61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the worst ICO of 2017? on: December 24, 2017, 03:03:13 PM
Bitjob and wicoin are the worst ico I have seen in this year where no progress from team even they used simple concept failed to show any progress they least concerned about investors.

I have 700 STU (27$ invested) and even on this I am on LOSS! Agree BitJOB is not so good but not biggest bad ICO out there, I think Monetha is worst, not in terms of what they did/or not but how they calculated ICO price and what happened after that, people miss ICO and hit exchanges like me, ended up as heavy bag holders (I had 1000$ loss for 2 months al leats) that just recently turn into profit (approx. 100$ on green now) second is BlackMoonCrypto (enigmatic project, price in range 0.4 to 0.8$ now) ICO price was 1$ - so loss again from day one and buy pack protection instead 2 years lasted 2 months.

Anything else I invest turned into gold or at least silver. This 2 above turned into nothing really.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 ETH - should buy alt or hold on to it on: December 24, 2017, 10:40:36 AM
- Safe Bet
Keep your 1ETH and be happy when the price starts rising again after New Year.
- Participate in good ICO
Good choice for quick profits but risky, not every project brings profits after Tokens start trading on an exchange.
- Buy one of crypto from an exchange after ICO when the price is stable.
This option is safer than ICO but still risky and requires time to take profits.
- Leave 0.5ETH and invest in coins from Top 25 on CMC
A good way to invest without big risk, and you still can enjoy price rise when ETH go to 1000$ and have some alts too.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BLOCKv [VEE] The foundation of the Virtual Goods Economy. 12 OCTOBER on: December 24, 2017, 09:03:39 AM
one of the most beautiful projects lately. is not very popular yet. I like it. I have gained from the campaign Bounty. I've invested a little more.  Smiley
I agree, an excellent project! I hope the team will do everything possible so that we can trade on large exchanges. So far we have only OKEX, but there are practically no volumes.

Actually we have 2 exchanges available - https://www.okex.com/ and https://etherdelta.com/
Bacasue I was using ED a lot recently and after learning curve I like it I can recommend it ED as well.
Only thing if you been using EtherDelta recently on 20.DEC or 21.DEC you should create new account,
there was DNS hack on this exchange. I can see volume on both is almost equal so price should be the same.
Happy Trading. If someone need help how to use EtherDelta there is few videos on YouTube.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are The Banks Scared of Bitcoin? on: December 24, 2017, 08:33:20 AM
Banks like to control all money around the world, Bitcoin on other hand gives you freedom. Banks taking profits from the interest rate, mortgage and loans, that why Bank bosses drive cars earning astronomical money and even bigger bonuses once a year. Bitcoin gives a chance of investment to people, it was designed as a digital currency in the first place but because is limited in quantity to max 21 million became for many an opportunity to invest or just use as saving the account. I try to invest on the stock market, and I'ts hard and you need a big amount of money just to start if you looking for at least 2000$ profit when stock price change (rise).
I did use once in my life Visa card I had a chance buy something for a good price (quick deal) so I used my VISA credit card. Payback 4000$ for investors here on the forum is just to send few ETH or 0.28 BTC but in real life is more difficult and Bank can profit from You if you just pay interest rate monthly for a while instead of your debt. That how they making money! so if there are is a Bitcoin currency and other Alts + now recently new ICO's every day people will start investing their money and make profits so Banks start losing their income and will do anything in their power to change this. That why Bitcoin are always attacked by Banks in media.

67  Other / Off-topic / Re: If bitcoin goes to zero on: December 23, 2017, 11:50:32 AM
Bitcoin will never go to ZERO, create 1BTC cost today 1000$ (electricity costs) and this is absolute minimum value for 1BTC, if anyone sells below 1K that means it will sell with a loss. Bitcoin can only cost less than 1000$ only when you have free powerful mining equipment and free electricity.
Another thing is BTC adoption level that drives price up every single day, last time I've checked in London was 12 ATM machines (approx. 4-5 months ago) Now I've googled BTC ATM again and is 20 ATM machines. Bitcoin was always extremely volatile and I think most of us already get used to seeying price changes +30%/-30% in one day.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etherdelta was HACKED on: December 23, 2017, 11:25:56 AM
I got out most of my ETH and all my tokens. But I still have a couple ETH in the smart contract. How can I get it out? When I use the "withdraw" function in MEW, it only reads my wallet amount (~empty), not the amount in the smart contract.

You will need to open EtherDelta and withdraw from ED website. Second option is use MyEtherWallet to withdraw ETH from smart contract to wallet. here is a link to video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slru097RrfM&feature=youtu.be

Is it safe to open ED right now? I saw the announcement on Twitter, but people are still reporting losing money.

In that case better if you wait. You can always withdraw Tokens using MyEtherWallet. I did withdraw 2 days ago all my Tokens worth 4ETH from ED smart contract. Took me 3h, and 30$ in fees (21,30,40 GWEI) but all Tokens are safe now. Normally I always buy Tokens and  withdraw them from ED Smart Contract and transfer to MyEtherWallet address immediately. My MEW wallets I never Login or use private key and I store keys on offline PC encrypted with VeraCrypt. I check balances using ethereum explorer. Keep in mind that using couple wallet addresses is a good idea. I store Tokens this way in 6 different wallets.

manchester93 may I ask where did you get information people still losing their Tokens?

It proves that Etherdelta has a low on security.
too risky to put coins on that exchanger

You don't need to put coins, once you finish trading you move your Tokens from EtherDelta Smart Contract to Your wallet, if you want super security you can then transfer to another address (that's what I do) and then I check on Ethereum Network Explorer if the transfer is successful and balance is OK.

EtherDelta is a good ERC20 Token exchange, if someone lost Tokens in recent DNS hack it only proves more time is needed to learn and be more careful. Basically, when you open EtherDelta you should see your balance - the website should never ask you to login if you didn't "Forget / Logout". This should be the first red flag for you, I never clean history on my browser so I can open EtherDelta quick. Always try move coins after trading complete, never leave Tokens on exchange.

*** Official update from Reddit - EtherDelta ***

Site has been restored and secured. Official announcement soon.

Just to clear up a few things:

1) If you use Metamask, you're fine.
2) If you use a Ledger, you're fine.
3) If you didn't visit the site on Dec 20th or 21st, you're fine.
If you store your key in a cookie, and you might have visited the site over the last two days (even just loading it), you should assume your key is burned, and transfer Eth and tokens to a new address. Now's a great time to learn to use Metamask!

I just got verified too. The verification process if someone asks took just a little over 48h in my case up to - Level. 1 (email, phone, home address, passport, work details) My daily withdrawal limit is now 10.000$. I received email from Cobinhood once verification processes was completed.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP Surges on Coinbase Rumors on: December 23, 2017, 06:35:33 AM
Coinbase should add Ripple XRP long time ago, it's not no-name project that is running on hype or pump and dump coin, it's a solid digital currency with the good development team and recently hired new communication manager Tom Channick (ex. Facebook com. manager). As long as I remember XRP was always high on CMC.
I personally don't have XRP, don't like their total supply (billions) and centralized structure but must say is not bad project and is here a long time.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold everything on: December 22, 2017, 08:55:17 AM
You need to learn few things before being successful in the crypto world. First thing Bitcoin price like any other cryptocurrency is very volatile and unstable for a longer period of time.
Some people can't stand this ups and downs and give up, but if you invest the amount of money you feel comfortable to risk and check price less frequently like once a week then is more easy to live with that.
I broke the first crypto rule and sold too early my project back in 2015, didn't even need to do that, just impatience after 2 years of waiting took over, and DEV was good, the community too just impatience.
I know is hard to watch price changes and even more to see when you could make a 500.000$ profit but just missed this opportunity.
Now I am back a few months ago and this time I HOLD. So far is very promising and I will keep until I reach 100K-400K and will accumulating when I can if my choices are profitable.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etherdelta was HACKED on: December 21, 2017, 04:09:24 PM
According to EtherDelta on Twitter, all deposits should be safe below is the official announcement from EtherDelta Twitter Account. I moved all Tokens "just in case" I am always a little paranoid with security. So far all my assets are split into 7 MEW wallets.

*IMPORTANT* Also note deposits can only be accessed through user's individual private key via the EtherDelta contract. If you had *NEVER* imported your key on the imposer's phishing site, your deposit should be safe.

75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etherdelta was HACKED on: December 21, 2017, 02:01:41 PM
in the EtherDelta telegram chat there are people who say that MyEtherWallets were emptied, apparantly they are some yotube videos of affected users. Not sure it's correct or just FUD, I could not find anything related to that yet. Still a good advice to move your tokens to another wallet that has not been imported to ED in recent days.

I spend last 3 hours moving all my Tokens from EtherDelta Smart Contract to Wallet and then from Wallet to Private wallet never used with ED or anywhere else. It's a bit my fault I should transfer Tokens after purchase not stack them on the pile with 2 different EtherDelta accounts. All together was nearly 4 ETH to move around in 6 different Tokens, but lucky me I didn't lose a single coin.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etherdelta was HACKED on: December 21, 2017, 10:56:57 AM
Yes, for now, EtherDelta is under investigation, it was DNS hack. For anyone who has left Tokens on EtherDelta Exchange Smart Contract (didn't transfer to wallet) I post list to YouTube how to withdraw Tokens from smart contract to wallet without using EtherDelta website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slru097RrfM&feature=youtu.be
If you been using ED in last 24h clear your DNS cache:
1. Open CMD with administrator privileges  (Run as administrator)
2. Type: ipconfig /flushdns
3. Restart Windows and Router
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] COBINHOOD - ZERO Trading Fee Cryptocurrency Exchange on: December 21, 2017, 08:10:59 AM
I decided to go for LEVEL 1 verification - that requires you to leave a home address, mobile number, passport and work details. Will post my thoughts after verification process is completed. Right now is <24h and nothing confirmed yet, from what I heard on Reddit it may take up to 7 days so be patient and just wait and see.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] COBINHOOD - ZERO Trading Fee Cryptocurrency Exchange on: December 20, 2017, 03:45:35 AM
Can you tell please how to get CMTs for my COBs? Article on medium says that I need to spend 1 COB for CMT, but there is no SMT/COB pair

No, you misunderstand article. You don't need to spent COB for CMT at all. All you need to do is SEND your COBins to Cobinhood Exchange before 5th of January 2018 (Balance must show minimum 500 COB) to be entitled for AirDrop. I will advise register ASAP and start Verification process to Level 1. Just in case you don't want to do for any reason, try send couple COBins and withdraw them after that, Level 0 doesn't state any information about withdraws. I don't want you guys to fall in the trap, you send all your COBins to an exchange and can't withdraw them after/before CMT is Airdrop. I can't check for myself for next 24h because right now I am at work nightshift.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware MERCATOX.COM Exit Scam! on: December 19, 2017, 11:45:12 PM
its been 5  days that i put 20 btc into mercatox to buy XRB since price was increasing fast and and I could not lose the opportunity. When i bought they dont let me withdraw saying that the wallet of the coin was under maintenance. Have a lot of people with the same problem and they do not even respond to emails, tickets, 0 SUPPORT TO THE CLIENT .. now the site went offline GREAT
MAINTENANCE FOR 5 FUCKING DAYS ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
You better run before i hire a hitman to find you son of a bitch

I am really sorry for you stress, inconvenience and whole situation. I can't say nothing to support You. It's a uncomfortable situation, I don't know how we can help you? It's a lot of money, and you know it. I will be scared to transfer 1 BTC to single exchange, probably will send 0.1, 0.5, 1 after first two transfers was all good and withdraw process was successful (back to my wallet). I know future is Decentralised exchanges, where human greed can't take over and steal your hard earned money or coins. I will consider find Mercatox residency address and personally go there with Police informed if they didn't respond. It's your money! It's you life! I will never let that go and be scammed with no reply or waiting process. For sure they based in UK, you will be able to take 20 BTC back then.

80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else sick of Coinbase Ridiculous fees??? Any other options??? on: December 19, 2017, 09:46:59 PM
Absolutely! Coinbase owns GDAX so you can login to GDAX with your Coinbase login - you just need to validate your ID again. GDAX have much smaller fees - a lot more reasonable. I'd recommend login into GDAX whenever you want to transfer your coins to other exchanges/wallets.

GDAX is an exchange that is owned by Coinbase and shares same credentials (login and password will work on both sites) For someone in Europe, I find out Coinbase have higher price per 1BTC than www.bittylicious.com
Last time I've checked was 267$ difference in price! (200£) I've been using Bittylicious for few years, maybe not cheapest service out there, but very quick and professional. Once I put wrong reference number and to my surprise, at 07.00AM Monday morning I was contacted by support and my issue was fixed with Ethereum send to my wallet. Definitely worth to try.
