61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth the work and waiting? on: February 23, 2019, 11:13:20 PM
So you have being wearing a signature for more that ten weeks. Each week you made more than 15 post on different thread on this forum. And just when you done with the campaign you have been asked to keep the signature for three more weeks while wait for stakes to be calculated. After stakes are calculated, it takes more than 3+ weeks for tokens to arrive in your wallet. and a month for the token to go on exchange. On exchange, all your token is worth for your hard work is just less than $50.
How do you feel?
How will you react?
I would like to recommend all bounty managers and ICO project teams to make their bounty campaign as brief as possible. A bounty campaign shouldn't exceed two months. Even if their is need for a longer bounty, they should start a 2nd campaign.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can an exchange that requires KYC call itself as DEX? on: February 23, 2019, 11:11:00 PM
Recently, I've encountered a Korean exchange that requires KYC before you can start trading. Their website says its a DEX.

I got used to the idea that decentralized exchanges like Etherdelta, Forkdelta, DDEX should not require any personal information from traders. Just connect the wallet and that it.

EDIT: For those who are asking for the exchange name, it is Allbit. Based on the replies, it seems that this case is only in S. Korea. Let's hope this does not spread.

A decentralized exchange simply implies that you have full control and anonymity of your account. If a decentralized exchange requests something as important as KYC, then it is obviously a centralized exchange by such act. You need to be careful with your tokens in that case.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth buying low-volume tokens? on: February 23, 2019, 11:07:34 PM
I noticed this phenomenon. Often someone buys up all the proposed tokens with a small amount of trading (for example, look at SMT on hitbtc this night), and after a few days these tokens go up in price very much. Is it worth buying such a token?
Not all low priced tokens are safe for long term investment. It is best to use the high prices coins which are already very stable as you will be more sure of their future survival or relevance.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to invest on: February 23, 2019, 11:02:52 PM
I want to put some money into BTC, just in case, I also wouldn't mind learning to profit off trading them weekly or on a daily basis, I see potential. It looks alot more easier than forex and quicker than stocks.

Where do I start?

P.S - How is BTC expected to be the future if it so volatile, you will always have to worry about how much your paying ETC.
This original post was made in December 2017 probably when Bitcoin was at its all time high. The price of Bitcoin has since plunged to the $4000 we have today. Maybe that should answer your questions. Bitcoin will be very difficult to be used for payment or stored as a valued asset due to this high price volatility.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Mew safe now?? on: February 23, 2019, 10:57:20 PM
Huh damnit i wanted to sell my vibe tokens, but to afraid to log in...  Angry

How can i know if its safe. Can a page be exactly the same as a phising site? I bookmarked it  half a year ago. Can a bookmarked site allways be trusted or what?
If you have already booked marked a website, it will remain the same and safe as long as the web address has not been changed by its owners. It doesn't matter the number of years past.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why I Don't Do Bounty Campaigns & Why You Shouldn't Either on: February 23, 2019, 10:54:41 PM
So a few months ago I did some bounty work for a company called Swachhcoin. Like many of you, I spent countless hours developing and creating posts that highlighted key features of the platform. Fast forward several months...they tell all of us bounty campaign participants that we will have to pass KYC to receive the NEW swachhcoin tokens (SWACHH). My previous Swachhcoin tokens (SCX) are now worth $0 and I will have to do KYC to get my new usable tokens. Also, they set a monthly limit of how many tokens we can sell. We will receive 10% each month to prevent dumping. I like this idea, but NONE of this was presented during the bounty campaign period. I also bought 2 ETH worth of tokens and they've delayed the project at least 2 times! To me, this is unprofessional, ridiculous, and outlandish. Sorry for the rant, but this is the exact reason I've been slowly putting my money into projects that I think have a future. I'm trying to stay away from the bad apples and put some leftover money aside into Bitcoin, Nauticus, Ethereum, EOS, and even XRP.
More and more negative remarks and experiences have continued to pour in by different people on this platform. That means the bounty managers and ICO teams should do what is write to save the bounty programs so that people don't loose interest.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO makes me sick on: February 23, 2019, 10:49:32 PM
No funds no project idea makes me sick and tired of ICO ,I never like the idea right from the beginning ,why? Well to me if you are the owner of your business or company and you have struggled a lot to build it you won't dare want to let go or see it crumbled and fail, this is not present in ICO cases ,ICO is just like "oh if not much funds then I will back off and reopen another project maybe we can reach the hard cap" ,well if every developers are the ones funding there projects they will be more serious to make it a successful one,the easy safe path of backing out if hardcap is never achieved makes it feel easy for every one especially the scammers, I'm not been heartless ,if you don't have money to fund your project just don't bother ,many coins out there have no ICO ,no premine ,no bullshit with fine price per coin ,they never want any funds ,coins like masari ,Loki, haven project, dero rely on nobody fund yet they perform better than hundreds of ICO.
The frustrations in ICO currently is enough to to make anyone sick. Sometimes you just feel like dumping all the peanuts that are left of the tokens.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are other ways to earn? on: February 23, 2019, 10:46:43 PM
I'm actually new to this industry and i want to earn some money without putting some in the line(A.K.A investing) and i doubt myself that i could actually know how to manage my coins is there any way to earn money that would kick start me in this industry?
The only thing that may be guaranteed now is trading as bounties and airdrops are not good options anyone because of lack of payment or reduced reward at the end of campaign.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ask The Bounty Team before joining on: February 23, 2019, 10:41:11 PM
Recently, I just had this bad experience with a bounty campaign I joined (Vanta to be specific). They've extended the campaign, added some task, and threatened participants that they'll not get all the bounty rewards if they won't participate. I raised my concerns to the bounty manager and I was quite disappointed with the response.

To all fellow hunters, you may want to ask this questions to your bounty managers before joining a campaign:

1. Bounty campaign extension
- Will the team ask for an increase in the bounty pool?
- Will the team close the registration and allow only those participants prior to extension?

2. ICO team inserting rules after the campaign
- Will the team allow ICO teams add rules like exchange voting and require hunters to participate?
- What would be the bounty team's response if ICO teams would withhold the bounty rewards to force hunters to participate?

These questions might help you understand how strong the bounty manager is when it comes to protecting its group of bounty hunters.

Disclaimer: I've also posted a similar topic in other forums I'm into. In case someone checks my post for plagiarism

I don't think honestly that asking this questions about the campaign from the bounty manager will make a difference. They can still tell you NO to all the questions but still add them in future of the bounty campaign.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Neo to surpass Eth on: February 23, 2019, 10:31:49 PM
Everyone keeps saying that neo will surpass eth.. how come then the price hasn't even gone over $100 :/
Only a joker or someone who doesn't monitor the crypto market very well or understand the two coins can even dream of this happening. ETH will always maintain its edge ahead of NEO.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to ICO if....... on: February 23, 2019, 10:28:31 PM
I'm wondering what will happen to ICO if bitcoin goes back to 1000$ plus per one to find its bottom? Will ICO start dying off ? Cos presently ICO is already suffering from market condition and I'm wondering what ICO fate would be it bitcoin falls further ,any thoughts???
Even with Bitcoin price at $4000, the ICOs have struggled to survive in the market. That implies they will further drift apart from their values if BTC falls further to $1000.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should we be expecting a bull run? on: February 21, 2019, 11:51:02 PM
What do we expect from this sudden moon, is it a half moon or are we finally leaving the bear market?
This is the start of a bull run. We don't need a prophet to tell us this. We should hurriedly buy as much as we can to avoid missing out when the peak prices are reached.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Decentralized Exchanges on: February 16, 2019, 05:58:09 PM
There are actually quite a number of exchanges listed here, but one need to be wary of the seemingly unknown ones as they can possibly shut down anytime and even disappear with peoples funds. Some may even possibly be easily hacked by the same developers.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lesson from bear market on: February 16, 2019, 05:55:22 PM
BE PREPARED FOR THE WORST: In this bear market,I have learnt that the worst could happen,so we should always prepare for the worst. Many have lost up to 80% of their portfolio to this bear market because they are not expecting the worst to happen, unfortunately, they are caught up in it.If they had prepare for the worst, they could have done something about their portfolio at the beginning of the bear market.
DECISION BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCE MAY NEVER BE THE RIGHT ONE:It may be risky to base your decision on assumption. At the beginning of this bear market, there was a lot of assumption, many so sure that before we close our eyes and open, bull run will be here.Nobody ever expect the bear market to be this long,so, many decision made base on this assumptions as lead to frustration today.
In crypto, today you are up and tomorrow you are down.
To those caught up in it,you can only hope for the best, don’t give up.

I am pretty sure that an average cryptocurrency fan or investor always predict the possibility of a bear market. Most people have actually taken advantage of it whenever it occurs to accumulate a lot of cheap coins.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where are the investors? on: February 16, 2019, 05:53:11 PM
I see that there are many ICOs that fail because of lack of funds even though the concept is good and potential, isn't it if the project is funded and realized the project will be successful and profitable for investors?
The number of cryptocurrency investors have actually reduced. As at mid last year, we did have a lot of people still willing to invest, but the situation now is extremely very low with reduced interest.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the era change from ICO (Initial Coin Offering) to STO (Security Token O) on: February 16, 2019, 05:47:57 PM
I think we have moved into the STO era already and almost completely away from the ICO phase. There is no much enthusiasm anymore about ICOs anymore.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your destiny is in your hands on: February 16, 2019, 05:45:42 PM
Our destiny is not written on an imaginary surface and not in wind. What we are today in the crypto space is as a result of the works of our hands.
- Whenever you want to invest or promote a project, do not be in haste, but take your time to analyze it.
- If you want to sell the coin you have, do ensure you think about it many times, so that you will not later blame yourself for selling.
- Get materials to study whatever you do not know.
Nobody can make a better decision for you than yourself. So learn to do the right thing at the right time.
Whatever we aim to achieve in this life and not just in the field of cryptocurrency depends on our effort, determination and right decision at critical times because one wrong decision can set us backward for years.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Positivity is necessary in the cryptocurrency space on: February 16, 2019, 05:43:32 PM
The cryptocurrency space is faced with price volatility and most persons have been caught up with the bearish trend of the market. We never expected the bearish trend to last for this long, but we have little or nothing to do about the issue. Atimes, it feels like liquidating your portfolio and walking away from the frustration the market has left us, but that's not a good idea. One needs to be strong physically, emotionally and financially to cope with the pressure of the market. It's best to hold on for the bull run is near, let's be positive and don't fall victim of our rash decision. Don't give up yet.
Yes you are very right. Too much bad mouthing and negative discussion about cryptocurrency will just simply help to kill it the more by scaring new comers away.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid Dump after listing on: February 16, 2019, 04:33:20 PM
At the time of the listing after the end of ICO, the price often dumps. Why does it happen?
I think the reason is there is no buyer because of no demand for tokens since the ecosystem is not completed after the ICO.
It may be difficult because lack of funds, but I think the team should release a product like Dapps while running ICO to make token demand.
How do you think about it?
The people that usually cause the dump during the listing are those people who got excess tokens as bonus or free as advisors. This people usually sell the tokens at any price.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do when your coin spikes? on: February 16, 2019, 03:30:10 PM
I'm just looking for the opinions of others really, there's no right or wrong answer to this question.
What do you do when a coin you're holding suddenly jumps up by like 30% or whatever? do you try to sell at the peak of that spike and buy them back once it's gone back down again? or do you just keep on hodling?
I usually don't waste time to sell once I get information of such sudden rise in a coin I am holding. The wise thing will always be to sell and buy back again at low price.
