Really disappointed with South Africa, they started well but then lost their way after loosing wickets in a short period of time and they still need 36 runs to win from 16 balls and the pressure is building and if they loose one more wicket then there is no way to win the match  . Edit: Hendricks is gone at a crucial time. South African start was very good but Usman Qadir introduction change things very quickly for Pakistan and now Hendricks run out give sure win for Pakistan very good match by both teams but South African lost in two overs of Usman Qadir now they need 29 runs from 12 balls Fortune and Pretorius is on crease look like its end for them because both not good enough for doing this all at the end of match. Edit: A very entertaining end of first match South Africa was looking for 19 runs in first five balls they manage to have 13 now last ball is going by Faheem Ashraf and Pakistan won by 3 runs.  |

New Zealand might be in good form but they didn't play much test cricket in away condition and last time they went to play against Australia in Australia. They faced a whitewashed, they have a problem of getting choked when playing against Aussie. That's a only reason i gave advantage to Aussie.
For me, if it is NZ vs AUS, then both will be having equal chances. They will be playing in Lord's and both the teams won't have the home advantage. Australia is over-dependent on a few players, such as Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. On the other hand, New Zealand is a well balanced team and they are not dependent on anyone. But then, Australia have players such as Steve Smith, who can win matches in his own. NZ lacks a player of that calibre. That said, I don't want to make any predictions until the India vs England series is over. If we have Australia vs New Zealand then most chances. Australia will win because even New Zeland is better team but when they are facing mostly they play under pressure which is really bad for them. They need to do some work on better mind set specially against Australia because now they are one of best team in Cricket world and they can achieve any thing they have good leadership good team unit just need to play good against Australia for win. Seeing Australia's performance against India, I don't think Australia will be able to win a series if a series will be held between Australia and New Zealand. The New Zealand team is stable enough now. They are playing very well. So I think both teams will have equal chances to win the series. Players make a lot of mistakes on the ground. The players of the team who make fewer mistakes, they will win. Because both teams have enough talented players. We are not talking about series we are here talking about WTC final which is going to held in Lord's and New Zeland is already in and second team is going to be decided after this series because right now three teams in hunt after first test match now Australia is hot favourit and then England and India in line for this second spot. Even in India, there were proposals to develop the existing cricket stadiums in tourist destinations such as Shillong, Chail, Darjeeling, Imphal, Port Blair.etc. But due to one reason or other, none of the proposals made much movement (perhaps with the exception of Dharamshala in HP and Krishnagiri in Wynad). In particular I would like to see a few IPL matches staged in Shillong, because it is such a beautiful city.
Why destroy the beauty and built these stadiums where the international matches will not take place because of the lack of an airport near by and the amount of hours they need to travel by road and with the heavy schedule these players have it is impossible to have matches in Dharamshala. These places are echo friendly cites and it is difficult to get permission to create these structures. It has been not a good idea to have Cricket Stadium or any other sports like this in a tourist destination because it's going to hurt natural beauty very badly which is never been good in Asia we have many big countries, and they can construct stadiums on good and suitable places which are going to help them financially because tourist destinations are giving their part as well so going to do things like this never been acceptable. |

England and India are playing best mate game, both changed their position after 1st test. Australia will watch every match of this series. Their WTC finals dreams depends on it. Australia is not touring South Africa and with that situation how can they qualify if India win the series after loosing the first game, they will automatically qualify and if England wins the series they will qualify, does Australia have a remote possibility to play the WTC finals with these circumstances, New Zealand is one team and the winner of India and England will automatically qualify as far as i understand. When you have two spinning bowling all rounders in your team then it allows you to go with 3 fast bowlers for sure because if the toss is not on your side then you need to try something to get some wickets in the first day itself and with the two pacers it is going to be hard because they can bowl 15 overs or bit more as max so mostly they have to rely on spinners which is not going to give any advantage on the day 1.
I think Siraj or Takur can be included in the second test who bowled in similar conditions for a very long time, especially Takur.
Shahbaz Nadeem will be dropped for the second test match and now the question comes to who will replace him. If India want to go with 3 pacers, then they may include Shardul Thakur. In that case, the curator needs to make sure that the pitch gives some support for the pacers as well (I am not sure whether there is enough time remaining to do that). Bumrah/Ishant/Shardul can be the pacers, and Sundar/Ashwin can perform the spin bowing duty. On the other hand, if they want to go with 2 pacer/3 spinner setup like they had in the first test, then a logical solution would be to replace Nadeem with Kuldeep Yadav. That will give more variety in the spin bowling attack, with the inclusion of wrist spinner. The pitch supported spinners a lot during the first test, and the English spinners (especially Bess and Leach made the most use out of it). But the Indian spinners were disappointing, with the exception of Ravichandran Ashwin. Right now Indian facing some tricky time because England is here with good homework after winning 3 tests in a row to give them good confidence, so they are enjoying this all on the other hand after winning series in Australia India was also good but at home they are facing pressure which is effecting on their performance. I am also feeling Kuldeep Yadav could be much better than Shahbaz Nadeem as he is wrist spinner but this all need some good support from management also. |

There are still plenty of games to catch up. Just hope that Liverpool doesn't drop too many points in the remaining games and wish for the best  Man United is still above them. Currently, Manchester City is in great form they can beat Tottenham at home now after beating Liverpool they are really in command of having a good lead for the title race, because right now they are clearly 5 points ahead of Manchester United with 1 match in hand. Not going to be easy for England. Among their spinners, only Dom Bess picked up wickets in the first innings. Both Jack Lech and Joe Root went for plenty of Runs. Joe Root just bowled two overs, the first over he just gave away a run but his next over the batsman attacked him and he is not even a regular bowler. Dom Bess is the trump card and leach is getting purchase from the wicket and India needs to play exceptionally well to draw the match and i am going with England to win the match as the pitch will not help for defensive batting. But the only difference here is that the Indian batsmen are in very good form, and their morale is quite high after the series in Australia.
If the top order can stay in the crease till the afternoon session then the middle order could do the rest as witnessed in the Australian series but it is a big hurdle and it is difficult to replicate the same magic twice. Last day, home team hunting for big chase first session surely going to be very crucial for both because if England is going to take few wickets then surely they are going for some attacking tactics otherwise India is not bad at all for chasing big scores. They have very good history of chasing but now all about how is first session going tomorrow, As we check today in Pakistan vs South Africa first session few wickets and Pakistan is good command. |
