101  Economy / Trading Discussion / We know Gox is dead. How many user's BTC does Gox hold? on: February 24, 2014, 04:26:33 AM
Everyone should know that Gox is pretty much dead. One simple indicator is "why its taking them so long to fix this protocol issue as oppose to the other exchanges." The history of Gox is another big indicator.

At this point. If Gox does come back. How much does it owe to users in BTC and fiat currency values?
102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My bitcoin price prediction from 2/17/2014 to 2/28/2014 on: February 23, 2014, 06:13:18 PM
My gut is that we will settle at around $700 by month end

It should definitely settle around the 700$ mark this month. The reason why it's not near the 800$-900$ range is due to GOX. GOX needs to take a dirt nap or fix it's issue. If the GOX news continues to loom everywhere we'll still be around 600$-700$ range even down to high 500$ range. The value of the Coin should be around 700-800$?range without a doubt. The reason why I choose that range is infrastructure to obtain BTCs has vastly improve. As much as we depend on the BTC community. We need the newcomers to be involved. Every time a newcomer trades or mines or invest or buys. He is contributing to increase value of bitcoin ecosystem. Growth and maturity of BTC will only progress forward as long as we get an infuse of new players in the ecosystem. Bad news like what karapeles has done for his own benefit. Has caused newcomers to second guess the ecosystem. Let's put it this way. If banks in the USA weren't back by federal reserve or FDIC. A lot of people would lose trust in the US dollar and we would of still been bartering at this point. Trust is in the eye of the beholder.

105  Economy / Economics / Re: Mtgox can only run insolvent! on: February 23, 2014, 12:11:13 PM
MT.Gox is basically when someone gets hit by a car and ends up in comatose. It being held up in life support by other bitcoin exchanges and the community itself.

Pokemon Mark Karapeles is toasted. There is no way he can recover MT.Gox from all those seizures by the Feds. Unless everyone in there mother helps him out. Which no one will do because he single handedly destroy bitcoin image and rep within a week. By blaming it on a protocol issue that everyone in there mother knew 1 year ago. I wouldn't be surprised that he gave hackers "a way" to steal BTCs from others. He threw us all under the bus beside the MT. Gox users.

I hope whatever this Pokemon goes, the BTC community drives him out. Probably the only place he is welcomed is in Antarctica.

Do you have any idea how much money they were making the last half of 2013?
Gox was on a pace to easily make back everything stolen by the USA Feds. The only real question is how much they lost this year, and they claim to have had most in cold storage.
Long Live the Great Gox!   Cheesy

If Gox made that much last year. Why were BTC withdraws limitation or no withdraws at all from the beginning of last year to now. IF Karapeles actually reinvested it back into HIRING the best Attorneys in getting those MSB licenses. He would of made more BTCs in the long run.
All the other exchanges were back online within in a day. What makes Gox special it needs to take a whole month. The issue is probably no BTCs left in there accounts.
Instead in the youtube video. Karapeles seem like he just returned from vacation and enjoying his frap.
106  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My bitcoin price prediction from 2/17/2014 to 2/28/2014 on: February 23, 2014, 12:02:36 PM
We know those two countries. It State owned Banks. China and Russia.
107  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGOX is at $124 BTC. Is this an incredible opportunity, or should we stay away? on: February 23, 2014, 12:00:06 PM
I also forgot to add. Gox would of probably made so much in the long run. If it reinvested it BTC earnings and hired real programmers, attorneys to get MSB license and actually reinvested in there infrastructure.

What ticks me off the most about Karpeles is he had the balls to go Forbes and spew a bunch nonsense. ALSO HAD TIME TO DO THAT WHILE HE COULD OF BEEN WORKING GOX TO FIX THE ISSUE. Scare the public about BTCs for his poor infrastructure of an exchange. Then started this whole fiasco.

I seriously also believe if Karapeles had the time to do interview with Forbes instead of actually fixing his exchange. The alarms should be going off. if he was so concern with BITCOIN and his exchange. He would putting in countless hours and updates to users in fixing the exchange. Not strolling into work with a frap in that youtube video. He should be looking like a zombie at that point.

I would not touch Gox with 10,000 foot pole. Unless you have BTCs to burn.
108  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGOX is at $124 BTC. Is this an incredible opportunity, or should we stay away? on: February 23, 2014, 11:50:20 AM
Gox is done for. Unless Gox has 30k of BTC in cold storage somewhere. It's done for. Just look at the news what Gox has been through. From lawsuits to government seizures.

If CEO of Gox actually reinvested in Gox. He would not be in this position. He would of probably made more BTC over the long run. The fact that 5 million worth of BTC or more got confiscated last year is big concern. I would never trust a pokemon like karpeles with my BTCs ever.

A good lesson is never keep BTCs at exchanges unless your trading them out that day and particular time.

There are two ways you can look at Gox.

Gox is trying recoup the loss BTC/funds from others selling there BTCs at ridiculously low prices

or

Gox is getting as many people to invest until it pulls a sheep marketplace strategy. Where it shuts down completely and runs away with the money.

If Gox ever did option two, I hope that every person from every continent find him and sues him. So his only option would be Antarctica.
109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt. GOX - Change Location from its old HQ. to a HOTEL! on: February 23, 2014, 11:37:00 AM
For me its a red alert sign that he changed location. If its just software issue why isn't this fixed. Instead he changes location? I believe there is very little left at the Gox. Unless he has 30k worth of BTC in Cold storage. The fact that the company is based in Japan gets me even more worried. Not having any licenses, fire alarms are going off in my head.

The fact is Karapeles could of USED THE FUNDs he made off all the transaction fees and pay to get MSB licenses in the states. Reinvestment is what made Amazon the powerhouse of internet sales today. With 1.7-2 million dollars. I believe you can find an attorney that will get you MSB licenses in all 50 states without questions.

How much money do you think Gox made so far over its life span? Just want to get everyone input.
110  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is the price of Bitcoin so low now. Is it MT.Gox? on: February 23, 2014, 11:26:16 AM
It's not "low". It was $100 last October, before the China-based runup. For a few months, buying Bitcoins with yuan from within China and selling them for dollars or euros outside China was a good way to get around China's exchange controls. That drove a runup from $100 to $1100 in only two months.

The People's Bank of China put a stop to that in January 2014. And you're bitching that the price only dropped to $600.

Mt. Gox is mostly irrelevant to this. During the latest Mt. Gox debacle, the price has stayed in the $600-$700 range. (What's going on at Mt. Gox is not a price, because you can't actually get anything out of Mt. Gox)

I agree Nagle that the chinese pump BTC to 1100 range. Although without China I believe it should be around 800$ range the reason why is that more more merchants are using BTC. A lot startups have made trading BTC a lot easier and new innovative ideas pump more money to BTC economy.

Although I disagree with MT.Gox being irrelevant. For example if NYSE pulled the same thing what MT.Gox did. We'll be facing an economical depression. Exchange Hold, measure, and keep track of trade in real time. I believe that the exchanges are examples of core foundations what makes anything work. If no one could trade out there BTCs ever. The value of BTC would plump it to 0$. We rely and put our trust in exchanges that it will make the trade. Receive what we want from the trade.

111  Bitcoin / Pools / Eligius Pool Payout Queue from Feb 15 2014-Now on: February 21, 2014, 06:29:48 PM
Hi everyone,

I notice the payout for eligius' pool has been in delay. My estimated payout queue states the following:

1 day, 11 hours and 8 minutes

Any issues with the pool? Just wondering. Thanks
112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt. GOX - Change Location from its old HQ. to a HOTEL! on: February 21, 2014, 06:19:02 AM
Probably no landlord in Japan want MT.Gox in there building as rentee. I believe the japanese are very superstitious.

I agree MT Gox probably made a hand over fist in transaction fees last year. Although the Feds confiscating 5million dollars. Them moving into a hotel. Another company suing them for 75 million dollars. There is no way they have enough to survive.

The question is how much are owed to Gox users and how many will withdraw at that point. If they have 20k worth of cold storage BTC. MT. Gox will be alright.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin QT wallet upgrade on: February 21, 2014, 05:58:52 AM
I just never understood Window OS. You pay them like what 180$ for there software. Windows last for what 3-5 days at most without crashing. While Linux and Unix last for 30 days without a restart.

What if i told you that my windows runs until i restart it manually to update and my linux machine uptime is more than 2 years?

I believe you in heart beat. The fact is Linux is a much better OS system

116  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is the price of Bitcoin so low now. Is it MT.Gox? on: February 21, 2014, 05:38:34 AM
I was expecting the price to be around 800$ range. The reason why is a lot of basic infrastructure is getting put in place. Businesses like Tiger Direct and Overstock are accepting it. A lot mom and pop shops in the West Coast are accepting BTC. Lets not forget the Medical Marijuana industry. While in the East coast the snow ball effect is beginning. Automatic Teller for BTC. Something I am very proud of! Supernintendo Lawsky actually wanting to regular Bitcoin. Let face it New York won't want to tax it, if it not worth its while.

Talked to my attorney who was actually interested in BTC.

The infrastructure is vastly improving. Compare to 2009 which were little dirt roads. While now its paved roads. I am hoping by the end of year, highways. Next year hoover car highways.

Future news:

eBay and Paypal working on digital wallet.
Amazon looking into Bitcoin.

We know with fiat currency.
It's the ability for an ordinary citizen to acquire with convenience and trust that piece of paper will be worth something. While businesses and big businesses believing it has value. Let face it, it took the US government to not agree on budget two times with a sprinkles of government shut down and borrowing to devalue the worth of the USD and faith that the United States government to pay back it debts.

I believe whole hardly that Bitcoin will be the wave of the future. My belief system is listed below:

1. God
2. Bitcoin
3. Hardwork
Last place in 100th- US dollar

"Bitcoin" In God We Trust

117  Economy / Economics / Why is the price of Bitcoin so low now. Is it MT.Gox? on: February 21, 2014, 05:21:52 AM
Hi everyone,

I just can't believe that BTC's are valued in 550-600 range. What happen? A lot of good news is coming out.

My assumption is MT. Gox single handedly destroy the value and image of bitcoin is it true?

Just want to get everyone's input.
118  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Mt.Gox Class Action Suit on: February 20, 2014, 01:45:53 PM
Finally someone is standing up to that Pokemon Mark Karpeles. Hope the attorneys there in Japan get every single penny back from that crook.
119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: any advice -- I have 50% coins and 50% USD in MTGOX now ???? on: February 20, 2014, 12:12:12 PM
I would buy as many coins as you can and transfer them out as soon as institute there withdraws back. Either your QT wallet or another exchange.

They will probably fix the issue. The fact is Pokemon Karpeles needs the trading back on his exchange again. Let be realistic, what else is he going to be doing in Japan? Unless his Japanese as fluent as the Japanese.

I know Mark Karpeles will not be welcome in any part of the world for what he did. Hopefully MT.Gox can reborn from the Ashes.
120  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [850 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: February 19, 2014, 06:50:20 AM
I believe the issues is that Slush won't receive 2.0 until the trezor comes out. I heard that a lot of his energy is diverted to trezor. So hopefully the trezor comes out soon. So Slush 2.0 will be online.
