At the time of the first block, satoshi was holding 100% of the bitcoins. Things are getting better Wink

Quote
Directly following last month’s Bitcoin 2013 conference event in San Jose, CA that brought good revenue into the state, California’s Department of Financial Institutions decided to issue a cease and desist warning to conference organizer Bitcoin Foundation for allegedly engaging in the business of money transmission without a license or proper authorization.

... Then, they fight us ...

How long before PIMCO starts buying bitcoins... Probably years, but we are definitely getting closer Smiley
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Both Bitcoin-24 and Mtgox having problems in the EU on: April 18, 2013, 06:21:03 PM
Bitcoin-Central is in a partnership with a french bank, so is not susceptible to these problems. Bitcoin.de will have a similar status soon.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: April 18, 2013, 10:10:23 AM

6  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-15 Jim Rogers: Gold Drop Partially Caused by Bitcoin Drop on: April 17, 2013, 08:09:44 AM
Interesting, first time he mentions bitcoin Smiley

Personally I don't see any correlation between the drop in btc and the drop in gold. Sure there already is rotation, and it's increasing, but it's still negligible to explain the price of gold.
And then you would have to explain the same way the drop in oil, wheat, ...

Uncorrelated stuff also happen  Grin

My money is on 50 holding (quite literally speaking).

Where do you get these charts ?
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: April 15, 2013, 09:50:39 AM
Yeah, I don't see any spreads between paper and physical. At least on eBay. So far.

its all in his mind.

FWIW, I see something. In french stores, the premium on the most liquid gold coin (20F Napoléon) was 18% on Friday.
I don't know if it's something general, I'm not used to track premiums.

But anyway, still quite impressive.

looks like lots of coins have changed hands in the last phase of the dip...

Indeed. Yesterday saw the 24h all time high for bitcoin volume on MtGox with 550k BTC, beating the previous one at 400k BTC during the bottom at 2$.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KNBoSheUBrI#!

A good introduction to bitcoin, on the biggest economic channel in France, by the biggest libertarian journalist of the network (still mainstream).
There was a second segment, interview of my favourite french "doomer" analyst, the same day available here
11  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-12 Business Insider - I tried hacking Bitcoin and I failed on: April 12, 2013, 09:30:12 PM
Really glad to read this.
Dan Kaminsky was quite vocal a few years back about bitcoin, for the reasons he explains. Having him preaching the qualities of bitcoin from a security standpoint can only give more confidence to people Smiley

16  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-11 Bloomberg - Vessenes Discusses Bitcoin Trading on: April 11, 2013, 09:39:56 PM
Peter? Thought he did very well in that interview, he was pulling no punches with the comebacks too Smiley
Is the person talking at 04:16 Peter Vessenes? Googling him doesn't show up any photo.

No, that's Michael McKee, a bloomberg "analyst". Indeed he doesn't know what he's talking about, and Peter did well answering him.
