301  Economy / Goods / Re: NEFT Vodka and Bitcoin on: September 07, 2012, 12:08:41 PM
Cool story, cool webpage, cool marketing... even cooler would be local distributors accepting bitcoins.
302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So im new to bitcoin and the whole mining thing... Is bitcoin worth it? on: September 07, 2012, 11:10:05 AM
However, now is the right time to jump on ASIC mining train before it leave the station.
Check out Butterfly Labs SC or bASIC. If you buy them now, you have some good chance to earn some shiny BTCs.

But always remember this:

Bitcoin should only be considered a risky investment.  Don't invest more than you are willing to lose...

Also, Bitcoin is store of value and money transfer network. Not get-rich-quick scheme. Main purpose of mining is securing the blockchain. Block reward is just a bonus Smiley
303  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Two choices. on: September 07, 2012, 07:59:39 AM
I case the head of closed society is god-like all knowing person, it's fine for me. However such person or group does not exist, and will never be...
304  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Black Pearl Investments - 15% Weekly Interest. Enough booty for everybody! on: August 30, 2012, 11:28:58 AM
Japanese name, promises of high interest rates, defending a strengths of a dead project. Oh so nostalgic. Please send me a deposit address. It's a joke worth losing some money Smiley
305  Economy / Economics / Re: Bristol to launch their own currency in September on: August 24, 2012, 11:02:08 PM
After reading the article, I must say - This seems to be really useless. People will eventually lose on exchange fees without any advantages as compensation. At first I thought it would be more like Greek TEM.
306  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Smart card wallet, take 2 on: August 24, 2012, 08:26:49 PM
Hi, have you heard of OpenPay? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=92055.0
How I wish these 3 card related projects can be merged or at least be compatible with each other so that merchants could have only one device for all. (I know this project is not aimed on customer <=> merchant transactions)
Don't take me wrong, I love diversity and competition, but what we need now is single product that can be used by masses.
307  Other / Off-topic / Re: Im Starving so... on: August 24, 2012, 03:51:47 AM
If some restaurant in my city were accepting BTC, there would be no BTCs left for trading in my wallet...
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PUSH Me / PULL U on: August 24, 2012, 02:34:43 AM
If I understand this right, you want an ability for some institution (landlord, ISP, mobile network operator...) to take some unpredictable amount of money from you account on regular basis? Then why not share a private key with them?

edit_____________
I must be blind. That's exactly what Domrada is suggesting above...

311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep your Bitcoins on an exchange? on: August 07, 2012, 04:18:05 PM
I only keep money I am trading with on exchanges. The rest is lying on USB falsh disk.
Already gone through the paperwork with gox. I did not know why at first, but then I realized that I am running tor middle node on same server as I use as proxy to browse the web while I'm at work.
312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What kind of tools can I produce for the bitcoin community? on: August 04, 2012, 09:59:45 PM
Opencart payment module communicating directly to bitcoind or electrum server.
313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cannot connect to network on: July 30, 2012, 05:38:40 AM
I don't think it has anything to do with port forwarding. He's obviously not connected at all. Not even standard 8 connections if you are behind firewall.
Tell him to try
Code:
telnet electrum.bitcoins.sk 8333
or any other known online node and post the output.
314  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Interesting conversation with a retailer who formerly accepted Bitcoin on: July 30, 2012, 03:18:48 AM
Guys, what about creating a donation fund for bit-pay to hire developer who will integrate support for their API for 3dcart?
315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I made 100BTC with Satoshi's dice. Is this normal? on: July 28, 2012, 04:03:19 AM
I've never been into gambling, but after trying the php bot mentioned above (just because I think automating any task increase the coolness factor to over 9000) and winning more than 100% of the original value.. the temptation is so strong!
I'm not sure what's so special about SD... maybe the fast speed ensure the dope of adrenalin every few seconds Tongue
316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Am I Encrypting Right? on: July 27, 2012, 06:39:55 PM
In my .bitcoin directory, there is only link to wallet.dat on USB. So there is no need to delete anything on local HDD after closing bitcon client. I just unplug the USB key.
Also I keep several online and offline backups of wallet in truecrypt containers, and several backups of keepassx password database with password for truecrypt containers and wallet itself.
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain.info https contains unsecured content on: July 27, 2012, 06:30:24 PM

318  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] OpenPay - Entering Burn In, Shake Down & Alpha Test phase. on: July 27, 2012, 04:33:37 AM

320  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does satoshidice.com own satoshidice.net? Or have I just been scammed? on: July 22, 2012, 02:37:41 PM
You can use WOT plugin for firefox to give it bad rating. If enough people do that, it will raise a warning at least for other WOT users.
