Scammed me out of 0.3 BTC. Helped him get his genesis block working on his altcoin and then blocks me on Skype.  This guy acarterczyz did not help me get my genesis block. He know nothing about getting genesis block. All he give me is just copy paste from website. You can paste our chat log here, I am sure you did not help me at all. All you do is want free BTC. I will report you to mod for defaming me. Your genesis block WAS WORKING. I told you this in our convo. You obviously do not know anything about setting up the genesis block. And, by looking at the fact you're needing help building a windows qt, means even more that you have no idea what you're doing: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507035.msg5589940#msg5589940Right before you blocked me on Skype, your genesis block was working but you needed to fix the port in your code. You just copy paste to me some chunk of code, I tried with you a few hours, and all you can do is just ask me read this read that, and even you yourself got no ideas what went wrong. I already told you what was wrong. Read what I type. Right before you blocked me on Skype, your genesis block was working but you needed to fix the port in your code.

i think he means if you can brute force / vanity mine the original addresses of the bitcoin creator you can keep the funds inside EG the original 50btc block rewards

You'd be surprised. For example: Mistress_Magpie is a 33 year old woman living in Plymouth. She is American born. I have her phone number and a few of her photos. In December, she purchased an inflatable buttplug. If I tried hard enough, I could give you her address and birthday as well - but you get the point. |

Please no more coins. i can elaborate but is it worth it..you wont listen to anyone i'm sure and neither will anyone with their one of a kind idea
making a new coin is not a one of a kind idea there are hundreds of them and you guys don't have the first clue what the real uses of these public ledgers really are
at least let the damn markets get healthier again and the skills come back. Because at this rate all you newbs making coins are each putting a nail in the coffin of this
digital currency/comodity space as we know it and before it even takes off! fact is with all these new coins you are thinning out the value of any one coin and that means there is never going to be
any incentive for real coders to come and enter this space! i could list 100s more reasons but will you listen...will anyone stop this madness..no not yet i don't think, but WE will soon
and you would be wise to not even waste your resource and time on yet another coin!
You are correct to a certain extent. All of these new coins coming out are either copies of other coins or have a very small change to the features. They are worthless in the long run, because people will keep copying other people's work. Thus - creating a new coin with awesome features will quickly become outdated. BUT, my suggestion to coin developers is to stop making all your code open source. Stop letting people easily steal your work. Make them think for themselves and learn. Joshuar, you need to bring something new to the table (new revolutionary wallet design, new graphics, new algorithm, new security features, etc) or your coin will quickly get lost in the list of new coins being chucked at us every day. And when you create this new concept, do not share the code with anyone else. The only way to kill these new altcoins is to stop feeding them new technology that makes their coin unique. |

Centralized cryptocurrencies do exist and let me tell you WHY they succeed.
1. Joe Shmoe builds ShmoeCoin and launches it. Everyone and their second cousin starts mining the coin. Joe Shmoe can't afford good dev help or support for his miners/investors. The coin dies in a burning flaming hell.
2. Tonald Drump, a well known celebrity, creates a high quality coin he is backing with his own money. It has a good dev support and a portion of transaction fees are sent back to him. He uses these fees to pay the developers to keep the coin awesome and new technology incorporated with the coin. Everyone loves the coin, regardless if its centralized, because it is sustainable, secure, and has a support team.
Think about it. Centralized is not a bad thing. Abandoning a coin because you lack the dev support or money to fix your coin is a bad thing.

Do people not realise that the whole point of cryptocurrencies is that they are de-centralised.
That means they can't be owned. It means that if Bill Gates himself launched an alt coin it would be about as competitive as Auroracoin on fundamentals. Obviously Gates-Coin would generate some interest on hype, but would have no long term advantage.
Look at Maxcoin. You could not have got a more hyped coin, and yet it sunk only a week after launch.
Billionaire launching coin = who cares.
Egocoin.
Wrong. There would be publicity behind it - not to mention they would be able to afford good dev support to help build an awesome and long lasting coin. This should be a big deal. |
