21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STK Token - Progress Discussion on: September 29, 2018, 10:55:35 AM
At the beginning of the year, in my opinion, I participated in their airdrop and received several tokens. Unfortunately, I immediately sold them. I did not think that the company was very promising and was surprised that it was moving exactly along the roadmap. Their idea is certainly not new, but very promising for several years. Does the team deal with the project? That's what's interesting.

Their are trying to penetrate markets like the US market. I think regulation is a great barrier for companies like STACK but still this is the challenge for everyone involved in the cryptocurrency community. Right now the team has made steady steps forward but they are facing some problems that can be passed with strong collabborations.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / STK Token - Progress Discussion on: September 29, 2018, 08:24:35 AM
STACK project has released a Progress report some hours ago. The team works hard in developing a well functioned project in order to give the power of using crypto as a payment method in the point of sale, to any user who has an account and a card.

The innovation of this project is the use of State Channels that manage to "store" offline payments that will be processed later to the blockchain in its online state.

Here is a Progress update with what STK has achieved during that time:

Recent Progress:
Smart Contracts Security Audit & Smart Contracts
  • Actively working on audit fixes
Server
  • Transaction history data
Research
  • Setting up lightning node in the Amazon cloud
Design
  • No new update.

Our CEO, Miro Pavletic was invited to speak on a panel at ELEVATE, alongside Bank of Montreal, Deloitte and BTCC, discussing ‘Roadblocks in the Blockchain Industry’ from an operational perspective; everything from taxation to opening a bank account.

Read the complete report: Here

It is very encouraging to see interesting projects that face difficulties, trying to accomplish their mission and deliver a functional product to the public. Wouldn't it amazing to make payments anonymously with the use of our smartphones in just few seconds?
23  Economy / Lending / Re: 💰 Need 0.075 BTC Loan 💰 on: September 29, 2018, 07:34:59 AM
Loan amount:- 0.075 BTC
Repayment:- Can be discussed by the lender.
Time interval:- 3 days to 10 days
Collateral:- 70k Followers Instagram Account (worth $700+, details in PM)
BTC address:- 1J5Y6NiNJevgJZHQW7pUp5rvV5EikXEEgZ

LOL. Nice try. It is even more suspicious that you haven't set a Repayment amount.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think happened with Satoshi Nakamoto? on: September 29, 2018, 07:10:23 AM
My opinion is that he left the panel for a simple reason. In a decentralized system "Everyone is Satoshi" as long as he participates on that. So. you, me everyone who contribute can take the role of Satoshi in this ecosystem that works without a central authority.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: September 29, 2018, 06:28:31 AM
There are many valid points in not investing in ICOs. The best way to invest is see a promising crypto that is already listed in markets and wait for potential announcements. If it has a good concept but it is still behind in the roadmap i think i have a strong return on investment behind. For example, STACK project tries to insert crypto as a way of payment in the point of sales, which is something very innovative, but still they are back with product development and the price has fallen significantly. For me, this is a good opportunity to buy some coins and make profits after selling them when an announcement is released.
26  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ECTA: The first blockchain-based trust protocol for global employability on: September 25, 2018, 08:25:42 AM
There are many inequalities in the working environment and It may continue to be present due to the current economic system. Let's hope that with this project it will be decreased between people from different nations. It's a huge step to establish democratic values.

This basically happen in developing countries. There are many talents there that have potential to contribute with their knowledge to the society but still there is no "gate" open to join their fields
27  Bitcoin / Project Development / ECTA: The first blockchain-based trust protocol for global employability on: September 23, 2018, 09:06:04 AM
ECTA platform is the first blockchain-based trust protocol for global employability.

Open. Self-Organized. Semantic. Cross-Lingual.

Experts, earn reputation with your skills and get discovered before you even start to look for a job.
Companies, stop searching and hire talented developers with the proven AI tools.

In the ECTA ecosystem, developers receive payment in ECTA PAY tokens, and also earn non-fungible ECTA SKILLS tokens that serve as proof of their skills and a record of reputation. This blockchain protocol creates a permanent record of skills and accomplishments, which users can leverage in exploring new opportunities with increased trust from potential employers.

The team develops an AI algorithm that will learn about the needs and skills of the businesses and developers using the ECTA platform to assist in finding the best match. Thanks to ECTA PAY (fungible) tokens, unbanked developers around the world won’t struggle to collect their earnings for services provided.

The primary purpose of the ICO is to distribute ECTA PAY tokens to the masses, and so create more opportunity for users to benefit regardless of geographical presence, language, or banking status. ECTA will reduce inequality by giving the world a chance to show their talents, provide services, and create value that is recorded on the blockchain.

Bringing value to employment issues may create value to the global economy and societies around the world.

An impressive project right now is https://ecta.io/

The first blockchain-based trust protocol for global employability is here and the team tries to solve various issues that occur in the working industry such as inequalities between people that live in different places in the world, fake profiles (overvalued Resumes) and increases the efficiency in time spending.

The ICO is going to start in a few time and there are many benefits for early investors. ECTA is also introduced in various popular media such as Reuters and the ECTA team seems to do a really hard work to provide a good and functionable product.

I would really recommend that to anyone that to anyone that is searching right now to invest in a project. Have a look at their twitter account where all the action is posted https://twitter.com/Ecta_io

29  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HURTLECOIN (HRTL) SCAM connected with Maxnetlabs.com? on: September 23, 2018, 06:24:05 AM
Hello dear community.

Another incident of SCAM project is pointed here.

I believe that going through the website of this project (https://www.hurtlecoin.com/) you can truly understand that something going wrong.

What caught my attention is that only 3 guys are members of this project and by the way there is no redirection to their Social media accounts.

http://prntscr.com/k1rk9s

This 3 guys are also appeared in the website of Maxnetlabs (Maxnetlabs.com) a blockchain services provider firm, BUT with Different roles!!!!! Also the pictures of Atif Zahid and Nauman Zahid redirects to the same Facebook profile!

Mr Omer Khan, has a role of Blockchain Developer in HURTLECOIN and Marketing Director in the other.

http://prntscr.com/k1rm38

As HURTLECOIN bounty campaign is on the first pages of the bounty section we need some clarifications on this issue.

Either HURTLECOIN or MAXNETLABS is trying to SCAM people and we need to raise awareness once again.

Hi,  this is representing maxnetlabs, we are service base company and hurtlecoin UX/UI designs were developed by maxnetlabs. of course the provided screen shots led it to misconception that some how our team is involved although the provided details of the team on hurtlecoin website or whitepaper was just for the demo purpose which had to be changed as soon the hurtlecoin team members have their profiles ready for publishing.

Once again it is to make clear that there is no involvement of maxnetlabs with hurtlecoin besides that maxnetlabs have provided services only like any other company in our portfolio.

Regards,
Maxnetlabs.

This can point out that Hurtlecoin is scam for real. If maxnetlabs is not involved the information they present in their website is false and fake.

Have a look at www.Ecta.io a very innovative project that has caught much attention recently. I believe they will succeed.
31  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A new consensus that promises high levels of security (PoH) on: August 31, 2018, 06:43:08 AM
seems pretty interesting but how would you know a dishonest node over an honest node what evidence would there be, and also as a miner would you only get a reward if people choose your node?

From what I have read Dishonest and honest nodes are selected based on unanimity of users who has inserted their transactions for validation.A miner still gets reward if he is honest but still not selected. It feels like you are rewarded for keeping the system "Honest".
32  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A new consensus that promises high levels of security (PoH) on: August 29, 2018, 08:26:45 AM
But it would be unprofitable for the miners to also be dishonest because their investment in mining equipment and electricity would be wasted. Proof of Work eliminates the need for participants to be honest and dishonest. The protocol is everything.
Exactly, you got the point. This is why this consensus defines that the protocol is secure. None will ever want to be "dishonest" because of what you mentioned above.

Quote
Are you suggesting that we should trust a collective third party? I believe that is a security hole.
This collective party is the people who have their money in the chain, so there is not a security hole because if they try to manipulate a decision they will simply lose their money.

Quote
This cannot work. If a transaction or a block is invalid, it should be rejected by the nodes immediately, but what would stop them from rejecting double spends if all the network stands on is your "honesty"?

In this consensus users decide. How can you trust a node to "judge" if a transaction is invalid, or it hasn't been invalid on purpose?
Because of the feature what users decide, nodes should try to avoid validating invalid transactions due to double spending as you said before.

I believe that there is an interesting concept behind Proof of Honesty consensus and I want to see how it is actually working in such cases.
33  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A new consensus that promises high levels of security (PoH) on: August 28, 2018, 03:09:39 PM

Centralized it is, then.

It may defined as Centralized, but it will guarantee that blockchain is running smooth and with the same features as any other in the ecosystem.

Facing the problem of hard forks by simply ignoring it is... brave, I guess?

I would not agree to this point. I can see it as a democratic option and people can decide where to put their money depending on their fork preferences.

GBBs are unfortunately never explained, neither in their whitepaper, nor on their website.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I assume it's something you'd have to purchase from GeeqCorp? If so, that means: First you buy a genesis block, then you buy consensus access? Is that what it would look like if EA created a cryptocurrency?

I want to see more on GBBs as well. I don't think that you have to purchase something but maybe you have to gain access to that somehow and It could be limited to a specific number of users.
34  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A new consensus that promises high levels of security (PoH) on: August 28, 2018, 10:45:15 AM
I agree on your points. However, in PoW hasing power is concentrating to 1-2 maximum 3 mining pools so in my opinion this dosn't make them "honest" 100%. Of course, there is a possibility to do a fork if they attack the chain, but wouldn't that affect the reputation of the PoW consensus?
I have checked the link and the "POH Explainer Video" but nothing's really explained but the possible positive effects of using their newly developed "just nodes coin".
Noticeably, they allotted more time explaining the downside of POW coins like Bitcoins than explaining their system.
Just like the quoted reply.

Not to mention, Proof of Honesty is the worst name for a system that was built for security.

Is there a better resource where "Proof of Honesty" was better explained?
Please provide some links.

Here is a link that may help: https://youtu.be/m5zL2euruYQ?t=20m47s

it is also a provided example of how this can work. I know they are still in an initial stage and I want to see something "tangible" (I.e. code) in order to let us have a clear opinion about what Proof of Honesty really is.

35  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A new consensus that promises high levels of security (PoH) on: August 28, 2018, 09:13:45 AM
But how does Proof of Honesty prevent collusion in how to decide "who" is honest and dishonest? Plus, more importantly, how cheap is it to collude?

Proof of Work works because there is no need to trust one another. A miner simply provides his "power" to hash and leaves his opportunity to win a block depending on how much power he gives. Plus colluding in the network would be expensive because the miners would be risking their investment in mining equipment and electricity, making it more profitable to be honest.

As for "who decides who is honest or dishonest", the answer is "Users". People who would be affected by a wrong validation, in other words.

If discrepancies in a block validation may be noticed, then the user can inspect them and then decide with fork of data he wants to use for his transactions. I cannot though define the cost as i'm not a programmer in this project (www.Geeq.io).

I just read about it and wanted to bring it there in order to exchange opinions about the implementation of a new consensus that may be beneficial to current projects as well.
36  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / A new consensus that promises high levels of security (PoH) on: August 28, 2018, 06:33:58 AM
I was navigating through different projects and a new consensus called "Proof of Honesty" (PoH).

In simple words, in this consensus users select in which nodes their transactions will be validated, rather than PoW and PoS where nodes determine the validity of the transactions.
The idea is that users do not select the "dishonest" nodes as they let only the "honest" validators to validate the transactions, resulting to nearly 100% BFT.

Do you think that this idea may improve the security of blockchains?

I think you don't. But I'm not sure. You can try both.

39  Economy / Economics / Re: So many cryptocurrencies ! on: August 20, 2018, 06:58:12 PM
Altcoins will start to be eliminated as the time goes. The only thing that will cause is to eventually increase the BTC dominance as everyone would start exchanging them for BTC in order to save their money.
