1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to have many altcoins or it is enough to have few? on: June 16, 2018, 09:20:41 AM
I know that there are many kinds of alternative coins existing today, but is it better to have that many coins instead of having just a few? What are the benefits and harm in having that many alternative coins?

i think it is better to have more. the more you have, the more chances of winning. you'll never know how much value those altcoins will be in a few months.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockchain is a never ending process? on: June 16, 2018, 09:12:08 AM
blockchain is a decentralized and secured technology for transaction or transfer currency all over the world. But is it possible to stop one day or its forever?

yes, it is. as long as bitcoins or any other crypto continue to circulate transaction, blockchain wont stop. and the crypto users continue to grow day by day so i dont see that it will stop anytime soon.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to store Bitcoin safely ? on: June 10, 2018, 01:24:43 PM
Hi guys
I know this might sound like a newbie question, but Ive not had enough bitcoin to think about putting any in cold storage since Cryptsy ripped me off when they went down Sad
But just lately ive built myself back up a bit, and just need to check my understanding of a creating a cold wallet is correct ? This is what I think was the best way but im not sure Huh

1. Download latest BTC client
2. move to a pc not connected to the internet.
3. Create an address on that PC without internet.
4. Send fund to address created on PC with no internet access.
5. Save keys in safe place Smiley

Also I was wondering if there are any 100% safe third party wallets that enable quick access if needed ?

Sorry if my question has been covered many times, but I just don't want to make a big mistake.

Thanks
Rick

hardware wallet would be a good idea. it is more secure than online or desktop wallet. hardware wallets like usb sticks which u can carry around in person. also, there is no personal information linked in it so no need to worry about identifying data getting leaked. and in case u lose your wallet, you will be able to to recover the funds using seed phrase.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does bitcoin need to improve? on: June 09, 2018, 01:56:44 PM
I can clearly see that there are other cryptocurrencies that are beginning to dethrone bitcoin, showing off there quick and secured transactions, though bitcoin continues to be the king. What does bitcoin need to improve state your opinions.

bitcoin obviously needs to have a more secure storage, minimize the trust exchanges and make 2nd layer more user friendly.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is Bitcoin largely used on deep web? on: June 09, 2018, 01:33:17 PM
is bitcoin largely used on the deep web because of the anonymity it offers and is it the only payment method available if your shopping on deep web or there are some other payment method aside from bitcoin and how big bitcoin is on deep web?

yes, it is. as we all know, deep web contains a lot of information, informations that not everyone are allowed to know. there are also illegal transactions in deep web. using deep web means danger so you have to stay anonymous to protect your profile. so yes, bitcoin is used in deep web to access these things wihtout jeopardizing your profile.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more risky? Bitcoin or bank investment? on: June 07, 2018, 10:23:33 AM
Bitcoin is indeed risky. But bank investments are risky too. In our country (coz I'm not sure if this exist in other countries). When you have a large amount on your account they will call you and ask you if you want to invest, minimum of 20,000 Php (or 400 USD). They will propose some investment plans where there is a choice of low, medium, or high risk investment. When you choose the high risk there is a chance to lose or gain 100% of your investment (Medium is 75% and low is 50% if I remember it right). It doesn't make sense to me, it sounds like a scam, they will invest using your money and you don't have any control to it. That is why I like bitcoin more, coz Though it is risky and it's very volatile, you have full control on your investment.

What do you guys think?

bitcoin is more risky than bank investment (but it is a risk that i am willing to take). see, bitcoin is disentralized, which makes the government illegalize it anytime since it is somewhat a competition to them. also, you cant buy everything with bitcoin, not like with the flat currency which means u have to still own other currency. another reason is its lack of security.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what can you buy with bitcoin? on: June 04, 2018, 04:13:47 PM
In the UK, theirs a store called CEX where you can buy second hand dvds, computer games, consoles etc. CEX is in all the main towns and cities and is very popular, been around nearly 20 years now. Any way i noticed on their website that you can pay with bitcoin, on their website.
"Payments - To buy any product from Webuy.com you must make payment using a valid UK credit or debit card, PayPal account, Bitcoin or CeX voucher."
I've heard rumors you can buy gold, property and even sports cars directly with bitcoins. Obviously there are loads of scammers these days, does anyone know of any such legitimate companies and what products you can currently buy?

hey crypto brother,
u can actually spend your bitcoin on a lot of things. you can pay for flights and hotels, microsoft also accepts crypto to buy apps, movies, music and even games; there are also musicians who accept cryptocurrency, u can buy golds using it, and if you’re starving and craving for pizza, u can also use your bitcoin. if u wanna study, there are universities who accept bitcoin. some legal and accounting firms aren’t also impossible to own using your btc. and if you’re feeling saint-like, u are always welcome to give donation using your bitcoin. 9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to Crypto, Any Advice? on: June 03, 2018, 02:18:10 PM
Hello, Im new to the Crypto world and wanted to hear some advice from the pro's on where to start. i havnt purchased any coins yet, but i have been using coinpot and various faucets. I was wondering if i should keep going with this or is it a waste of my time. Also they say theres no fee for converting coins, but i dont get the same conversion rate as i do on the coinmarketcap calculator. Basically id like to hear from the professionals maybe a strategy for really small trades, or that this is a waste of time and buy some coins with my hard earned money and go from there lol. and if thats the case, where to go. im in Canada by the way, if that helps.

Thanks for any help you can offer me. I hope to get more active in the forums and meet great/smart people along the way Smiley

hi, my suggestion is u should learn the basics first about crypto to avoid scams or anything. if you're trying to earn some money, try to download telegram on your phone, it is a very easy way to earn crypto. Smiley and if you are trying to buy some, look at the market cap, not the price. i'd say that investing is also a good idea.

What blogs or channels do you prefer most when you need to get knowledge about crypto, wallets and crypto market? Just found hacker noon on medium and CCN website:) Can you share more?

hello IsaakPooo,

as a newbie here, i still have a lot to learn about crypto but, i can already tell that i know some basic things about it. what i do is just i search a lot about crypto. read and watch blogs on the internet. i learned a lot in this site called lifehacker, they explain everything in a way that you can understand it easily; without complications or anything. also, if i have a spare time, i would go surf the internet and search about crypto. i think you will learn about it if you are dedicated and hard working enough.  Smiley
