1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Launches June 7th, 2015 on: June 16, 2015, 03:11:21 PM
need a pool!

need a pool
need a ios app for accessing the files
need a android app for accessing the file
need a in wallet payment system (the actual solution is not usable for the normal user)
need to be listed at a exchanges, that somebody can buy sias
.....

so much is needed to make this a success.

Need a pool and listed on exchanges are certainties and will happen short term.

I don't know what you mean by in wallet system. If you mean the way to send Sia in the wallet currently could use
improvement then I think most agree and the devs have improvements in development.

As for ios and android apps, that I believe is super long term and not a priority. I believe while small casual users
are always welcome and important Sia's focus and value will come in enterprise use and large use cases not
necessarily dropbox type use. Although I would love to personally access my Sia on android and if Sia becomes huge
I'm sure that will be available.

@mishax1, you can take my bid off the list I already bought some. Thanks.

 Cry Cry Cry

Fix Sia's poorly implemented problems and I'll apologize.

I had no luck with the port forwarding also. I think this is a poorly implemented coin with things done in ridiculous ways. Wishes of success to those who stick with it. I haven't the patience or time for these kind of fix the shite as we go bs.
You have to port forward within you DSL modem etc., how are you connected to the internet?

Sorry, done with this.
Well why are you still here then?  Smiley was just trying to help. ok

EDIT: My post from earlier
Quote
Just got off the phone again with my ISP and the needed ports are definitely opened to my SIA Hosting server. Had to clear my DSL modem (pin hole trick) then they forwarded the ports to the attached device based on mac address and the dedicated IP to it. Permanently programed now. Smiley Also, If I add a second server I will need to contact them again to open the ports again for that new device. (2nd server) and so forth.

This is just what it took for me with my ISP and hardware for hosting SIA. Results may vary lol

I got the big green check mark when announcing my hosting  Smiley

500 Gb @ 1 SC/Gb/Month

C'mon, you have to admit that this coin execution is silly. Nobody goes about it this way. Do you like this? Maybe you do, but I don't. I think this is ludicrous, and I have been involved with dozens of coin launches. Why am I still here? Because I felt that this coin had a future. If things continue to be done in stupid ways, then it has no future.

That is because you are used to following toy coins that are clones with no original code. That is why they run well from the start.
I wish i could feel sorry for you but I don't. You are an ignorant fool.

What an intelligent post you made. Grow up.

I refuse to grow up in a world where someone who puts blame on an innovative coin and the people behind it because they tried to
make his testnet coins real. Doy!

Don't take it seriously. He's joking. He tried to transfer his testnet coins to main, that speaks for itself.

Yes Sia is a joke and very poorly implemented. It is a pyramid scheme. You should throw your hard drive space to the
other working storage coins. Oh wait....................

While I'm waiting to complete this I had this thought.

I wanted to mention something because I just read David's post on the main thread. Another reason why its self defeating to try and
push Siacoin's value "to da moon" is it makes people afraid to spend it. Out of all the cryptos out there Sia is the one that must be
spent and should be spent. If people are afraid to spend because they think it'll keep going up then storage will never take off
and what the heck is sia without lots and lots of people renting?

What he said is true. When I mined my first block I didn't wanna upload a file initially cause I didn't know how much it would cost me
and I was reluctant to spend my freshly minted Siacoins. I remember saying to myself "hmm other are probably thinking the same thing.
This is not good."

yet in the meantime hosting price has dropped alot, compared to the first days

its at Estimated Price Per GB: 0.04896 KS
now, which is cheap either way i guess (didnt do the math on it yet tho)

Yes but that price is meaningless now. People are just testing things and Siacoins themselves barely have any consensus on value and nobody
is even considering using storage for actual use its just testing and playing around at this stage.

But let me think about this a moment. I suppose if prices rise.....Yes I still say even if hosts adjust to rising siacoin value people will still hesitate
because they feel if they wait they can get more storage bang for their buck in the short term and never know when to start that contract.
Perhaps the devs already have plans to solve this if it is even a problem.

i start to get the feeling your trying to push prices down to buy more Wink - just a feeling tho Cheesy

I don't blame you for thinking that. I just bought some at .2 so I duno.

for anyone looking for siafunds, there is an nxt asset that holds 222 of them.

freely traded and below NAV

I'm assuming you're saying jl777 created an asset representing his siafunds? What is the asset id?

not a Sia only asset but rather a holding fund that holds 222 amongst a lot of other valuable stuff

Ohhh, okay I know what you're talking about obviously, duh me.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Siacoin Trading Thread on: June 14, 2015, 07:17:14 AM
Back on topic. I'm looking to buy Siacoin for .12 per 1M. I guess up to 3.5 depending, will probably only want 2 btc worth though.

Personally I think even .1 is too high. No matter how great we see the potential in Sia there could be an irreversible bug found tomorrow
that causes red headed children to explode. Otherwise nobody would even sell for less than 10 btc per 1M. But in order to
buy, buyers have to be willing to meet up to sellers and vice versa.

I will send first to members I feel fine about or you can send first. I've done escrow with anon136 a couple times so I have no
problem using him. Thats if he's even heard of Sia.

your offer is probably too low - see thisone:

Looking to buy 60million sia for 0.15BTC/million.  Total of 9 BTC PM if interested or with counteroffer.

Yea missed that. Still who knows if that is legit offer. i do probably have to up it though. Okay I'll go to .14 btc per 1M.
For anyone interested with me if you have any kind of reputation I'll send first. That might be worth it for some.

.15/mil is certainly a legit offer--I sold him 10 mil at that price.

Do you have more to sell? I guess I'll match the .2 btc for 1M Siacoin. I'll buy 3 btc worth. For you I'll send first.

I'm sorry, but I'm all out at that price, aside from a pending trade.

I'll probably hold the remainder of my coins for a while longer, but someone in IRC might be willing to sell at .2, for anyone who mined early that is a nice price.

It is I can't believe I offered it.

Thanks for answering anyway.

If you guys haven't already, please fill in the Coin request @ Poloniex - https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

Doing it now. I'm assuming the ticker symbol I should put is SIA?

buying at 0.2BTC /1M

through the roof!

You had to do it didn't you. Well looks like d3 will get a deal sooner than later.

Wink

its what i said earlier - way more demand than supply on this thread

and once my cheap offers are sold out, price will rise even more

Believe me you don't have to teach me about trading threads' price fluctuations on new coins. Brooklynbtc and I are/were Nxt guys.
Even at .2 btc Siacoin is low on the MC totem pole. Our previous discussion was about long term pricing. Sia is not a store of value
and dreams of it hitting dollar parity even in 10 years doesn't make sense. But that doesn't mean it doesn't have room to grow short term.
