1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A question about AML KYC on: March 12, 2020, 03:30:40 PM

As far as I know, they often refer to their KYC/AML policy, which describes the cases when a transaction may seem suspicious.

The AMLP rules from eg. European directives and FATF guidelines use such forms without further specification "transaction showing unusual patterns", "without clear economic purpose", and often as well all of the transactions of at least $1000 each (but technically as well few transactions for $1000 in total over a short period of time count). The rules are not 100% clear but considering the guidelines spirit it simply requires companies to be suspicious towards their customers, especially if they use VPN services.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will crypto really go to zero? on: March 11, 2020, 05:54:12 PM

I'm referring to all cryptocurrencies being traded on the market today (Bitcoin and altcoins). As for Bitcoin, I doubt it'll ever go to zero because of its limited supply and widespread acceptance within the mainstream world. But altcoins can go to zero sometime in the future, if they're unable to deliver real use cases for everyday people. Most of the useless coins on the market with no active development or innovation will die, while very few will be able to retain their value on the crypto market. I believe that altcoins like Ethereum, Monero, Zcash, Dash, and even Litecoin will never go to zero as they're supported by their communities.

Couldn't agree more - the ones which are innovative and bring us development and interesting solutions will survive (but we should not regard them as investments, but tools used for some specific purposes, like staying anonymous, or providing instant international transfers of funds). Yet those which are nothing but a copycat, ripoffs will definitely not survive for a long time.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A question about AML KYC on: March 11, 2020, 05:33:22 PM

KYC/AML are a direct assault on our personal freedoms and should be abolished worldwide.

Unfortunately, it goes opposite - as time goes by, more and more elements to KYC are added. And more and more things are subject to KYC. From bank transfers, cryptocurrency exchanges. This is as well why many authorities are calling for a cashless society, so then all the transactions will be 100% traceable.

5  Other / Politics & Society / Re: POST BREXIT FUTURE FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM & THE EU on: March 10, 2020, 04:52:08 PM
The goal of the UK is to be in the European Economic Area, just like Norway right now. The question is if both the British government and EU officials are looking for this solution.

From past statements of high-rank officials, it seems as if they wanted vengeance upon the Great Britain.
6  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: March 10, 2020, 02:41:08 PM

Wcześniej blokowano nie raz hakerów i podejrzane adresy, a tu największy przekręt w historii i dają im upłynnić te skradzione BTC praktycznie bez problemu.

7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Convert or HODL? on: March 10, 2020, 11:53:51 AM
In such cases, converting or mere hodling may not be the best solution.

If panic rules on the market, many people stop thinking and as a result, BTC or another crypto may (and often does) reach the price level of underpriced. Therefore in many cases, the best choice may be simply to buy more (like all the whales do). Just remember that if you bought during the last cryptowinter (when the panic was much worse than now), Bitcoin bought then is worth more than 250% of the purchase price.

And remember that, stable coins are related to fiat currency, and countries like US and China already started next period of printing their currency out of thin air, so then the objective value of stable coin related to USD keeps going down.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should the Crypto Community Be Worried About the Oil Crash? on: March 10, 2020, 11:40:22 AM
We have a general panic in most of the markets. If we will see that this would turn into a global crisis - a serious one with drastic unemployment increase, then, of course, many individuals may be forced to sell their portfolio in order to support themselves (instead of increasing demand for cryptos). Still, if we have whales, one big transaction for 150 000 BTC has more influence on the market than 150 000 transactions for 1 BTC.

What we should be worried about are these hackers - such events are harmful to the image of the whole crypto community and are very likely to be an argument for increasing KYC, banning crypto mixers and increased control (indirect centralization) by authorities. This could end in the obligatory annual wallet ownership declaration and obligatory explanation regarding each crypto transfer to and from a particular wallet.
9  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: March 09, 2020, 04:53:03 PM

I wywraca wszystkie misterne plany, założenia i oczekiwania do góry nogami, gdzie spodziewano się jednak naśladowania złota, gdy cena ropy spada o 1/3, indeksy giełdowe typu DAX o ponad 10%...
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's break our boundaries with Bitcoin on: March 09, 2020, 03:55:49 PM
Do not forget about one major thing which will be important if the crisis will take place - banks if in bad conditions, will impose a daily limit of cash withdrawal/transaction size. This is what happened in Greece and Cyprus in the last couple of years.

With Bitcoin and other cryptos, there is no way of establishing a minimum limit, besides covering the fees of wallet and blockchain.

What about bitcointalk to become bitcoinsvtalk due to the financial reasons, as bsv pumps were just made for CSW to gather the funds big enough to buy the forum with all its users and unlock Satoshis account?  Grin Grin Grin
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Panic and Regret in Crypto (Brother and Sister) on: March 09, 2020, 03:29:13 PM
Some well known crypto experts and analysts are spreading false rumors continuously which is absolutely ridiculous way and there is no doubt that this kind of stupid attempts of those people play a major role to create panic I wish there is way to control such people so the investors and traders have a better environment to do good business in cryptocurrency industry.

If you know some of them well and check how the market behaved after their statements, it may be beneficial to check upon them. But under one condition - do opposite to what they expect.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Dow Jones Price Drop & The Corona Virus? on: March 09, 2020, 03:24:35 PM
Bitcoin under 8k usd, The Dow Jones plummeting around 1500 points, oil 20% down and the Coronavirus still untamed.. Is this the beginning of the end?

It seems that the global financial crisis is starting, but anyway we need to see Q1 reports from US, China, EU and some biggest and most influential companies about their sales, production (including housing or industrial production). But anyway, even if someone now sells in panic, they should go to another direction if not looking for the lower lows to buy back.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers in a top exchanges telegram groups on: March 09, 2020, 03:16:34 PM
(.....)
this is a reason why telegram channel is not good for communication since there are many scammers always waiting for another victim that they can fool.
Its always happen not only in exchange support but in other group also even ico or any crowdfunding group.

The better way to contact directly the support in email if you have a problem than using a telgram group for contact.

1. No one from the exchange will ever ask you for a password (they see your account in their CRM by the email you provided them with)
2. No one will ask you via any application for sending any cryptos, no one will give you any address there
3. If you have any issues - ask directly on website's chat (if available) or email them officially. Not via facebook - as often social media may be outsourced to a third party.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Panic and Regret in Crypto (Brother and Sister) on: March 09, 2020, 03:05:37 PM
The crypto world is not different than the regular financial markets and the consequences of emotional trading can affect strictly trading performance. The fear index is a good indicator of buying low with the idea of buy when everyone else sells. Greed index is also used for liquidating the position when the HYPE goes above the realistic values.
It is worth to use this index and take a look at the same time on the trading volume changes - if it goes up much above what we could see in the previous couple of days, be ready to see a shift of the trend.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's End Game on: March 09, 2020, 02:48:26 PM
Indeed nothing lasts forever but I do not think that Bitcoin will be ending anytime soon. If the beginning of government's interest to create, navigate and circulate a centralized digital currency would be the end of Bitcoin, I don't think that it is happening soon. Every nation has a different government system, capacity to fund resources and technological advancements. On the contrary, the government of some countries has been very open with cyrptocurrencies that they tolerated different establishments to engage with transactions using Bitcoin. Also, I think that even if the government would start circulating their own digital currency to compete with Bitcoin, they would still choose the latter because of its features that they were enticed with foremost as to why they engage with cryptocurrencies.

The easiest way would be to issue an official centralized stablecoin of the State, where each person could have access to it. Like with current cryptos, besides having the wallet address you will have two IDs - one for your eg. transaction title (like invoice no 324/03/09/20) and your social insurance number. Most likely, this would be a solution coming from banks, as you will be able to open these wallets only at banks as a part of a bank account. Why banks? With people abandoning bank accounts, one of the main sources of their income will slowly start to disappear. In such a case, other fees would need to increase or whole banking system may be on the edge of collapse.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is fake shit on: March 09, 2020, 02:29:03 PM
If you are looking for "guaranteed 30% month ROI rate" projects (which may not be even cryptocurrencies themselves but binary options running on cryptos) or get to the trap known as "pump and dump" (what is easy to avoid - just check the trading volume change!) then you might feel like that.

This is why before going for that particular crypto, you check it. If you want to become a daily trader, learn first. There are websites/tools where you can train for free, once you learn how to use moving averages, all the figures you can detect on charts, learn about the importance of trading volume and even a whale size transaction.
Not to mention, that as cryptos are more volatile than fiat  (but as we can see now not as much as oil!), if you do not keep yourself calmed - you might be overwhelmed with greed or panic what makes you ignore facts.

And remember that you could fell for the same traps if you traded stocks, precious metals or traded with leverage on forex.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona Virus is a Fake Flag to destroy China! on: March 09, 2020, 01:38:35 PM
The newest conspiracy theory is that it was the plan of China to crush the global economical position of West - becoming the first victim (and being pretty well prepared to it), and waiting for the biggest crisis since 1973 oil crisis to gain supreme position.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: In the end all metals get melted. on: March 09, 2020, 12:10:59 PM

They didn’t melt them to make into jewellery, but they turn it to the bullion to make into metal bars, and what are they going to do with the metal bars is out of my mind, I can’t never tell why they want to melt it at the first place.

An example might be copper coins. In many countries you still have them and to be honest - usually, their value as of the currency is lower than of metal itself. And copper can be used in a variety of industries - from cables to cooling systems. Same might go with other metals when needed.

Of course, this would apply mainly to relatively modern coins, as old ones have historical value far exceeding the value of the metal itself.

A plastic card currently copes with all these tasks, although it also needs to be attached to the terminal, but it is better than cash. However, cryptocurrencies are not yet widespread enough to offer any great alternative to cash or plastic cards.

In some countries, there are already cardless payments accepted (mobile apps). In its usage, it is not so far away from the way we could use cryptos with rapid transaction speed. Well, it would be much faster for the merchant to get money, as card payment processors usually freeze the money for 1-7 business days and keep part of the balance of merchant frozen for even months for the potential case of a chargeback.

Here with cryptos, the transfer is final, can be almost instant and does not have card provider fees. If only volatility of cryptos would be lower...
