381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POS-Only Crypto Exchange? on: August 04, 2020, 02:08:26 AM
There's no such certain exchange which only work with PoS only coins. I am wondering what you are looking for here exactly. If you are looking for exchanges which share rewards with its investor in the form of staking, there are Binance, kucoin etc.
By the way, PoS is not that good for a decentralized coin, it's only saving energy.

Hey, Little Mouse. I'll sidestep the security argument for this thread, or we'll just get bogged down.

But 'It's only saving energy'? It's my estimation that climate-change-mitigation politics will be globally central by end of this decade. A POS-only crypto exchange would recognise this: POS or POW-POS cryptos only, and perhaps projects relating to running whole crypto ecosystems on (proveably) renewable energy.

Well done on this post, Than. Really looking forward to seeing if we can swing a listing on Altilly. (6 days to go with the voting)

Meanwhile, in the (increasingly un-)real world:

'Police used bullhorns to chide participants . . . to wear masks، apparently with little success.'

https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2020/08/02/2319634/18-officers-injured-after-anti-mask-protesters-clash-with-police-in-berlin-video

So, people marching in protest against wearing masks were yelled at by the police to wear masks, but they refused? Let's play a little with this principle:

'People Afraid of Peanut Butter marched in protest in Berlin today. Police yelled at them through bullhorns that peanut butter is yummy, and they should try it. The marchers refused.'

'People who dress up like clowns on the weekend marched in protest in Berlin today. Police shouted at them that they shouldn't dress up like clowns on the weekend, but the marchers said that they would continue to do so because it's why they were protesting in the first place.'

If you are looking for information about exchanges that provide only POS and/or POS-POW coins, then that exchange is usually not very well known.
Here are some exchanges that i often use to make transactions, especially for POS coins :
1. Crex24
2. Graviex
3. Birake.

And the latest (I haven't tried it yet): Bitfineon (https://twitter.com/bitfineon)
Or you can use coingecko. Search your favorite POS-POW coins, and search in what exchange those your favorite coins listed.

You are Officially Awesome

EDIT: Crex24 looks interesting

I'm sure energy-efficiency will become a crucial crypto issue. Got a couple of POS cryptos in mind.

Does anyone know of an exchange that handles only POS (or POW-POS) cryptos?

And if you have thoughts on this notion, please, let's hear them.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what's your favourite coin and token ? on: August 02, 2020, 07:11:37 AM
42-coin. Laugh if you will. More an 'instrument' than a cryptocurrency -- not very fast.

But:

energy efficient
rare
actually deflationary
well-established
And of course, being an alt, you can use it to make txes at ludicrously low prices.

If you check the charts since Bitcoin dominance jumped up in April last year, you'll see that 42 has performed extremely well since.

'More important than the size of the next relief package is how long the emergency measures last, given the vast number of Americans now unemployed . . . '
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-07-25/summers-warns-u-s-economy-in-grave-danger-if-stimulus-lapses

Here is 42-coin's future: the stimulus -- 'emergency measures' -- must go on and on — as they did after the 2008 GFC!! Inflation can only go up, which makes 42 look more and more attractive.

[Check gold's price today.]

Can I change my entry for the slogan comp? I'd like:

42-coin: code is forever

'the US financial system was already in crisis last year'

This is John Rubino. I always read his articles. He's writing about what others are not: that a range of crazy stuff is now going on all together.

So, how do I vote at the top of the page here? I've actually never voted in such a poll!

Voting will be later, we are only looking for candidates now.

'Coins for the Future' and 'Future for Everyone.'

Did someone mention a Noo Slogan Competition? I like 'Made of Code. Code is forever,' which is a little different from the original here. (And what prize would we have? I am struggling to get even a satoshi of 42 at a reasonable price. Got none to spare!)

'The new package takes Japan’s total spending to combat the virus fallout to 234 trillion yen ($2.18 trillion) . . . '

https://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2020/05/27/world/asia/27reuters-health-coronavirus-japan-stimulus.html

$US 2.2 Trillion — is that a lot?

Report for the STH Community

This is hopeful. Says a lot about the difference between What’s Being Officially Said and what folks clearly think:
https://www.zerohedge.com/health/shocking-crowds-flock-ocean-city-maryland-ignoring-social-distancing

Meanwhile, in Japan:
‘The Bank of Japan ratcheted up its stimulus Monday in tandem with government measures aimed at preventing the world’s third-largest economy from a virus-triggered collapse.
The central bank promised to buy as many government bonds as needed . . . ’
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-27/boj-ramps-up-stimulus-with-pledge-for-unlimited-bond-buying
And Japan is special why? ‘Cause it started QE years earlier than other nations.

Meanwhile meanwhile, in Singapore:
‘Singapore’s government announced another 33 billion Singapore dollars ($23.2 billion) to support its economy which has been severely hit by the coronavirus pandemic.’
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/26/singapore-plans-fourth-stimulus-package-for-coronavirus-hit-economy.html
Wow! That’s practically a package a month!

John Rubino is great:
‘There is not a major sector out there that can be allowed to go bust. Not the airlines, not commercial real estate, certainly not the banks, you name it and it has to be bailed out. That’s where the really crazy stuff starts. When people figure out we are basically bailing out everybody from home owners to student loan holders, to car loan holders and right down the line, and then we get state and local governments with this gigantic multi-trillion dollar problem . . . and the amount of debt is off the charts to bail all of these guys out, that is when the real fun starts.” ’
