X-Cash Article

Hello everyone, hope you are doing good!

A few important information today:
- Coinspeaker, a prominent crypto-news website, has written a piece about X-Cash. There is a new piece of yet undisclosed information within which I believe will arouse your curiosity.
Link to article: https://www.coinspeaker.com/x-cash-privacy-transparency-web-3-0/
Link to tweet (share): https://twitter.com/coinspeaker/status/1384097871809507338

- We are so close to start the testnet, there are a few things to deploy (Denis has been working late nights to speed up the process), and Zach is preparing a security audit to ensure that when we release it to the community, you can rest assured that your X-Cash will be in safe hands.

We will keep you posted !

Re posting Paul in discord today, as we have released the new elctronjs GUI wallet (built from scratch no fork of any project) today in an alpha phase.

===================================================
Hello @everyone, hope you are having a good weekend.
Today, we would like to officially release an early access of the X-Cash GUI Wallet and put it in your hands!

This first version of the GUI wallet will enable you to create or restore and existing wallet, and vote to a delegate, as well as monitoring your vote.

Why is it early access?
As it is, the GUI wallet is functional but far from being finished, and is missing some mandatory features to be completely operational. You will find bugs, and will find that there is a lot of UX improvements to be made.
These features and improvements will be listed in the desktop-wallet repository, and we will assign bounties to each of them. The wallet being developed in JS using the Angular framework, some of these features will be an easy entry into contribution for people willing to learn about coding. We want to give you the means to contribute to the project.

Please find the download links and the installation instructions on the release page of the desktop-wallet repository: https://github.com/X-CASH-official/desktop-wallet/releases/tag/v0.0.1-alpha

The repository: https://github.com/X-CASH-official/desktop-wallet

Being an alpha version, you will most likely find issues and bugs. You can communicate them in #desktop-wallet , we are taking notes and adding them to the backlog of code fix we have to provide.

Nice update there Zach. It is quite obvious your. and the whole Xnetwork teams, dedication, and passion for this project is beginning to take root with the start of this unique DPOPS  platform. We, the constituents can be as impatient as badgers at times it must seem to you. You handle that very well I must say. Thank you for your level commitment to this project.

Thank you very much captainfalconer

So what is the next step?
When it was launched, a community on this forum was very enthusiastic but slowly faded away and the community lost interest due to the lack of updates on project developments.
I think the team should start doing more massive promotions on social media or in this forum.
You can start the Bounty program. This is just a suggestion Smiley

Just speaking as a observer/ small bag hodler.

The team is 100% self-funded and didn't run an ICO, so development didnīt have the huge pools of resources to pull from like some other projects have. From what I have seen, the team has been meticulous in testing (itīs all public), and I think they're on round 16 of beta testing the dpops feature alone. The Bitcointalk community may have lost interest due to the length of development time (2 and a half years), which is natural, especially with regards the wider crypto community. I think the team is aware of this, and recently began running a contributor program which is an evolution of the staple bounty program.

Couldn't have said it better
you can look at the github to see all of the updates I spent 10 hours a day on average for 7 days a week for 2 years basically on this.

There was not much to write about because all we could say was it was in development. A little more communication on here would have been good though.

I started working on it December 28th 2018, after me and Guilhem finalized the creation of it on paper and researched it in the month of NOV

We launched the alpha Oct 2019 (10 months after I started it) but we had issues with it and alpha lasted all the way until about july 2020
Not only some issues, but it took the first month just to help everyone install the delegates, so it then took 2 months after for us to write a bash autoinstaller with the communities help as many joined in the contribution on the script.

along the way designs were also changed due to the responses of people in the alpha and their great ideas. Of course some bugs were found as well, and that is all public on the issues in github as well as the bounties paid out.
https://github.com/X-CASH-official/xcash-dpops/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aclosed

The beta went from AUG1 to now and was about testing at a larger scale and removing small bugs, and adding new features people asked before. I also spent about 1 month making it more decentralized so seed nodes have no more importance than a regular pow blockchain. All seed nodes can be turned off and the system still works.

Also a few efficiency updates as it only uses 1GB of ram, and someone was even able to get this to work on PI4 in the betas

You can read about every beta in the discord ANN channel for DPOPS

I know some on the BTC talk forum lost hope or got upset with the time it took, but if you followed the github and discord most saw how much work was going into it.

Like I said the hardest protocol is done, now the others wont take that long, since they build ontop of xcash-core and mostly xcash-dpops, and are really extensions of xcash-dpops "core" functions which took about 4 out of the 9 months to build

As far as next steps Paul is more suited to answer, but we are doing more marketing in letting older users that put xcash on hold that the DPOPS is done, and more will follow. we also have the Wxcash going on with other team members right now, and that will allow people to stake from x-bank and a lot of other higher level features for newer people.

GUI wallet is also being worked on, as its from scratch in angular and electron

Is there a staking reward calculator for voters?

Just found this article about the expected ROI:
https://medium.com/x-cash/dpops-faq-general-information-expected-roi-and-more-7e83e839c912

"The delegates could also set the fees to a minimum of 24% to pay for the server hosting service. If the delegates set the fees at 24%, the return will be 1.75% return/monthly, or 21% return/yearly on your stake net of the fees."

your looking about 8-9M for a solo delegate for the first month or more of DPOPS
current block reward is something around 54K so if we assume 50K by block 800K

6.4 blocks per day
50K reward
30 days in month

(6.4*50000)*30 = 9.6M

yes you can set the fee from 0-100 so you can charge how much the server will cost

Where do I buy a node? and how many are up for grabs??

you can still mine xcash or buy on exchanges
I would recommend
https://trade.citex.co.kr/trade/XCASH_ETH
https://app.stex.com/en/basic-trade/pair/LTC/XCASH/240
https://app.stex.com/en/basic-trade/pair/ETH/XCASH/240

but were also on hotbit and graviex

There are only going to be 50 nodes, but 45 only since we are having 5 seed nodes(they wont mine any blocks though)
as for the amount its a total guess right now

you can view the current delegates in a beta test at
http://delegates.xcash.foundation/

if you look at the average delegate total vote that would be the amount right now to get into the top 45 for this test

I assume mainnet will be much higher, but it totally depends on who stakes and who shows up

we have estimated in an article it will be around 540M but it could be lower or higher

Hello everyone

I have not posted on here I think at all this year since its been a busy time finishing up DPOPS

I encourage everyone to read the article and start preparing for DPOPS

Just a quick update on some things

#1 Yes DPOPS took longer than expected but it is finished now, and have set the release date. never a doubt we were not going to finish it
lets remind everyone its from scratch in C, no forks of anything else out there and was 50K lines of code (35K being C the rest being bash and html). Its highly optimized at about 1GB RAM usage and about 1% of CPU usage

#2 The new 2.0 GUI is currently being worked on but took a back seat to DPOPS so not sure when it will be released but its in development, as we want it to be bug free
#3 Dont expect the next protocols to take as long as DPOPS. DPOPS was about 6 protocols in one product, so the rest will have 1-2 max
#4 The next protocols on the list will be (in no order) non fungible tokens, smart contracts, regular tokens, side chain instant payments, a voting system for delegates and public tx 2.0 so lots of exciting things
#5 Public tx 2.0 will allow you to assign "public" status to any existing or new XCA wallet, so only public tx can be sent to it. This might be very useful for businesses in the future
#6 I have stared the zachy.zone youtube channel, where every 2 weeks I create a video for the x-cash community. you can check it out at
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJV0Pm2YB5j43iWvsfT55EQ

Note this is not a "crypto" channel and is not of that quality, its more about learning more about X-CASH and cryptonote in general, with some side of my opinions

For people that have doubts about the project  Smiley

I encourage you to
watch DPOPS vs other consensus protocols = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTn5lC_nn80
watch DPOPS explained = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG3qKNyuOFw
watch DPOPS code overview = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xOMEJuqVCY

and check the DPOPS code and activity
https://github.com/X-CASH-official/xcash-dpops/graphs/contributors

Thank you everyone and hope to have a great next year with everyone as the speed of development and marketing should pick up this year

I also invite you to join are discord channel if you have not yet
I used to only use this forum for other coins as well, but our discord community is very helpful and respectful and we dont censor critical post about the project
This is also the best place to get help from me or someone in the community if you need help on setting up a delegate or voting

The mining algo is Cryptonight Heavy X (AKA CNV8 Double)

The main cryptonight miners support it the last time I checked

I listened Live audio from team meeting, that happened few days ago.
Good to hear team is working on DPOS and other parts of X network.

I would love to see X-cash listing on better exchanges with real volume...

Hi,
Thanks for participating in the live discord broadcast, we hope to have these more frequently.

I think Guilhem did mention about the exchanges that we will be looking at the larger exchanges once DPOS is on the mainnet
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]X-CASH | First CNv8 based coin with public & private transactions on: June 10, 2019, 12:05:53 AM
The only way to decode an XCB address now is to open an rpc wallet for your wallet
Code:
./xcash-wallet-rpc --wallet-file WALLET_NAME --password PASSWORD --rpc-bind-port A_RANDOM_PORT --confirm-external-bind --daemon-port 18281 --disable-rpc-login --trusted-daemon

then issue this command using curl
Code:
curl -X POST 127.0.0.1:18285/json_rpc -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":"0","method":"split_integrated_address","params":{"integrated_address": "THE XCB ADDRESS"}}' -H 'Content-Type: application/json'

which will give you back the payment ID and the XCA address

I have the reverse on the explorer
https://explorer.x-cash.org/CreateIntegratedAddress

but did not see a need for the the decoding until now, so in the next update I will add the decode integrated address

Failed to get random outs error should be fixed now when using any of the remote servers.

Here is also an official blockchain bootstrap file, incase anyone wants to download the blockchain

http://159.69.108.101/X-CASH_Blockchain/X-CASH_Blockchain_28_04_2019

to use, put the file in the x-cash binaries folder and then run

Windows
Code:
xcash-blockchain-import --input-file X-CASH_Blockchain_28_04_2019

Linux
Code:
./xcash-blockchain-import --input-file ./X-CASH_Blockchain_28_04_2019

Hi everyone

I understand some of the issues with the GUI wallet. We are currently working to fix some of these issues.

here is all of the steps to fix a wallet that is not syncing.
make an exclusion in your antivirus to the folder the binaries are in
run the GUI as admin
make sure the wallet file name does not contain a space or non latin characters (so "my wallet" should be renamed to "mywallet" etc)

these are usually the problem for the wallet not syncing up

Note if your syncing the wallet for the first time using the local daemon it is going to take 10+ hours to download the blockchain, but it will show the progress. If your using the remote node it should only take 10-30 seconds for any of the nodes no matter your location. The first time you create a wallet it will take 5+ minutes to build the cache.

Another error I see a lot in discord is "failed to get random outs". This is due to a limit the remote wallets have in them. It also happens because most of us have mined small multi daily payouts from pools and have lots of unspents. One can fix the issue by

sending smaller amounts or
running a local daemon as this does not have a limit

I am going to tomorrow change the remote settings in the core code for the remote servers from the default limit to a higher limit, to see if this fixes this issue for people this week in discord, since this can be a annoying issue without a great fix, if one does not want to use the local daemon. If anyone currently gets this error let me know if after tomorrow it goes away.

Also just a note, one of us is usually on discord or on here, and were more than willing to help users even if you need to DM us to get your wallet working.

As far as the team, there has been no one that has left, or stated they wanted to leave. Tias was an ambassador on discord/telegram, not part of the actual team. Ambassadors are very important, and are trusted members of the community and are able to help out with issues or concerns on telegram/discord. Team members are the only ones with access to servers team chats etc, The core team has grown from 3 people when we launched on July 31 2018 to 8 people less than a year later.
you can always check the official team members at https://x-network.io/#team

Most of the exchange doing a fake volume by the exchange/user. I don't really care about that for right now at least we got a good result getting another centralized exchange, because STEXX need a lot time for deposit/withdraw i remember the first time trading X-CASH at there need to take 5 hours for my deposit get in into my exchange account, i used the highest fee.

Yes for stex it has a high number of confirmations (I believe cryptopia as well) so raising the fee wont help really in that situation since usually the tx fits in the first or second block and the bulk of the wait is for the blocks after your tx. We plan on contacting all of the exchanges after DPOS and having them lowered since the tx will have better finality when DPOS is introduced.

Also for the wallet that someone asked about, we will put out an update at some point, but X-BANK / DPOS is the focus right now
The wallet had most bugs fixed, but I am aware of a few small ones still.

Also for the syncing time it should not take long at all for the remote node, I can connect to all 5 of them within 10-60 seconds

usually if its stuck at the progress bar for the remote node try these
run as admin in windows
make sure your Antivirus did not delete the xcashd or xcash-wallet-rpc

Hi
Yes we had that meeting last Saturday on the issue. We will soon announce our solution and implement it into this months airdrop. We will go from there to see the effectiveness of it, plus if the community is good with it.

I hope its not lvl 2 or lvl 3 KYC. For a few bucks its too much.

I am glad you brought this up. It is not any more KYC, as this was voted on as the worst way we could fix the problem.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions on the airdrop part. I will bring the bitcointalk addition up at the meeting. As one member has already posted, this might not work due to the fact that it in my opinion (for cryptocurrency as a whole) it looks like the only people using bitcointalk for the majority of coins seem to have been in crypto for a while, since this was one of the few places to talk about crypto years ago and a lot of newer people are using discord or others more than the forums these days, so it might limit the number of available accounts, thus creating a centralized factor once again.

As for the Algo, yes it is not like a heavy algo in the fact that it favors cards with 8GB+ (it has 2MB scratchpad not 4MB) it just does double the work (the loop is doubled in the code), hence why it is also called CN_Double in some of the mining software. You should be getting half of what you had before the fork, regardless of what your using to mine.

I would also reiterate that the Algo is anti nicehash and anti ASIC, meaning that the only people who can mine are regular users (in theory). The reason we switched to this algo was because in the next quarter (Q2 or early Q3) POS will be coming out. I will post on here when we release the full details of it (minimum staking, ROI, how it works etc). The algo allows for a better decentralized total going into POS, since it will be full POS not proof of work anymore (we will explain why and how it makes the coin more secure) as this is a custom built POS solution not a typical POS solution.

Also someone asked if the coins were distributed already. I am not sure what you mean, since this was a no ICO project. We were launched and able to be mined for about 5 weeks I think before being on the original three exchanges though.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP]X-CASH | First CNv8 based coin with public & private transactions on: April 04, 2019, 11:26:49 PM
So I want to address the airdrop issue as best as I can right now, and I will come back later as well.

So first off I do want to clarify, their was growth in the project, using our internal metrics as well as just looking at the market cap. from 300K to 1.3M and currently around 900K - 1M. If their was a bunch of people getting a lot of X-CASH I would have excepted the market cap to drop since they would not really care what price they were selling that X-CASH at.

With this being said, we are well aware that their are cheaters and that were not stopping all of them, that is just logical and part of any airdrop. We believe that we did stop many of them on this last airdrop, since we have tested our SMS providers with many "tricks", yet we know there are still problems and tricks we are unaware of.

Were having a meeting on Saturday to talk about this, as well as many other important topics, to decide how we want to proceed, and what changes we want to make to our current airdrop requirements.

It is a delicate balancing act on this airdrop, because we dont want to enforce too much KYC or hoops for people to go through, because that would mean less people applying and it would be centralized, which is almost just as bad a having no checks and having people create thousands of accounts, thus centralizing the airdrop.

Also we know that a lot of people (especially since were a privacy coin at our core) would not like to submit anymore KYC information for the airdrop.

As you can see were trying to refine the airdrop process, and I hope to have a good solution on Saturdays meeting.
