptocoinsnews has also reported on the difficulty decrease and suggested miners have gone to other coins :-

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-mining-difficulty-decreases-first-time-almost-two-years/

Just glad / hoping that there hasnt been a stealth coin created we dont know about, but yep maybe someone has switched off a farm or users have migrated for some pump and dump scheme.

Time will tell Smiley

Not sure mining chip increases will be possible, I think the only way is for mainstream adoption and transfer of existing fiat money to Bitcoin.

It's worth remembering that the Winklevoss Twins mentioned the potential Bitcoin to be worth $40,000 each, this would mean that;

- 2 terrahash mining
- currently mining $10 a day at $380 Bitcoins
- current mining value is $1000 per day if each Bitcoin ends up being worth $40,000 each.

Some people are saying Bitcoin, if it absorbs alot of global currency may become worth in excess of $500,000.

It's certainly interesting to see what happens, but nothing explains why all of a sudden 70 Petahash of mining has suddently just dropped off the radar..

http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/coins/bitcoin

Im still concerned there is a new coin launched using the SHA256 protocol that only a handful of people know about.

Hi guys

Does anyone know anything? According to coinwarz.com, the difficulty has peaked and dropped by 300,000 for Bitcoin, and at the same time lost 70 petahashes of mining somewhere, one quarter of global hashing!

The only possibilities I can think of are;

1 ) shutdown of something like BFL's internal mining facility (if it hasnt already)
2 ) a corporate mining facility or farm has been shutdown or massive power outage somewhere
3 ) there has been a new coin launched and 70 petahashes have switched straight over in a coordinated way

Not sure what to make of it, I am concerned there is another sha256 coin launched which might be exceptionally valuable and missing out.

I know there have been occasional drops before but this seems like a huge drop, might be a glitch in the coinwarz.com website graphs but just have a suspicion theres something developed somewhere!

If anyone know's anything would be grateful if you can reply, losing 70 Petahashes from Bitcoin is one hell of alot, that's almost a quarter of total global Bitcoin hashing power!!

Let me know, thanks.

Much love.
