I'll make sure it's compatible with S3 housings too. The thing will be USB-connected, so it might take a header adapter or something to still plug into the boards inside the case but I'll make sure it's possible. S1 and S5, being fairly open, should have no trouble.
S3 to S5 is the same other than the location of the pcie plugs. On the s5 boards the pcie plugs are slightly further apart and a bit lower. It would be nice to use a s3 cover without any mods but Im sure most would be fine without the cover. Honestly one could just run the plugs in there before they close it up or a jumper cable mounted to the cover. Not a big deal IMO.

Do you have a running list for the 2pacs yet? I want to order a few while I have the cash in hand and will get the BF stuff once taxes come in. I want at least 2 minimum so I can run one modded/oc'd against the modded OG stick and one to leave untouched.

Because of buck overheads and other things, the low-end hashing efficiency of the 2-chip BM1384 would only be at best a marginal improvement over the existing Compac. However, overclocking is where it'll really shine. The old stick's 5W performance was around 12GH, where 15GH is hopefully a conservative estimate for this one; 7W should see over 20GH instead of 16GH and the top-end 10W would get you about 27GH instead of the old stick's maybe hitting 20GH if it didn't burst into flames. Cooling should also be better because of the reduced heat density of two chips.
Looking foreword to this to push it to the max, hope it don't let out the magic smoke. I will at least get 2, one for normal mining and one for "testing". The one chip compac didn't seem to get too hot anywhere as far as I pushed it. Only had the IR temp gun but I think it did very well considering I topped it out at around 25+Gh.

Tentative pricing for a Bitfury 16nm pod is around $125. My reseller friends are worried that >$100 is too much for a pod miner. With an estimated stock setting of about 650GH at 75W DC, would folks still buy it? That's priced high even by Avalon721 standards, but it also has better efficiency - and with integrated undervolting, it can get better still.
I'm still mining with 2 s5s, the wattage difference alone would pay for themselves quickly. 150 watts for the same speed as an s5 yet quieter, yes please. If I have the funds I will surely take a few.

My s5s wont connect, I have tried re entering the info and power cycling. They report the pool as dead.....
same here.. dead. Pool was fine, gateway was unhappy about restart but it's fixed now. Im up and running again. Thanks -ck.

It'll be built off the well-tested BM1384 Compac power design, with some improvements to improve stability at extreme overclocking, and with an entirely new controls set that should allow for temperature monitoring and software voltage adjustment.
Oh boy, cant wait to see what I can do with this. Had a bunch of fun pushing the 1384 compac with that huge modded heatsink with a fan. If you can build it....I can push it to the edge! GL

Have been solo mining for over a year with 2 s5's. Literally had a share on the first block of a diff change that would of hit a block less than 10 minutes earlier.

Go to ebay and look up usb to uart. Just connect similar pins with the included jumper wires.
edit: If you look I'm sure some one here has a thread on it.

Here is a pic before I restart them to put them on a power meter.

Yea, they are clocked at 275 iirc. I can check when I get home from work. They both have 2 fans so I can run them quieter, one of them I swapped s3+ heatsinks and it made a world of difference in temps. I can get a wattage reading as well when I get home.

I have 3 control boards, 1 works for sure and i can test the other 2. I need at least 1 for myself, pm me a offer.

ref R9 290X 4GB the heat sink mounting holes (4 around gpu die) are stripped so the back chrome mount only mounts with 1 screw. Bought it in untested condition for my gaming rig and haven't fully tested it due to that reason. I know it has no display and the fan spins aside from that it could be bios, mosfets or something stupid.
