61  Economy / Economics / Re: Blockchain technology in election polls on: December 03, 2018, 09:11:34 AM
Unfortunately that is both too costly and too dangerous for governments.

Conducting elections, delegating manpower, hours of paper work security personnel and other requirements is way more costly than implementing the blockchain into the system.
The blockchain would facilitate the process, save hours and ensure transparency.

In majority of countries the governments would not be excited about implementing such a transparent technology.
But it's good that the pubic are aware of other potentials in blockchain, and how it can improve their lives.
62  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Margin trading on: December 02, 2018, 08:18:58 PM
Margin trading is a popular term in trading, forex or cryotocurrency, and there are numerous articles, videos and tutorials available for anyone willing to learn.
If you have issues with a specific area, you can bring it up for discussion, but margin trading in general does not warrant a thread.
63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: To Trade on Bitmex or Not to Trade on Bitmex That is the Question on: December 02, 2018, 08:14:15 PM
You seem to be discussing trading in general and nothing directly perculiar to Bitmex exchange.
Day trading is a gamble, but you can bank in your analysis to know where the dice would land, it's risk makes it unpredictable, and there is no certainty to where it would actually land, nor can there be.
Lesser risks, manageable investments, controlled trading are some keys to succeed.
64  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Buy the dip" is only a strategy for losers on: December 02, 2018, 08:00:38 PM
There has been a lot of price bubbling during the past years, and each time, people always FOMOed in and bought into the hype. Quite obviously the hype of 2017, was the largest till date, but your idea that there are no more willing investors (or fools as you call them) to come into this space is false.

Only a tiny fraction on the world own Bitcoin now, adoption based on the product is the most valid form of hype, and not price bait.
When Bitcoin becomes a daily payment option, the price is bound to consolidate, this might not necessarily mean an instant pump, but as it's value and demand increases, it's price would.
It could be a couple of years for that to happen
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream media more and more into bitcoin-- on: December 01, 2018, 03:35:58 PM
From it's onset ten years ago, governments using various tools have tried numerously to dissuade the public from getting involved in Bitcoin.
It has been called a bubble, a tool for scammers and terrorism, and lots of other names.

Having survived this long, it's encouraging that some of this nations have become very friendly to Bitcoin. And not all media houses publishes bad reports about it.

There are so many upcoming news, 2018 might yet finish on a high.
66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understand the signature before wearing it on: December 01, 2018, 08:01:32 AM
This probably because many are new users who enter the forum and instead of waiting to acquire 1 merit to rank up to jr. member and wear signature one user may tend up to buy the copper membership program. This maybe because of some advises and feed back from other users about wearing copper membership program. Definitely true, because the copper membership program is somehow a shortcut to wear signatures without getting even 1 merit. But, it is up to bounty managers now if they will allowed newbie copper members to join and wear signatures.

There are many uses of copper membership besides allowing a user to wear signatures.
It can also be acquired who want to promotes their projects by making ANN threads, and have a timeline. Instead of waiting to get merits and also required activity thymey can bug copper membership and get right to work.
And dues o decrease in jr members who make you a bulk order bounty participants, most campaigns now accepts copper members.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money Laundering started with banks not bitcoins. on: November 30, 2018, 07:29:19 AM
Money laundering, underhanded and shady deals have all been very common even before the advent of bitcoin ten years ago. So, there is no way it could have started with Bitcoin or become easier with bitcoin.

This are the common misconceptions people have about Bitcoin and it's utility.

Transactions made in the blockchain are immutable and transparent, so it's very easy to trace the movement of assets to it's final destination. With the banks you'd need, approval and the documents could be distorted or redacted.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Economy Minister: Bitcoin Deflated like a 'Soap Bubble' on: November 30, 2018, 07:25:19 AM
Governments have become known for oraismg the qualities and potential in the blockchain technology while pulling down bitcoin.
The blockchain can be manipulated and utilized in numerous ways, Bitcoin in the other hand can not be, and for years we have heard prediction of it's death whenever the price crashes.
When you consider that all fiat currencies have dropped over the last decades, Bitcoin seems to be doing great in comparison.
69  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's been a fruitful active beginning Month on: November 29, 2018, 07:48:04 PM
It's not that fruitful but it's giving profit bit by bit.  Still hoping for a bull run by the end of this year  Grin Grin

The OP was referring to his/her merit count and general growth in the forum after the first month.
The market is currently in a very bad state, I'm curious to know how you've been making profits?
Altcoins? I heard of a few which are doing good.
Am not very optimistic about a bullrun this year though
70  Other / Meta / Re: Verified Bitcointalk Profiles to stop Scammers on: November 29, 2018, 07:43:28 PM
Or do you guys thinks it's the problem of the projects and hunters themselves and Bitcointalk is just facilitating a marketplace without any interference?

It exactly is, except it isn't really a market but a community that connects cryptocurrency enthusiasts from around the world to discuss, trade and share ideas.
ICOs are responsible for their projects on this forum and some are making mandatory to complete KYC process.
The forum does not need to verify the identity of it's users.
71  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are the ico days over on: November 28, 2018, 02:50:45 AM
Sourcing for funds in this present market situation is a very audacious task, and a large percentage of ICOs fail to raise even a single dollar, and only a very minute percentage raises as much as a million dollars.

When you figure in scams and government regulations, ico investments become doubly tricky. When you do find a good project, it could make all the difference in your portfolio.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satohsi's Math ( Original Paper ) clearly stated BUYING BTC would lead to Ruin on: November 28, 2018, 02:40:05 AM
In additional to what Franky1 stated above, when you consider that it was meant to be a peer to peer network, how was it to be transferred from one peer to another after er it has been mined by one? keep in mind that the supply is limited

Today 'trading' bitcoin is flipping dice, and that is 50/50, and that's a game for retarded people.

Edit; Trading anything, is like flipping a dice. And I never knew dice games to be for retarded people.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin fail? What do you think is the most probable scenario why Bitcoin mi on: November 28, 2018, 02:32:36 AM
While I think that it's quite unlikely now for bitcoin to "fail", I personally think that what would cause bitcoin to fail completely is if a certain person finds a catastrophic bug and abuses it instead of reporting it to the devs. Probably a bug that can make people steal bitcoin from certain addresses or something along those lines.

That would be counterproductive, if/when such a flaw is discovered and made public it would create a great panic and crash the value of Bitcoin in a very short space of time.

Complete centralization is a factor that may not crash the price but would squelch my interest in the technology.
74  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted posts on: November 27, 2018, 03:34:42 PM
I have previously never had a post or thread deleted before the three today.
BPIP disagrees:

3 replies deleted by moderators
5 topics removed

I had three posts all deleted today, prior to that I have not had a reply deleted.
Are removed topics thread I've started? I never got any notification of a removed thread. Could it be thrashed threads I commented on?

If I'm not mistaken, these are the 3 deleted posts

You are correct, I consider them to not have been off topic, but the mods might take a different view, but a couple of seconds after I posted the last it got deleted, that was what spooked me, seemed too automated
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone going to dump some free Bitcoin Cash to pump the real Bitcoin <BTC>? on: November 27, 2018, 07:12:55 AM
I can not see how dumping bitcoin Cash forks could increase the value of bitcoin, contrary to popular opinion the price of bitcoin was not tanked by an alternative currency or a hash war in BCH, a lot of other factors led to the current bear situation.
- Present Mining issue
- Obvious centralization of the currency in very few hands which has left it vulnerable to manipulations
- And also all the FUD being thrown around.

Also considering when you bought your BCH, dumping now would leave you at losses, even with the 1: 1 addition of BCHABC and BCHSV
76  Other / Meta / Deleted posts on: November 27, 2018, 07:06:45 AM
Three of my replies to threads today were just deleted, I know deleted threads is not much of a big deal but it's suprising for a couple of reasons,

I have previously never had a post or thread deleted before the three today.

I do not consider the posts I made to be off topic or irrelevant to the discussion.

And the posts were deleted couple of seconds after I made them, which makes me think it could be a bug as I doubt an admin would be so quick to find, read, judge a post and delete it in a couple of seconds.
Could there be a bug in the system, did anyone else experience multiple deletion?
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all the way up on: November 26, 2018, 11:45:12 AM
Look up to the market now, all is green and well.

I don't know if this is the start or this is just another trap.

Based on a similar situation that has occurred this year, I think the market will fall again in a few days, and Bitcoin will once again create a new bottom. But I don't care anymore. if it is held for a long time, why care about the current price?

It didn't take long to happen, prices dropped about a hundred dollars and now rising again.
In comparison to the sustained stability for most of the day year the current massive movements in short spaces of time is quite disconcerting, but the reality of Bitcoin as long as it remains a speculative tool.
78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why getting merit without helful post? on: November 26, 2018, 11:41:24 AM
Really, it is not that difficult to simply create decent enough content to get 1 merit.

It s not difficult at all, and one merit should not be a Target for a member as they are liable to return to spamming after achieving that and being able to wear signatures.
It should rather be seen as a detteremt to spam the forum, bearing in mind that more restrictions could be implemented (although Theymos has expressed that he doesn't plan for n making the forum unfavourable for newbies)
79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOIN FOR ANY MATERIAL COMMODITY on: November 25, 2018, 06:12:21 AM

I guess , they are afraid of volatility.  Bitcoin swinging 10% to downside will hamper their profit. (you can say it can go up 10% too but when we start business we like to have well defined sustainability and profit model) i.e one of reason I guess.

They can make use of payment processors, which is linked to an exchange and would immediately convert bitcoins to cash. This does nothing as it doesn't increase adoption or circulation. But it provides an option for Bitcoin holders to make purchases in their cherished digital currency.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 Concerns About Bitcoin ? on: November 24, 2018, 07:53:03 AM
People are profit oriented, and the number one issue faced by most is market volatility and drop in price. And when the market falls tbis leads to panic among holders. And also holders of alternative currencies.

Possible centralization is also a potential problem.
With all the FUD flying around there's no reason highlighting problems of bitcoin.
We should be thinking positive.
