PM sent about reviewing TiPS (aka Fedoracoin).  Innovative mixing feature sets this coin apart from the other clones.  Mentioned your twitter on the thread also, so hopefully you pick up some followers.

The only people offering opinions are NXT holders, or people expecting a NEM distribution.  Most of the people commenting have a NEM banner in their signature lol.  Would like to read some impartial, unbiased feedback on NEM.

Here's a rough draft for the news site. What do you guys think?

TiPS (aka Fedoracoin)
From meme coin to dream coin

Whether you’re lover or hater of fedoras, this is definitely a coin worth paying attention to. Over the recent weeks it has progressed from a mediocre 4chan joke coin to one of the most exciting cryptocurrencies we’ve come across. It has all the hallmarks of a coin that’s about to take off, and here’s why:

-TiPS just launched a world-first for ANY coin, an anonymizing/mixing option, from the wallet

Rather than just be a copycat cut and paste job, the TiPS developers are really trying to innovate. The in-wallet mixing feature has been quested after by several other coins in the past, but no one has been able to deliver. Stablecoin and Zerocoin simply weren’t able to achieve the results they promised. What Invisibel (creator) has done with TiPS is to fully implement a feature into this coin that has been elusive and desired by the community for some time. Impressive.

-A professional, fully functional payment processor is nearing completion

The guys over at “w/ fedoracoin” have been releasing some sleek screenshots of their payment processor and it’s looking very pretty. They recently released a demo of their web-app which can easily be integrated by any site to receive TiPS as payment. This gets TiPS past one of the biggest hurdles for the mass adoption of any coin, which is a way to spend and use it. With over 100 developers already signed up to use the processor, you’ll be seeing a “Pay w/ Fedoracoin” around the web in no time.

-There’s a huge amount of energy and excitement around marketing and rebranding to TiPS.

It’s no secret that fedoras are off-putting to more than few, and this fact is not lost on the community behind this creative coin. While the mere mention/sight of that certain hat may cause many to skim over the coin, it doesn’t change what this coin is all about. Tipping. The hopes and dreams behind this coin are for it to be given freely all over the internet (and hopefully one day in coffeeshops/restaurants) in appreciation of content. It promotes a spirit of generosity. Anytime you come across a post, or image, or status, or video, or artwork, or comment that strikes your fancy, it is the hope of this community that you’ll send a TiP to the poster. Thus, the new brand of the coin, the name they want everyone to remember, is TiPS. There’s even been ideas tossed such as getting TiPS working everywhere, from Imgur to Youtube. So, hopefully one day soon you’ll be to watch someone’s video, then send a few coins their way with just a click if you like.

-Speaking of the community it is one of the most enthusiastic and loyal ones out there

Any successful coin is obviously going need some talented and dedicated people supporting it to ensure its growth. The TiPS community seems to be unwavering in their passion for the coin and relentless in their pursuits of furthering its success. There’s a level of fervor behind it not really seen outside the Doge community, until now. Early on, the creator of the coin was threatened personally and therefore took his leave from the project. Rather than let their baby die, the community stepped in with ideas and development of all kinds to not only keep the coin alive, but resurrect it to new heights like a Phoenix from the ashes. The involvement of the community so inspired the creator that he is now back with a vengeance, threats be damned.

In addition to all of the above, TiPS has all the classic requirements of any successful coin: Kimoto Gravity Well difficulty adjustment, fair launch, no pre-mine, a hard cap on the amount of coins (unlike a few other alts), and currently it is the 2nd most profitable coin of all to mine. So, if you’re looking for the next big thing, but lost in the deluge of altcoins, you’d be hard pressed to find a legitimate, non-Pump-n-Dump coin with more promise than TiPS.

Nice !

I did one too but yours looks better.

Anyway :

First of all we have recently agreed that the name is now TiPS (a.k.a. Fedoracoin) which allow us to focus more on the Tipping aspect of TiPS.

There will be a large amount of coin in circulation (500 billion), 150 Billion at the moment and there is only 3 blocks premined.

We have successfully implemented kimoto gravity well diff algo and right now it is the 2nd most profitable coin to mine.

Fedoracoin is the first Coin to create a “mixing service” which is an innovative feature that allows people to send coins via a trusted third party, it makes untraceable the source of the coin.

Our community is growing fast, focusing on marketing , advertising and new innovations.
We are proud to have people working into marketing/advertising/designing… in their real jobs and some students into international business.
You can see the huge activity at Reddit, Bitcointalk and in our irc chanel.

https://pay.withfedoraco.in/ is a payment processor which make you able to accept Fedoracoin on your website, already more than 100 developers have signed up.

For the future we plan to focus on the payment processor and mass adoption, every kind of TiPS in real life (in a restaurant for example).

Both did a good job emphasizing the selling points of the coin.  Lets make sure people understand the coin has a wider reach than simply online and real world tipping.

Great to see invisbel back!

Haven't checked this thread in awhile. I have a few CGB's that I'm holding long-term.

Are there any exciting new developments?

Welcome back, lots going on my friend! Check us out and join in the fun over on Reddit!

Thanks.  I really like the responsiveness of the CGB team.  Something that is crucial to investor confidence.

The only concern I have with the coin is the marketing.  Does anyone have some unique marketing ideas to garner more attention to CGB?  I think it has flown under the radar for too long.

You are right, I saw the potential and right away started getting the community rallied under this document: http://www.reddit.com/r/GotCrypto/comments/1x7j2w/cgb_open_source_community_development_and/

All ideas are appreciated. Right now we are focusing on developing a user base on Reddit as a rallying point to make some real magic happen. In the last month we have multiplied the quality of the services surrounding CGB by many times. It cant all happen at once, but at current pace, prepare to be amazed, and join in!

so how many of the 1,000,000 coins have been mined? where can i see these numbers?

I usually check http://coinmarketcap.com/ but I think its broken right now. There are currently around 950K in circulation. The volatile inflation period is pretty much complete, leaving CGB ripe for investment.

Progress is definitely being made.  Increasing the Reddit membership is important, but I think getting the attention of crypto website, bloggers, and doing promotions to get the attention of the community on Facebook and Twitter are essential.

The rarity of the coin, and deflationary aspects need to be emphasized to long-term investors.

Compiling a list of ideas, and then delegating responsibility to community members who have a background in marketing, design, social media expertise etc. would be a good jumping off point imo. We can create an address for donations that could be distributed to people interesting in contributing their services.

Take advantage of the huge Facebook presence also.

Just my 2 cents.

Prices are strange. Must be some dumb bots or something. Lot of money being given away needlessly.

New to CGA. Considering investing, but want to find out some more information.

What was the price before the dump?  How many coins currently exist?

Around 14000 coins exist. Price was 0.025 earlier today. Karma is making bad people sell thier CGA at .005 because they don't deserve to be rich.

14,000 currently, but how many possible?

Has anyone agreed to write the article yet?  We need to continue marketing efforts like this to promote the coin.

somebody volunteered to write the article today I think and has a list of the important features to write about. I don't know what happened since. Probably working on it Smiley but maybe can drop us a line again to know how it's going!

Aside from Invisibel, who else is part of the TiPS team in this thread?  Who can make decisions?

995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TiPS (aka FedoraCoin) already has working anonymous transactions. Why no fuss? on: February 21, 2014, 04:04:12 PM
The problem is that fedora just sounds way too old already. Any coin over 3 weeks old is just game over. Even DOGE with all its might is slowly losing steam.

Another problem is that the name of the coin is tips which implies you can only tip using this coin in other words you can't use it for your daily purchases. I don't understand why some coins have a theme or subject. Much useless. Very coin.

The coin has only been out a couple months.  Most people want long-term profits, not pump and dump schemes where they end up being the bag holder.  The new coins hit the exchanges and are dumped for a quick profit.

TiPS is a micro-payment option, which is desperately needed in the crypto world.  Judge the coin on its features.  Don't contribute hyperbole.  I think a coin with innovative technology and solid foundation is far more important than a cool name.

There are a lot of passionate people in this thread, and we need to galvanize the TiPS community and spread the word about the coin mixing feature.

Let's stay on point.  I think Hazard has made some significant contributions to the crypto community, and should not be insulted, or have his intentions questioned.

What could be more democratic than the community voting on the direction of the coin?  I don't care if you have 250 or 250 million coins.  If this coin is simply left alone and things continue as they have, then Tips will continue to sink to the bottom.  When you bought the coin, or what you paid for it is totally irrelevant.

Patience is the last thing I would recommend.  Have you noticed how Darkcoin has been doing?  They are the primary competition.

Pick a name, logo, and patch things up with people like Fayens that were making huge contributions to the coin.  He had some talent, and several other people with marketing background seem to have good business acumen.

Nothing wrong with a vote and discussion.  What I mean is the "leave name alone" wasn't a choice. not democratic.  well, about as democratic as your government is.  Pick red or blue haha..

Darkcoin is new.  This coin has already been to the moon and back, for now it's stabilized in lower outer orbit.  It can go up again, and it more than likely will.  For that my friend, you need patience. if you want instant success like Darkcoin or whatever go for another coin launch.  But I haven't even looked at this darkcoin yet but i bet it will go up...  then down...  then up, then down...  ppl are in this for profit, not because they think the store will accept darkcoins or whatever

Investors want a STABLE coin, not a just hype.   and yes marketing is very important, but it has to come with patience too.

I disagree with pretty much everything you said.  Not entirely sure why you are trying to throw daggers.  Pick red or blue?  What does that have to do with anything?

The poll had Fedora as an option, which was the equivalent of leave the coin alone.  Most people selected another name.  Expecting to hit lighting in a bottle again just because dogecoin started as a joke and went mainstream is unlikely.  TiPS makes much more sense and distances itself from religious undertones that some may find offensive.

Darkcoin may very well go up and down repeatedly.  Every coin does.  You brag about having 250 million coins, but don't know anything about the chief rival to this coin.  They have a much more effective marketing plan, which is really the only difference.

TiPS has great branding potential.  Fedoracoin doesn't have anything.  Using TiPS for micro payments and tipping people makes a lot of sense.  The profit you speak about won't come until this coin is re-branded, has been effectively marketed, a re-designed logo, and leadership from the development team.  Leaving this coin on its current path would be flushing your money down the toilet.

999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TiPS ★ Kimotos Gravity Well ★ Coin anonymizer launched! on: February 21, 2014, 12:05:27 AM
I noticed your strawpoll thing;  It said "what would you rename FedoraCoin to?"
...didn't have "leave everything the fuck alone" as an option, i'm sure lots of people including the devs and I would have chosen it.  I agree 100% with the devs on leaving the name.

BTW invisibel has disappeared for weeks at a time.  It's the reason we did the "community takeover" which made this coin what it is now... before most of you heard of FedoraCoin or TIPS, you were still playing with barbie dolls and I had already had mined 250 million Fedoras.  Keep the TiPS and all the silly acronyms I've got BTC's.   Tongue

Everyone is running around changin stuff and you don't even have a plan yet. Patience!  like I said this coin was originally as much of a joke as dogecoin, then invisibel PURCHASED the rights to it, and now everyone is trying to fuck with everything.  Seems like you guys are finally coming to a consensus anyway, that's nice

Just don't fuck up my fedoracoin bro.

As you can see this coin is now TIPS - not Fedoracoin anymore.
Look at the thread name and the official homepage.

I do believe the exchanges, pools and my wallet call this coin Fedoracoin.  Which goes great with TIPS.  If you don't get it you don't need to.  It was just a little pun.  stop thinking so hard about this lol. and sorry you missed it at 3 satoshi's for like 3 weeks  Tongue

Great work.  Has everything been patched up with the guy who designed the images/people removed as mods on reddit?

They were doing good work, and could be an integral part of moving the community forward.
