63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do traders pay income taxes? on: September 11, 2018, 07:22:06 AM
I'd like to start trading, but what happens when you get profit from a new coin? you pay taxes as individual (like capital gain) or you must open a registered company?

The question is will TaaS get their eth back?

https://medium.com/@Taas/taas-invests-500-eth-in-coindash-a-crypto-based-social-trading-platform-14a6055c5fd8

Because if so the people on the white list better get their eth back too

They should be refunded instantly, since the coindash team has the whitelist address ETH total I think anyway.

They should not refund whitelisted adresses as that would be extremely unfair to all other participants. Only 'fair' way to refund some of the ether would be to re-distribute it proportionally to everyone (so including those that send to the fake address from their mainpage).

Other option is issuing worthless tokens to everyone. I guess we're screwed out of at least part of our money either way.

How is it unfair? They have the ETH from those who used the whitelist address! That means they should refund those people/companies. Re-distributing someone elses eth to everyone isn't fair. It belongs to the rightful owners.
They are issuing them worthless tokens to everyone who sent via fake address.

Luckily I didn't send any ETH cause devs were shady asf today. ICO's lately are just pure scams, waste of time.

It is not fair because it is their fault that people send it to the wrong address. There should be no priority treatment on those whitelisted addresses other than guaranteed participation. Definitely not preference on refunds. They have access to all addresses that participated through the logs of the fake address. If they start refunding they should include everyone.

CoinDashers, soon we will get the site back and release our official announcement about what just happened

Everyone who participate, both with the right & fraud address will get his CDT

Pleases be patient as we are trying to make things clear

Pleases? Really? What a bunch of amateurs you are. And you expect people to actually deposit funds to a trading platform when you can't even protect a simple front-page from hacks?

I'm still skeptical but if this is true, no need to really be a dick here. If it's not a scam they're probably working overtime to try to assuage fears and a typo on bitcoin talk is an absurd thing to get pissed about. Again though, this only stands so long as they keep their word.

While the hack will definitely cast a shadow over the ico and lower the initial price short term, I also think that if they handle this appropriately in the next few hours and reallly deliver, the long term value will remain. I won't lie and say I wasn't planning on potentially selling ico coins when they hit the exchange, but I also liked this project enough such that I plan to buy back in once the initial exchange dump happens to hold long term if they can fix this mess.

Would it decrease the value? Think about it; a hacked company which refunds money out of their own pockets. The down side is that they got hacked initially and that harms their trustability.

They are not refunding money though. There refunding tokens that are not worth jack shit if people can't trust the security of their platforms. If they were to refund the 7 million in ether then sure, maybe people could start moving past it. For now they're refunding us with worthless tokens.

72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / NEM/XEM gaining ground in Japan on: July 12, 2017, 04:54:25 PM
Japan, a front-runner in blockchain adoption, has recently announce to start testing applications of blockchain technology in several governmental functions. The Japanese government has expressed interest to use the blockchain for, among other things, land-registration and tender offers. Links can be found here: https://btcmanager.com/japans-government-to-test-blockchain-system-q1-2018/ and here: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/japan-place-entire-property-registry-blockchain/.

In addition to these developments Infoteria, a Japanese company, has announced that is has succesfully used NEM/Mijin for a trial where shareholder voting was done on the blockchain. A link to the original announcement can be found here https://www.infoteria.com/jp/news/press/2017/06/01_01.php (You'll need google translate here). Combined with the news that one of the largest Japanese exchanges Coincheck has acquired 300 million XEM (around 50 million USD at the time) as a reserve currency. Source https://www.reddit.com/r/nem/comments/6kr7o2/japan_exchange_coincheck_purchased_300_million_xem/.

These facts combined could signal very strong support from both Japanese government and Japanese corporations for the NEM/XEM blockchain. This could very well be the start of a string of NEM related announcements coming from Japan.

Eth for sure.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX [ICO] end of June: making Blockchain assets spendable on: July 04, 2017, 07:05:03 AM
PAY Token will be distributed in august Is that right?  Smiley
not sure about the PAY distribution date, can someone confirm?
They said about 3-5 weeks <for a PAY distribution> in the last youtube update a few days back.
BTW, any latest news about the exchanges that will list PAY coins?

Sometimes you gotta retreat out of a dead end so you can go farther forward.
So you are going to sell MCO and buy PAY then?

Distributing the 84M PAY tokens that were purchased during the only-minutes-long TenX ICO and finding an exchange for them is a big job that apparently will take Julian and the TenX team weeks to accomplish.  When those milestones are finished I'll have the option to exchange my MCO tokens for PAY.

Meanwhile VISA cryptocard Monaco's (http://mona.co) 9.67M purchased MCO tokens have all been distributed (I've got mine) to their purchasers,  who had a leisurely four weeks to buy them.  With the beginning of MCO trading, those tokens have jumped today from #100 to #96 so far at coinmarketcap.com in $1.5M in trading.   They started at $2.33 per MCO on CMC.

The first 24 hours on Bittrex has gone very well, currently at $2.56 per MCO and already working on popping the psychological 100K satoshi barrier.   Who knows how high they'll go after that?  Already in the first 24 hours they've gained 10% by going from $2.33 to $2.56....

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-MCO

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=ETH-MCO

Here's the expected ROI multiples on initial investments made today on the "ground floor" vs. various target MCO market caps.  The better MCO does now, the more PAY I would be able to buy in a month!

I'll make a similar plot for PAY next month in August 30 days from now (when PAY trading finally starts) and post it here for comparison...

You realize that literally the only reason that MCO was rising is because BTC is rising? Again, no one is interested in your investments in another project.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX [ICO] end of June: making Blockchain assets spendable on: July 02, 2017, 02:18:52 PM
What is the total supply of your tokens?

Do not be too lazy to read the whitepaper, in this ICO, about 20,000,000 PAY was sold, which is 51% of all the PAY supply.

WRONG.  The TenX ICO raised 200,000 ETH, each of which bought 420 PAY tokens (=350 plus 20% first day bonus) that represented 51% of the total supply.  Thus there will be 200,000*420 = 84M PAY tokens at the exchanges when TenX trading starts (compared to only 9.45M Monaco MCO tokens trading NOW on Bittrex...).

When both coins exit their lockout periods, there will be 164.7M TenX PAY tokens total to 31.5M Monaco MCO tokens total.

Ownership in TenX is diluted by a factor of 164.7 / 31.5 = 5.22 compared to Monaco.  If the two cards are "equal" in the marketplace, then a single MCO token "should" be worth more than five times the price of a single PAY token.

But the two cards ARE NOT equal in the marketplace.  According to their terms of service, Monaco will issue their crypto VISA cards to 300M+ Americans;  TenX will not.

Check out Monaco MCO tokens.  They're the better bet for traders seeking a winning cryptocurrency VISA card play at the exchanges.

http://mona.co

TenX has a WORKING CARD NOW and will ship the card to users in the US in Q4.

WRONG.

https://www.tenx.tech/fees.html

Monaco has a TRADING TOKEN NOW, go check it out:

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-MCO

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=ETH-MCO

You realize that no one in this thread is interested in your Monaco ads?

We have been working with several user groups to make sure all currencies are working and in case a bug pops up, it does not affect every one. We will start rolling out ALL currencies to ALL users over the next days and you can see it in “My Account -> Settings”. If you urgently need a specific currency, please drop a message to support@tenx.tech - bare in mind, that if you haven’t ordered a card (or did not get to as we are doing it in batches), you have to wait till we are shipping more card. We will be adding more and more ERC20 tokens over the next weeks - especially all the partnerships that we have already agreed to. Thanx everyone for being patient and so supportive! You are a truly awesome community.

Hi playgrounder, how do I go about claiming the 25+ ether card? I've e-mailed a couple of days ago, is there an update on those?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CVC] CIVIC Tokensale :: 21 June on: June 29, 2017, 09:55:23 AM
For newer users I'll quote myself here. I'm not saying Kashish's offer isn't totally legit, just make sure that you are aware that it is likely that the price will drop once real exchanges add CVC. At the moment the price on that website is solely based on HitBTC's inflated prices.
His offer is legitimate, he can ask whatever he wants, now somebody else can came here and set half of that price. I believe we need speculation thread now!
It's up to you will you accept this as relevant price, but i know i wouldn't do this. All trades without exchange can be dangerous, price is not formed yet.

I never said his offer wasn't legitimate. Merely said that it is based on a price which is likely to be extremely inflated. People that may not know a lot about HitBTC's pricing history when it comes to IOUs may mistakenly think that their price represents the go-to market price.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CVC] CIVIC Tokensale :: 21 June on: June 29, 2017, 09:21:10 AM
The HitBTC price is not what the actual price will be when CVC goes to market. They sell IOUs and inflate the price by controlling supply. This literally happens with every ICO that is released nowadays and usually when the coin/token enters a normal market the price plummets.

If you are looking to get in to Civic because you missed the ICO or if you simply want more I would highly suggest that you wait until a proper exchange lists them to avoid buying at a major premium.
Hi everyone,

I got in on the ICO and if anyone wants to buy CVC tokens I am willing to sell it. This is how it will work:

1. We can contact any reputed escrow here and you send the BTC to him as per the rate decided by us.
2. We wait for Civic to release the tokens in about two weeks
3. I forward these tokens to your address and you release escrow.

Tokens Available: 250,000 CVC
Rate: https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/cvc/overview

Safe and Simple. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks!
You have so positive trust that I'm afraid to ask for somebody's experience who have already bought civic tokens through your help. But what's the price? Still 10 Cents?

Hey, price will be whatever it is at https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/cvc/overview at the time of our deal.
You can also buy a smaller quantity from me.
