Well, 800 of those NMC's are mine. They've been sitting in the deposit address you generated for me almost three weeks ago. Still haven't received a reply to the e-mail I sent Andreas regarding this situation, certainly would rather not air much beyond what I just did publicly..

I'm assuming you have brew and cmake..and ideally python-pip installed?
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking to start selling BTC on Local Bitcoins on: October 31, 2015, 05:13:41 PM
Believe it or not, about a year or so ago, that amount of effort could be put into things and often times, for the payment methods I was accepting at the time, I could expect 'finex/bitstamp + 30 to sometimes 60% rate and the only issue was a matter of supply to cater to the volume of demand..

As was mentioned above though, with a new seller account, if you also want to make relatively sure that you're not losing coins to scammers, realistically you should expect 5-7% with a lot of competition. Things sure aren't like they used to be back when the amount of $500 Moneypaks you were able to ACCEPT a day (contingent upon your ability to have as many pre-paids as possible that accepted Greendot MP, and more importantly, your withdrawal techniques - getting thousands of dollars off pre-paids without being noticed) decided what you were able to make...and people expected to pay a 25% and up rate if they wanted to use Moneypaks and the rate just went up as the payment method got shadier and shadier until MP pulled the plug on Moneypaks and switched exclusively to register reloads.

Being that localbitcoins.com is a site where reputation means absolutely everything, much like ones ability to locate honest traders etc..in general within this space, you have an uphill journey ahead if you want to turn profit consistently and not worry about just breaking even the way things have been lately. Who knows though, the tides may indeed be changing with the recent upward price trend...

In any regard, remember what I said regarding your rep/rating and keep that in mind when you're dealing with 2 different buyers with no feed-back have initiated trades but aren't now responding, effectively locking your stock of coin into escrow until they decide to return or...not.

Good luck if you decide to persist, do you REALLY have to buy from Coinbase of all companies though?

BTCe cool

This user continues where he left off, after a 2-week ban.

It needs a perma ban, 2 weeks was too lenient. Its a waste of everyone's time.
5  Other / Meta / Re: Your IP HAS SOME EVIL POINTS? on: September 02, 2015, 01:47:17 PM
Smells like you are being scammed or whatever. Don't pay shit to anyone if asked.

No, that is no scam. That is when you register a new account on bitcointalk and you use an ip that was previously banned. That only should ensure that a scammer or spammer isn't simply creating the next account and starts over.

With the fee it costs a bit and might make it not worth anymore to scam or spam.
Scams aren't moderated here, so scammers aren't banned (unless they're breaking forum rules, but more often than not they don't break the rules of the forum).

If my understanding is correct, the fee is in place to prevent spammers and trolls to come back to the forum and continue breaking rules. To do so, they'd have to send a little bitcoin to the website, and that wouldn't be worth the time of some who've been banned. Like BadBear said though, it's better than a full IP ban, especially if you decide to use the website over Tor or a public VPN.

But the bad karma is all about IP's that was used by banned or even nuked users. The ip's they used will get bad karma and everyone trying to register with such an ip will have to pay for using it. That way it will get expensive to scam or spam.

And yes, there are accounts nuked not seldom. Which means the account including all posts will be killed.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: There is a chance to see $380+ soon [With charts] on: August 28, 2015, 04:04:54 PM
I hope not many believed that prognosis. We are down very much since then.

It's a pity how unpredictable the bitcoin price is. I mean here were so many that thought it is possible to predict but it wasn't again.
7  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM alert with proof !!! on: August 28, 2015, 04:01:48 PM
And this scam is only possible because what? Right... chargeback. I'm actually happy that satoshi nakamoto never got the idea to implement something like that. Tongue

This subforum is so full of racist shit it's unbelieveable. Not to forget the illuminati and conspiracy theory threads.

Really the sediment of this forum.
9  Economy / Services / Re: ||Stripped Clean - Naked Maid & Butler Service || on: August 28, 2015, 03:48:40 PM
I wonder if these maids come with a bodyguard. Otherwise i would fear that rapes or at least assaults would be inevitable.

Good luck with your venture. I know you will have your customers.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What kind of transaction is that ? on: August 28, 2015, 03:39:07 PM
"Public Note: SPECIAL OFFER ! SEND NOW 0.02 TO THIS WALLET AND GET 0.04 INSTANT ! OR SIMPLY CHOSE ANOTHER MUTIPLIER AT BTC-multiplier.ch (LIMITED OFFER)"

nice way to advertise their ponzi scheme. clever!

shouldn't blockchain.info be some kind of neutral not support ponzis ?

I mean for beginners this looks like some kind of "source" of bitcoin - (information) and could be missleading.

How can a website advertise above a transaction ?

Regards

Blockchain.info is not the owner of the bitcoin protocol.  There is nothing "official" about them.  They are just a business that happens to provide a website that allows people to see the contents of the blockchain. They don't need to be neutral if they don't want to be. There are many other business that provide views of the blockchain if you prefer not to use blockchain.info.

blockchain.info also provides a wallet service.  If you use their wallet service, then they allow you to attach a message to any transaction that you send from their wallet.  That message is NOT sent with the transaction onto the bitcoin network and is NOT stored in the bitcoin blockchain.  Instead, blockchain.info simply stores the message in their own database and when people use the website blockchain.info is then able to show the message along with the transaction.  They do not filter or review the messages.  The transaction sender can write any message they want.

I think he meant exactly this. Blockchain.info is allowing that spam while they could easily fight it. I mean these messages only show up on their site and yes, it is like they support it. They don't even have filters or so to automatically delete this.

So yes, a newbie with a blockchain.info wallet, could see it as if it is bitcoin itself that is full of spam.

Though i think complaining about blockchain.info doesn't bring much good anyway.
11  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-06] 99bitcoins - 20 Bitcoin experts you should be following on Twitter on: August 28, 2015, 03:35:12 PM
no. 15 gavin? serious? he should be in the top 5.

i would not add that list because alot of important devs are missing and they are way more important than Elizabeth Ploshay or Perianne Boring.  Roll Eyes

At least no hearn is included. And maybe gavin is as far at the bottom because his action regarding the fork and bitcoin-xt is such a controversy.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Target 1 or 2 --- Voting LOCKED --- NEW CHART AS OF 8/15/15 (Post #21) on: August 28, 2015, 03:27:46 PM
Guess this threads reader were so shocked of the price development that they stopped reading here. Smiley

At least it seems that the price doesn't want to crash further now anymore. Or what do you guys think?

NOW a prediction would be great. Though i reas some voices claiming that it will stay at these levels for a very long time now.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you an illuminati? on: August 28, 2015, 02:17:31 PM
Are you an illuminati?

What kind of illuminati jokes again this OP, when I saw your last thread you;re asking if this forum is an illuminati community. What a weirdo!

Yes, that's probably the case. I think he heard that bitcoins were created from the illuminati and now he want's to get a confirmation for his believe.

As if an illuminati would claim that he is an illuminati. Roll Eyes
14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is WWF's position on trophy hunting on: August 28, 2015, 01:56:37 PM
The WWF, built to do things under a green cape that otherwise could not happen. Like claiming rain forest is unused land and allowing to plant oiltrees on there. The WWF was build to make things like that possible. And they have the most money of all these organisations. Because those who profit from it are rich already.

And trophy hunting is important. Most of these reservates only survive with the money coming from that. Take that away and the only thing you get are poachers.

Might be that it is not nice but most of the animals killed there would have to be killed anyway because they need to be regulated in order to not destroy the environment.
15  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Entering the bitcoin mining game need advice! on: August 28, 2015, 01:49:15 PM
I'll be honest with you on mining... While the S3 or the S3+'s are tanks you have to have 2 or 3 of them to have at least 1TH. I have 2 S3+'s personally and they run fine but don't expect ROI at all on really any hardware now. Keep it as a hobby otherwise being all about making money or a large amount of profit will take its toll. You need to take into account how much you'd be spending on electricity as well.

Thanks for the input ,

At the moment the current costs im being offered the S3's for

I can achieve ROI in 3 months excluding electricity costs,

I doubt you can. And leaving electricity costs beside is not smart either.

Somehow i think you never heard of the concept of rising difficulty. When you want to check if you will get ROI really then try out this form: https://tradeblock.com/bitcoin/mining/
16  Other / Off-topic / Re: 15 years for having sex on the beach (read witnesses accounts) on: August 28, 2015, 01:42:35 PM
Well, the US is way to dangerous. The prudery is hefty. 15 Years for that is simply not understandable.

I won't visit the US unless i have to. You never know if you can leave it again or if you have to spend your life there. Roll Eyes
17  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-05]CT- UK PM Includes BTC company on Trade Delegation to SE Asia on: August 28, 2015, 01:37:46 PM
I don't think that's too bad at all? I haven't heard that many terrible things about Blockchain, just some complaints about their service.

They have a lot of bugs. Lately they showed that the coins of satoshi moved. In fact their system only was gamed by a hacker.

Of course they are still alive after that long time. But when you check them out you will find enough complaints about them.
18  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ★★ Trustexchanger.com ★★ ████► Currency Exchange Service ◄████ on: August 28, 2015, 01:34:55 PM
*lol* When i have read your title i already wondered why this thread still exists. I thought you offer to exchange trust in order to make forum accouns getting in the green by doing so. Cheesy

Your domain name is a bit strange i think.
19  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should we kick more people off welfare? on: August 28, 2015, 01:32:16 PM
Only if we start from the top. Money making money is a concept that must die.

It will never die and it can't die at all. You think about giving money to others and getting back more. Stop doing that and no one will lend his money anymore. Big disadvantage for the economy.

On top... when it would be disallowed to take interest then you simply get employees that work for you and you have the same result.

By the way... in some religions it's disallowed. They still found ways to circumvent it.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Did you watch the latest Mafia 3 Trailer? WTF ?! on: August 28, 2015, 01:28:03 PM
