It actually can't steel nothing if you encrypt other wallets ...
This shouldn't provide ANY comfort. Once you have a file that contains private keys, brute forcing will crack some of the wallets. Enough of them to make it a viable exercise. Also, some unsuspecting folks have more than wallets on the drives. Financial info, bank accounts. Passwords to other systems/sites etc... This is up to dev. You either have an awesome coin or this screams CAUTION!!! If this is legit, please prove it. Everything should scream "caution" to people in crypto... |

Upgraded to 31, turned denom to 2 rounds (from 1), worked without issue. Took about 10 mins before the full wallet switched to anonymized. Haven't tried sending yet.

told you guys not to hype rc4 so much as if the price was definitely going to rise. open source is all that matters with dark to those wanting to use anon.
Who hyped RC4? We didn't even know when it was going to launch. Evan ninjaed us again. For the past month when ever the price dipped people have been saying wait until rc4, get in before rc4, rc4 then to the moon. I liked Evans ninja though. I think you can find that crap in every thread before a new update is released... They just don't do much updating... 2 or 3 and then they're abandoned by the short attention span copy pasters who have no plans of their own... True that. Its pretty laughable someone selling 40btc worth on mintpal for 0.00758. They probably think they're going to create a big panic sell but its not really happening. O its happening.... But on the plus side it bound to come back. Hopefully make a few bucks outa this  Its probably some big player. Im holding on to my 56k coins no matter what. I still see big things happen. Kind of looks like some manipulation for stacking up and building volume |

About an hour 40 minutes now... I'm sorry man... I've had transactions take an hour before as they didn't get picked up for some reason. Hopefully that's all it is. Yeah, I'm not a fan of today. Soo thumbs down... Would being over 7000DRK make a difference for a TX not being picked up by a block? Did you send from un-anonymized funds? I don't think the amount really makes a difference. I have darksend turned off and selected from any available. Well damn. So it's definitely not an issue with darksend. It would be like sending any other standard coin, not sure why it would be held up for so long and not appear on the chain. Sin242 might be right, you might have memory issues. Do you get any BSODs ? I had memory issues in my last desktop build and I would be working in photoshop and would get random restarts and BSODs with seemingly random errors. I ran a memory test and found out 1 of my sticks was bad. Causes all sorts of strange issues, and varying types of BSODs. Aside from these fuckups, the machine is rock solid. No BSODs, it's not Winblows... I'm having no problems with anything else. Uptime is several days... Hmm ok, usually if you have memory issues you'll notice it from time to time. So if all is good, I'm not sure. If it weren't happening to me, I wouldn't believe it. It's very possible that linux is more resiliant than windows for small memory errors. I don't use it extensively enough to say for sure but i do know that windows will topple if the wind blows funny. If it's possible (and if you haven't done so already) i would migrate to a temp system. If that's not possible i'd suggest firing up memtest. Mr. Occam and all that. |

Most commonly bad ram in the system but i've seen (this is very, very rare) cpu cache go bad as well. It could even be bad HD cache (of the drive where the original was obviously) but it sounds like a memory issue somewhere along the line. |

However, as someone that's read pretty much every page of this thread and is heavily invested in DRK, I do worry that all of us who are so excited and committed to Darkcoin are a bit over zealous in denouncing anyone that challenges us. I'd like to see more accurate rebuttals of someone's bearish views on DRK, and some level of grace demonstrated when it's apparent they're here simply to muddy the water. Now we all know when you get someone who's so lacking in awareness of how governments work (i.e. that the public's perception of governments' power is as much about governments' maintenance of a smoke screen and the broad acquiescence of a public more interested in bread and circuses than standing up for their freedom) it's very hard within the limits of typing text in these response boxes to articulate why their "but the government won't allow it" statements are so naive. But I think it would be better to try and correct misunderstandings rather than engagement in a "you're obviously a completely fuckwit" responses. I think some of the notions people we're labelling as "trolls" bring to this discussion need to be discussed. For instance, it is possible that some sort of repeat of the 9/11 terrorist attack will happen and Darkcoin could get inexorably mixed up in the ensuing investigation and held up as a key funding facilitation mechanism the terrorists used. Do you think Darkcoin would be safe then? I expect the public backlash and draconian pursuing of everyone and anyone involved in Darkcoin would make the MacCarthyism communist witch hunts of the 1950s look tame by comparison. This is just one of the risks Darkcoin could be subject to. We need to take some of the notions people that come to this thread with and discuss them or we're all just on a continual "DRK DRK DRK. Give us a D, give us a K...." cheer leader session which ultimately isn't healthy. Above all, let ensure we discuss all aspects right to the outer edges of the envelope so we all have the best chance of making this THE enduring crypto-currency of all time. The problem is the BCT is full of trolls, idiots, morons, scammers and asshats. Someone with a real interest or concern in any coin is going to get buried here. Etherium is basically just NXT with some homebrew scipting language built in that makes it easy to create apps that both the developer and the user have to go on paying to use, endlessly. Thats one way to look at it. Another way is that it could just blow everything to kingdom come because it completely liberates the transport layer from the functional layer. DRK has done that to some extent with its masternode approach, but crypto is in its infancy. Everything thats gone up till now could just be little experiments for what ultimately goes mainstream. Antennae need to be perked. I bought some. I may buy more. Speculation is, after all, pure speculation. I think the big buy-ins are over now, even though the sale goes on for another month (at an increasing price) i don't think you'll see the invested btc go beyond 15k |

As I've brought it up and this seems to be a common misunderstanding: The world wide web aka "the web" (meaning actual web sites) does not equal "the internet" but is actually a service built on top of the internet which is merely a medium rather than something that you can interact with. Any cryptocurrency is not built on top of "the web" but on top of the internet. So it actually co-exists independently from the web and thus you can't reveal your identity on "the web" via any kind of coin. This might seem like splitting hairs but I really can't help it right now. I find it frustrating that even people here know so little about the beauty of a system like the internet. Yes, I'm a geek.  Yer talkin' about that fancy intergoogle thing thur, right? |
