21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum price get to 4,000 in 2022 on: August 23, 2022, 12:00:25 AM
Before 2023? I don't think so. We are in the bottom of the bear market imho and it takes some time to climb from here. Eventually we do and i am not saying now wouldn't be good time to invest because it probably is. We would just have to wait more and price could technically drop a bit. But i whole heartedly believe that eventually we are going way over ath again.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How should i diversify my crypto portfolio? on: August 21, 2022, 10:29:04 PM
How should i diversify my crypto portfolio?

I feel like im gambling by going all in one crypto like ETH and the drops are hitting me very hard with its high volatility compared to BTC

Sounds like you answered your own question. If you want stability, invest less volatile coins. That on the other hand brings less profits as well if you don't know when to enter or when to exit. Also there's time frame. You should invest in terms of years, and not to panic for first real bear.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Formation Finance - thoughts on the project? on: August 21, 2022, 10:25:56 PM
I said in the first post that price had gone down hard. I said it could be a scam, which is why I was asking for people's thoughts.

But there could be other reasons why the price had gone down - the bear market is a factor, and in the discord someone said that single sided staking at 70% APR caused selling but that's been ended. Is that the reason? I don't know, I'm hoping smarter people will weigh in.

I'm thinking about it like this - there's a 90% chance that this could go to zero (scam, no product fit, product doesn't work). If that happens I've lost $100. There's a 10% chance that this could go to $0.01 - if that happens I've made $3100. I think it's a good investment.

Honestly, speaking from having experience of trading cryptos since 2014, price dropping has ton of reasons other then pure scam. You can spot scams usually from lack of transparency and blaming anyone but people themselves. Some times obviously community reacts by selling it to the ground but if you can't see any good reason for it to be scam, it could be either the fact people are slowly accumulating, no one wants to shill a project that they don't have pockets full. Or the fact is that thay project isn't needed, which is the major reason. Normal people just don't see that because they can't read the code or compare it to competition.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokenized Securities and the Liechtenstein Cryptoassets Exchange (LCX) on: August 21, 2022, 10:16:35 PM
I've looked into dusk however I dont agree with the idea that tokenization doesnt solve anything, it immediately adds an immense amount of value in comparison to a regular security. Dusk is also pretty far behind competitors in the space in relation to tokenized securities exchanges, and I believe the major increase in value will be directed towards firms which are regulated to do tokenized securities offerings rather than providing an exchange to trade them. Current exchanges would be able to adapt to this relatively easily once regulations are clear, however being able to initially offer these securities will be a completely different ball park. THAT is where the value will enter the market.

Ok, i on the other hand think that manual issuing and trading with synthetics isn't anything new or revolutionary and the fact so many had to stop it. When on the other hand Dusk is planning it for actual stocks and securities with privacy on layer 1. But you do you. Good luck.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of privacy coin is not looking good on: August 18, 2022, 01:30:13 PM
I have few privacy coins in my wallet and the future regulation and the hatred from government on privacy coin making me feel like I've made the wrong choice, what do you think? Is this something to worry about? Or not

Funny enough people don't seem to realize that if they can come for privacy coins, they can come for every coin out there. All they need is an excuse for not being regulatory friendly enough. And their main concern in this isn't privacy, confidential transactions can be build to be regulatory friendly too, currently they aren't build for that though.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokenized Securities and the Liechtenstein Cryptoassets Exchange (LCX) on: August 18, 2022, 01:23:33 PM
I'd love your opinions on this narrative, and any other altcoins/firms other than below looking to push this forward in a big way. I know Goldman have noted they are looking into this, other than that my research hasn't gotten me further.

Tokenization itself isn't really anything new or solve any problems with securities. You might want to check Dusk Network and their plans about security token exchange and confidental smart contracts. Cutting edge team and tech that you don't want to overlook.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Formation Finance - thoughts on the project? on: August 18, 2022, 05:23:07 AM
If the OP wants to keep up with the project and assess its potential, he needs to follow the social media channels of this project.
In that manner, he will understand more why the price is down and if there is hope that it will go up again.
One can't understand the project if he is not familiar with the project itself.
So for the OP to understand better this project, he needs to study and do more research.
He can also get good insights from the discussion in their social media channels.

Yes, but op was asking about OUR thoughts about the project and i answered and OP already seems to be familiar about the project. And knowing about it doesn't mean you would know why the price dropped.

Also i am not sure why you were quoting me, as you weren't obvously answering to me, nor the question OP was asking about.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Formation Finance - thoughts on the project? on: August 17, 2022, 11:32:13 PM
Hi, does anyone have thoughts on https://formation.fi? The token has been dropped from an all time high of $0.40 to $0.003, but it seems to be a solid project - experienced team, external funding, doxxed team, defi platform, roadmap that's being worked on.

I don't understand why the token is so low - is the defi platform never going to make any money?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I was sure that this would be another uninteresting shitcoin but i am sucker for hidden gems, and this might actually be one. Being low as an unknown coin in this market is quite normal, and seems like they launched right when bear started so it's understandable. And could take a while until this gets confidence to rise. Even a year or so.

However i am definitely reading more about this and going to follow this post as i am interested what people have to say.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Portfolio on: August 17, 2022, 11:17:35 PM
It's okay if he won't get rich with his technique. The key here is about being consistent with his investments and the set of choices. Consistency plus having a good choice of investments are going to make him rich someday. Right now, if someone doesn't have much money to invest, it's okay. You'll get there someday that you'll be having bags of investments but don't stop investing and do it while you can right now with the little that you have.

Being consistent doesn't really help if you are choosing wrong coins. Like imho op did. If the lack of knowledge for example would be the basis he works on consistency could be a problem. Like people who are being rugged and understand it years after others did.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reef is ready to beat ADA in next quarter on: August 17, 2022, 09:41:36 AM
Reef is ready to beat ADA in next quarter

Reef Will beat ADA in next quarter and will become a popular currency to build blockchains due to its fast transaction speed, lowest transaction cost, available tools (all tools which are created for Ethereum are now available to reef@for more information you can read developer docs) reef supports solidity so it is easy for developers to build nfts and r20 tokens)

Reef has less supply comparing to Cardano and it is created to beat Ethereum but due to its available supply around 19.8 billion, we cannot compare it with Ethereum. My price prediction for reef is around $2.50 within next 6 months as developers may move to reef.

What do you mean by beating? The marketcap? Price growth? Or adoption? Because everything you are predicting is nearly impossible.

Your price prediction in 6 months would mean 56718% growth and that's just silly. It would make the marketcap to $47,500,000,000 and that's almost bnb mc. And that's 6 months?

I am not saying Reef wouldn't be a good bet. I am saying that OP is delusional. And without looking at the code i would say it's easy to have fast transaction speed or "low fees" with small activity in a chain or having them in layer 2, with unsustainable tokenomic game theory or having a centralized system.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: SaltyDragon a MMOBIG on Raptoreum & Lineage II on: August 17, 2022, 09:24:40 AM
So what have you done so far? Because looks like this is a graphic designer looking for people to build for him/her, or you are using projects like midjourney to make graphics for you and got an idea for a project. I am not judging, that's actually a good idea, i am just checking if i am on a right track.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Portfolio on: August 16, 2022, 10:56:05 PM
I appreciate your choice of coins to invest in but I suggest you have 3 main coins bitcoin, eth and bnb to add to your portfolio
This is not that much but precise and wise. I hold currently these three and it's not that we're shilling it but you should choose the top coins in the market OP.
Most of them are really known but that's not enough if you're going to invest in good projects. Be picky as you invest with that money and it's not all about quantity of the tokens you're investing but of how reputable they are.

OP is investing peanuts and would not get rich by investing that much on top mc coins even during next bullrun. Lowcaps to microcaps have more risk but they have so much more room to grow then top 10marketcap coins for example.

However i don't think that coins OP chose are good ones but maybe he/she is lucky.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Price To Buy Ethereum on: August 16, 2022, 10:51:53 PM
Ethereum was dumped down to 950$ in latest Bear market and now it's trading 2x from that price. My question is , what is best price to buy ? Buy now or wait to down 600$?

What? Imho, best time was ages ago and 600 is highly unlikely. But anything you can get under 2000 is good. Also you can't time the bottom so you might be better of buying slowly during next year and dollar cost averge your price.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins for this week on: August 16, 2022, 10:48:40 PM
LTC, LINK, BNB can surge high this week. Am I taking the correct names? Your thoughts guys?

Do you have any technical or fundamental analysis about this week key points on these coins? Or are you just throwing some coins out there and hope you have guessed right?
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Africa needs a single digital currency to prosper. on: August 16, 2022, 10:43:55 PM
_cut_

To say that Africans don't have the knowledge to use such technology is very condescending. Africa & Africans have provided so much to this world in terms of technology.

You see this is how scammers operate, i never said anything related to this, yet this is obviously reply to what i wrote. I didn't generalize Africans, i am just saying that scammers hope that their prey is stupid enough not to see the scam. What you are doing here is the technique that scammers love to use and thats praising them for being smarter then others because they want to invest. I would be very surprised if this wasn't going to end up being a scam. Like literally all the failed city coins out there.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Smart Contracts Deployed per Month Decreasing on: August 15, 2022, 11:06:04 PM

3. PoS merger, maybe projects thinks that it might not look at them as Ethereum is getting more centralized.

This is a weird misconception that POW miners try to push for us. POS isn't any more centralized then with POW mining. Miners are just panicking that their rigs might be worthless after POS. POS has pretty much solid game theory behind it and it makes way more sense then trying to grow bigger and bigger pools and farms that funny enough are making current eth already centralized.

But your points on 1 and 2 are spot on.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Africa needs a single digital currency to prosper. on: August 15, 2022, 10:59:22 PM
Except digital money doesn't have necessarily anything to do with cryptos. Most of the fiat money is in digital form already and projects like these are just for scamming and making the coin issuer rich. They trust that people aren't educated enough to see the scam and target those people.
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Ever Reach $100k? on: August 15, 2022, 10:43:16 PM
Arguably, the most significant driver of Bitcoin value is its future price speculation. There have been several speculations of BTC price by top crypto influencers, while some have come to pass but it appears that the 100k price milestone appears elusive.

The $60k prediction came to pass but BTC has since lost more than 65% of its ATH price.

Do you think that BTC will ever rise to and above 100k in the near future? Wil it be before or after the next Bitcoin halving or this price would never come?

What's your opinion?

Because the price won't only go up, it's going up in waves, like it has done in the past. No one knows where the top is or if we will even see that in our lifetime. 100k is pretty much obvious to me, although i can't predict when that will happen and how much the growth is cooling down now we are talking how bit markecap is sustainable for something like btc.
39  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Best Trading Events to win some crypto? on: August 14, 2022, 08:13:42 PM
Binance frequently hosts many trading events. The latest of which was this: https://www.binance.com/en/market-activity/305a45fc48c448bd885ed4a7178fe9d4 You can earn a portion of the prizepool by completing simple tasks such as using Binance earn,P2P, etc.

If you want, you can open a Binance account so you will get notified when a contest starts.

Aren't those more like trading volume competitions? I think that op is looking for "virtual" trading where you trade with demo money and user with most profits on given time frame wins prizes. I have participated some of those ages ago. Not sure if any legitimate CEX offers those anymore.

Edit: looks like this was a hidden advertisement about such site again.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Tornado.Cash Sanctioned by the US on: August 14, 2022, 07:57:28 PM
The source code is nowhere to be found, so unless someone has a backup, Tornado.Cash's original vision to bring privacy to the ETH chain would be doomed. The ability to take down the source code easily, makes me wonder if someday governments will do the same with Bitcoin if they find it too threatening to Fiat's existence. I believe the war is just beginning, so hold on tight as this is going to be a wild ride. Just my opinion Smiley

Someone has to got the source code, i am pretty sure about that. But i doubt that Bitcoin or any other protocol threats Fiat's existence ever. They are very much created for different purposes and regulations already came for Tornado Cash. They will come for others that want to launder money as well.
