Just remember, if you are advertising your site or services, put your ad in Personal Threads or Betting picks. Advertising is allowed, as long as it's in the right category.

@OP you did good for a newbie on seeing through the lies and founding out the truth, I barely see a newbie who will escape such deceit where an impersonation of a trusted member is used. Remember that if any member tries to talk to you in TG or in any other messaging service you must get the hint that something dirty will go on especially if it is a newbie trying to transact to you. I am a little disappointed how this forum does not ban people like him. The only thing he receives is bad trust rating. It's not practical for the forum administrators and moderators to pursue scams. There are too many gray areas, evidence is often difficult to verify, and the process is time-consuming. There's also the fear that staff might suffer a conflict of interest if they are expected to moderate scams. The best solution is the leave it to the community. Practicality is not the issue here on why scams are not moderated here in the forum. Basically it's part of forum's way of practicing free speech just like how our trust system is unmoderated as well and they leave the DT members to decide on matters such as this where a member tries to scam another member. Basically what this do is make the admins and mods as neutral as possible here in the forum and let most cases like this be settled by themselves or with the intervention of DT Members. I am a newbie in bitcointalk but I own a forum myself(for betting) and I am not new to internet payments. I saw in the escrow thread that the user who does the escrow asks for payments only to 1 bitcoin address and if it's another - then its an impostor. I think this user was trying actually to fish me for more than 200$, he may have even went for this trade green and then scam me for bigger transfer. As for the first 2 trades of this user, from what I understand he sent first because they were trusted users. Thank you for the advices! |

I just noticed that skrill now has option to send bank transfers to another country. I calculated that sending 500$ with transferwise the recipient gets 442.21 euro.
With skrill it is 450.73 euro.
I am excited and I know someone will cool me down probably, but is skrill money transfer cheaper than Transfer Wise now?

I just see words "do not [...] Telegram" and I wholeheartedly agree. It sounds like a scammer's dream - full of greedy gullible kids, makes it easy to pretend to be someone else, and chat history can be wiped out on both ends by one party. Seems more suitable for sexting than business.
I'm seriously considering closing my account on that shit-show of a platform. I want to be able to help newbies, but I am afraid that makes it easy for a scammer to convince a newbie that they are dealing with me when they are not. He basically saw that I am a newbie in bitcoin trading and wanted to scam me. I wanted to trade 200$ paypal for bitcoin and he told me to write him in telegram. I joined telegram as I have never used it before and we agreed to use escrow service provided from user OgNasty. Then Herbert_kopf added "OgNasty" to telegram which was a fake user. I knew he is trying to scam me but I continued just to prove it. He tried to trick me that he is going to send btc to the escrower but he posted different btc address than the one of the escrower. IMO, there is no need of any betting forum or discussion hub.
As now a days not many gamblers discuss before they place a bet in order to win some bucks.
Moreover most popular and trusted gambling sites are providing their own forums, where users discuss their before naking a bet on the site.
Nevertheless we also have the amazing Gambling and Gambling discussion section in bitcointalk.org forum where gamblers can hang out and can gather information.
So I see that there is no need for a new forum, and like me many people will also not shoe any kind of interest to it.
This is why probably OP being tag with red trust in his trust ratings due to the fact that there is something shady on his/her introduction regarding with betting forum and selling some products also to which it could not be ideal here in the forum. There are many users here had been doing it and most of them scamming other users by selling products and in the end it will come out that after you pay the user with money they will just runaway with your money. Besides, I agree also that most of the gambling sites now had their own forum discussions with different users in their prediction so probably there is no need for another forum for betting discussions. You are probably joking. I never did any trade in bitcointalk. The forum itself is not selling anything. It is one of the betting forums with least ads on it. Anyway as you have guessed, I work alone on this forum and with small budget. Don't expect a lot of posters. But the numbers are growing steadily, although slowly. By the way, advertising of your own betting site on betting forum is also allowed if in appropriate subforum - like Personal Threads. Just as bitcointalk allowed me to post here, I also allow people to advertise their stuff. |

Like what other members said, I also noticed that the members of Betting Forum are quite inactive. The population there is currently 11,000+ and yet only have few discussions. Nonetheless, everything is good including the theme, interface of the website and especially on how things are categorized — the forum looks neat.
Maybe I'll join that forum in the near future, as soon as it gets more active.
its an old forum, thats why there are 11k + registered users the problem is that there are no new members enough to keep it alive, or , rather as active as others there must be locomotives in a form of enthusiasts who are posting quality content and people who read it will come as I said, you may want to incentivize people and run a promotion to get fresh blood to your forum the engine and the forum itself looks great, the niche is good- betting and gambling will be forever popular just think of the ways to get readers and not to get bankrupt in the process You are right, it is a trend not only with this gambling forum. Others are also slowing down(not bitcointalk though). I am looking into ways to make it more active. I think a lot of people that have websites can also use it to their advantage as moderate advertising is allowed. As long as its in topic and needed. |

I can see that it's pretty young for now, though. I'm also wondering whether it has relation to cryptocurrencies. Will they be discussed in relation to casinos, for example? Since 2008. you do need to incentivise people to post the times of enthusiasts who create content because they have nothing better to do are gone there will be some, of course, but not as many as you would like and I'm sure you have noticed it already think of a business model that won't make you go bankrupt but attract quality posters at the same time: pay per post, signatures, % from sales, ads etc. etc. How do bitcointalk make people to post for example? Because it seems they do not pay. They have so much topics, even more than some of the biggest betting forums only in the gambling section. |

You can promote a betting tipster website at Beting picks or Personal Threads. Golden Contender updates his thread regulary and he has gotten a lot of views. The forum gets traffic, it's just hard to make people to post. The layout of the site is also modern, I update it regulary. Thanks for the Review! |
