341  Local / India / Re: India Banning Cryptos on: February 28, 2021, 08:17:58 AM
I didn't wanted to created another topic and so posting it in this relevant thread.

So the RBI governor Shaktikanta Das has confirmed that they are working towards launching their own Digital Currency.
The CBDC is receiving full attention from the RBI as cryptocurrencies are gaining popularity these days.
They are exploring the options whether a digital version of the fiat currency is necessary or not.

More info at : Explained: India inches closer to launching a digital currency; 5 key points
Indian payment systems are already digital enough. A CBDC would probably just serve the central banks better for settlement transactions with banks that they do on a daily basis. It may reduce the workload with DLT servers between the banks themselves.
Besides that, I don't think these will be anything like blockchains or cryptocurrencies. It is as good as replacing the database for central banks. Interestingly though, if the banks launch such currencies; it will become very easy for them to keep track of business transactions done by individuals and professionals. This also means more tax revenue. I think it will be fair if the public too gets to scrutinize the expenses from public authorities in return. Let us do away with CAG and all the other numerous audit agencies. Lets put everything on RBI's CBDC and let everyone watch the transactions.

If this is not the ultimate goal then using CBDC is only going to be an eyewash to dissuade the general public from bitcoin and crypto in general.

Yes cbdc will bring transparency and will prevent lots of financial crimes and discrepancies in private and government sectors.
But fiat is not going to be in use soon. Unless there is some law that if your income is above a certain limit, you must keep your savings in cbdc.
342  Local / India / Re: What are best practices when trading P2P? on: February 21, 2021, 08:36:20 PM
1. Get to know people through bitcoin meetups.
2. Build friendship.
3. Build P2P community with these new friends. New people will always be added when at least one person knows them thoroughly.
Voila !!
This is probably the best idea. if anyone would be open to having such a group in North India, please PM me and we can take it further. With the coming ban, it maybe the case that unnecessary investigations into bank accounts linked with crypto exchanges like WazirX, Binance etc will come under scrutiny.
If for nothing else, I'll be happy to have a real-life group that is positive about Bitcoin and its impact.
But don't you think if btc is banned and we still do p2p trade, we may get into trouble?
Someone from group may report or even economic intelligence teams get to know about it and they will crack down on all group members.
I don't want to be the part of anything that is not approved by law.
343  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria will overtake India in P2P on: February 21, 2021, 09:04:27 AM
It is no secret that India is currently leading P2P among emerging markets or countries traded bitcoin in a restricted environment. Countries as India, Ghana, the Philippines, Argentina, Mexico and Egypt are all relying majorly on peer-to-peer, my thought therefore is that with the ban from open dealings and transactions from bitcoin in Nigerian banks , Nigeria may overtake the India record of leading the P2P emerging market in a year or two.

One reason to point to this is the Nigerian crypto population which showed in Nigeria position as number two in bitcoin market.
India has over 7m crypto population. It is much higher than Nigeria. Bitcoin ban in India will only going to increase p2p trading. Only difference will be now it will take place in some other ways.
People will stop using popular exchanges but trading will continue.
344  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC HIT $50000🎯 on: February 20, 2021, 07:33:43 PM
Wow, another achievement unlocked which indicates that BTC hits another ATH today. $50000 is a huge now and it is already visible and breaks all the previous history. The great day is my cryptocurrency life which will be remembered and the thread will work as a reminder.

Are we going to see another ATH soon or the day will be remembered?
You have started celebrating too early mate. Btc will soon be $100k and then you will have to create another thread for it.
Till last year, btc at $50k seemed distant reality but now even 100k looks so obvious and can happen sooner then we expect.
345  Local / India / Re: What are best practices when trading P2P? on: February 20, 2021, 08:36:33 AM
The main reason is that when mostly people start p2p they don't have enough experience so they just truted on every person but it's wrong when you deal with anyone online check that persons information like where from that guy that's ip address and you must remain in contact with an expert guy.
Ips can be faked by using vpn. Always trade with person who has most positive feedback. Never release funds unless you got your crypto in your wallet.
If you are selling crypto, only release them when you get money to your bank or wallet.
For buying crypto, do them same. Don't trust screenshots as many scammers use photoshopped acreenshots
346  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Pakistan has started work on legalizing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on: February 19, 2021, 08:05:09 PM
~
Do not give these ideas to these government who are thinking hard about how to control the market, a state sponsored wallet is a new concept and countries like China, Pakistan and India can come up with these stupid ideas Cheesy .

It wasn't actually my idea, people have been toying with that concept for a while, including registering your address in a database and allowing businesses to conduct transactions only from those addresses. I can't remember who the bright guy with this concept was.

Anyhow, Forget CH/PK/IN
Venezuela is way ahead of that..
Venezuela to Incorporate Bitcoin and Litecoin Wallets into National Remittances Platform

How convenient, you can now receive your coins from friends abroad in a wallet controlled by the state...
Aren't regulations awesome?  Grin

I don't think there is anything wrong with your idea. If Government legalize crypto on this condition, then why not?
It is better than banning crypto. We will stay behind in crypt and blockchain revolution if we ban crypto so any idea or conditions by Government should be accepted.

348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: It feels as if BINANCE is going to blow up the Bitcoin Bubble big time on: February 18, 2021, 08:21:47 PM
We were aware of the token called "Binance Coin" a long time ago. In July 2020 we posted an article about it when the price of 1 BNB was only $18.

However, we are considering publishing an article about the exact opposite direction, since Bitcoin has completely bubbled itself into the $50k territory and 1 BNB is worth now close to $200 ! (more than 10x times what it was worth in July 2020).

The only way for the Crypto bubble to burst is through Binance, that's how we see it.

Binance is not really regulated, and it's perhaps one of the top Crypto exchanges out there.

However, the fact it's not regulated is putting it at huge risk, and currently the bubble is inflated so much, so all it takes is some action against it just like the previous payment providers such as e-gold and LibertyReserve which have been destroyed by US regulators - and then you have a worldwide bubble coming into a huge burst.

What do you think about this scenario? How far is it from reality?

We definitely wish Binance lots of success and we hope it would never go under any type of scrutiny but the bubble is inflated in a way that this scenario is simply screaming out loud that it is going to happen.

But what do you think?

We would like to hear your opinions.

You got paid by some binance rival for posting this? Why would any exchange want to do that?
Btc is the mother of all cryptos, if it goes down, entire market sentiment will shaken and all alts will go down to including bnb
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Nigeria Come Late to the Bitcoin Party? on: February 17, 2021, 08:46:55 PM
Have you ever seen a developing country lead a technological revolution? I have not seen it happen; they always take the back seat of every revolution.

But, there is something special about Nigeria; it is a country that has what it takes to lead the cryptocurrency revolution.
You may be asking how I know this. The answer is very simple. The youth population are very active when it comes to entrepreneurship and digital activities.

Here are three examples;

1.   They used Twitter, Reditt and other social media to mobilise resourses and people during the #EndSars protest.
2.   The is country leading the Crypto transaction in Africa is Nigeria by Google trends ranking.
3.   We have some digital entrepreneurs in the crypto space with interesting innovations.
Well, as Elon Musk said that “he was late to the bitcoin party”, but we have seen that he was not late to the party, if Tesla invested $1.5bn at $38K/btc into btc and it current price is above $50k/btc, do we call that lateness or first mover benefit?

With the way the Nigeria government is regulating crypto transaction, will the country be late to the btc exciting and rewarding party?

Just buying and selling or holding Bitcoin will not lead Nigeria to Bitcoin party. It should be pioneer to accept btc as digital currency. More and more local businesses must start accepting btc.

$50k is thing of past. Now BTC hit $51k. This is not going to stop now. We will see new high every second day.
Those who left out, will never be able to get to the train again.
351  Local / India / Re: India Banning Cryptos on: February 17, 2021, 09:00:25 AM
Well, this was unexpected. The information I got from my source was different. It's bad to see that government is still skeptical about cryptocurrencies. I am not very positive about the word 'private'. I don't think government is being technical here and referring to privacy coins. The term 'private' here, more or less referring to the general meaning i.e. the ownership other than that of government.

I am also not very positive about the term 'exceptions'. I don't think it is being used to exclude some of the current coins like bitcoin from the ban. Rather, it would allow certain class of people to create cryptocurrencies. I think this is a kind of corporate favouritism. Since most of the big companies in India have already invested alot in blockchain technology, government will allow them to host their own coins. (Government being controlled by the corporate, this isn't something new we are witnessing, right?).

Anyhow, the details of bill still isn't available in public domain. Let see what it contains when it will be presented in Parliament. Sad

There's a spelling mistake in the word cryptocurrency in the last sentence which creates a doubt in my mind if the source is actually true.

The image is not from the official bill. It's rather a list containing all 20 bills to be presented in upcoming Budget Session. Such mistake can happen, nothing special.

These were my thoughts too. Even after the RBI's previous bans were overturned, there's again gonna be some kind of banning of crypto. And you bet that the government will start promoting their own/cryptos that are made for certain private companies like crazy. I'm hoping for this to not pass during the Budget Session on 1st Feb, but what the hell, it probably will and that's just sad, even after more people embracing crypto, its still being held in a negative light by the government.

I sure hope trading and exchanges like Binance can still operate in India, atleast let trading be legal. Otherwise this stifles the tech in India in people are just missing out. Here's what I want to know though: Even after the ban, can people still trade on platforms that do not require KYC? Can people keep the BTC that they have currently and use it for BTC transactions, without exchanging for fiat in India?
Due to the anonymous nature of BTC, I think yes people can still hold and trade it on dex or exchanges that do not require kyc buy it is going to be risky affair. I don't advice to do anything against law.

do not yet come to any conclusion, Government has been playing with the mind of the Indian cryptocurrency community since 2018. They have signaled that they will ban it many times but the biggest question arises How?

There are more people on the internet in India than anywhere in the world, Is it practically possible to ban cryptocurrency which is also known as Internet currency. I do not think so!

When Pakistan is trying to regulate and China is also how can you think this Indian government will ban crypto?

They certainly can't ban but it can affect/scare away the user base of crypto in India, in just last week or so usdt price came down because of this ban news.
What are you saying? Why can't they ban it? They can ban it but it will not be easy to implement the ban.
BTC is untraceable, you can hold it in your mobile wallet and nobody will know it.
Just stop usind centralised exchanges to buy and sell and you will be good.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk tweet causes Dogecoin holders to dump on: February 16, 2021, 07:55:19 PM
It appears Elon Musk has trolled the Dogecoin community. This might have also caused the number of bagholders to increase which might also cause an increase in the number people in the Dogecoin community hehehehe.

In any case, this might also only be a distraction from the bad news that Tesla was summoned by Chinese regulators for consumer complaints on quality. The skeptical me also thinks that the summon might also not be just caused by consumer complaints. There might be more behind the story.

If major Dogecoin holders sell most of their coins, it will get my full support. Too much concentration is the only real issue imo.

Source https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1361094185412100096

"Chinese regulators summon Tesla on quality issues as consumers complain about quality ... but $TSLA bought $BTC," the Scion Asset Management boss tweeted, using the tickers for Tesla and Bitcoin. "In my mind's eye, so much #digitalconfetti."

Nobody knows what this guy is upto. Why is he promoting dogecoin out of many good cryptos. If he had to promote something, he could have promoted eth.
Dogecoin has no real use case it is useless.

354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 16, 2021, 07:48:00 PM
what's wrong with eth chain 12 hours and my withdrawal still pending and it's just 300$
ETH becoming a shitty token
my transaction is not even showing in the explorer
https://blockchair.com/ethereum/transaction/0x713f853e3b48ecd4a3428752d02761cf33fa235f1d6589756a6279e81849b82e

If "pending" then the exchange hasn't processed the withdrawal yet..   nothing to do with ETH.

Nop it's already sent, by meaning pending the eth still not showing in my balance
What do you mean by not showing in balance? You can always check it on etherscan. Sometimes if fee is low it takes longer time for transaction to go through.
Make sure you used good fee. If it got rejected, it will reflect in your balance after some time.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you say you made money if you never actally sell your coins? on: February 16, 2021, 08:38:28 AM
Should you hodl forever?  Does everyone have a price?  What is yours?   Huh
Btc is currency, spend it to buy things. Money always depreciate if you hold it. Invest it if you want it to grow.
Unfortunately spending it to buy something is still not possible in many cases buy soon we will able to buy everything directly with Bitcoin then I will start spending it.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin make someone the richest in the world? on: February 16, 2021, 08:32:44 AM
I came to investigate the richest man in Africa, he is not a bitcoin users, but a business man who don't depend on bitcoin investment.
The richest man in the world, he is not a bitcoin users but a business man who use fiat Money to invest and make a good profit.
Is there any way someone can use bitcoin to invest and become the richest in the world?
Your opinion is needed.
It has already made many billionaire. All founders of top 10 exchages, and so many anonymous whales all are rich because of Bitcoin.
357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin go up to $1000k? on: February 16, 2021, 08:31:01 AM
I am new at http://bitcointalk.org.
I want to know more about BTCitcoin.
One of my friends told me BTCitcoin will go up to $1000K.
Is this possible?Huh

There is no doubt btc will one day go to $1000k and perhaps higher but do not buy it just because of this reason.
Bitcoin is financial freedom. It gives you power in your hand.
If you want to hold it for long, start buying dips in small portion.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Safecrex Exchange [ANN] on: February 15, 2021, 10:02:29 PM
There are already so many crypto exchanges out there, what makes your exchange different?
Why ine should trade on your exchange instead if established exchanges like Binance?

360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO investment criteria and advices on: February 14, 2021, 09:21:39 PM
Hello all,

I've been investing in crypto since 2017 and now I would like to try to invest some money in a ICO.

I've been reading post from this forum and internet and now I now a few thing about this, though, I want to know if you have some hints on how to know if an ICO is promising.

Usually I check icodrop webpage but Im not totally secure on where to put my money in. I would like to know peoples criteria in order to choose a good ICO.

Please, any advice would be highly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!
Good question. Even I wanted to ask this. I have realised that if project is backed by good team and big partners, chances are it will succeed.
Most projects also secure big amount during seed funding. These projects are worth investing.
