light wallet will help this project.

how to parallel the smart contact transactions?
|
|
|
from the website
Qtum blocksize is 2MB and blocktime is 128s.
the TPS should be 9-10 times of BTC.
so for Qtum, the TPS should be 50 transactions/per second.
i think this is enough for the first 2 years.
maybe add lighting network later after release ?

Thanks unvoid. BTW, I love the way the voting is organized with elasticracy. Brilliant. Yeah, would be cool to have elasticracy built in the wallet (some day) Elasticracy will be outdated as soon as mainnet launch. Original stake holders will be irrelevant. If we want to some kind voting mechanism we should take a look at NXT or other coins that tried to implement voting mechanism. these is a lot of ways to do voting after distributions. it's a good decision making mechanism.

I can not understand how people believe that releasing without any of the important features this project is building to deliver is a good idea. If we release just a lite client with only the basic functionality of transferring coins we will be losing so much momentum we have been gearing for at release. Elastic can and should be the the first project to release a working system (even if limited). The system doesn't have to be perfect with 100% functionality, but at least with some of the features to give it an edge over other non working projects. I strongly believe we should not release before we have at least a Minimum Viable Product.
We have trusted EK thus far and with good reason. HE DELIVERS! We should give him the time he needs for an MVP at minimum.
If you believe that more devs are needed and that funding will be a must for that than we can raise donations for a foundation (voluntary donations, not forced as some wish to have).
I do not see a problem with having a product that releases updates and improved usability over time, but we do need to release with a minimally working product of satisfactory stability at least.
* Another point i wanted to make is that before release we also need enough materials available for pr purposes and for people to understand what is elastic and how it works. currently the website and materials are not even close to be satisfactory in this regard. voting for a new logo is nice, but it is far from being enough when launching a product...
people will learn fast. like Bitcoin and like Ethereum.

i'm 4 ''lite wallet'' option but only if we (community) can set up fundation (for developers) with min. 10.000.000 XEL (10%).
maybe first light version with only fundation donation button (you can only send XEL to fundation address)
no need do this, people have their free will. i think some people will donate for sure.

Well, I am not launching (and will never be launching) anything but if the majority wants a light client launched with just the basic coin transfer functions armed, I would offer my assistance in implementing such functionality for whoever feels empowered to get the ball rolling. Maybe a democratic vote would be the right thing here?
as an old guy in crypto, i will say yes. let's release a light client first. do not argue with me, just vote for it. i think we should try to setup a voting for this. 1 light client first 2 no need for light client, just wait for full client. can you set it up unvoid ? thank you very much.

OK, I am in on this. BTC confirm taking forever, tho. BTC mempool collapsed this weekend, more than 140000 unconfirmed transactions. that means byteball have some chance.

Dev updates: Changes made through this week to the core wallet: (6th of May)
Bugs fixed:
* [Misc] Fixed a bug where Qtum would fail in some cases on OSX * [RPC] Fixed a potential upstream bug where decodescript would sometimes cause a segfault and crash * [Consensus/EVM] Fixed a bug where some EVM fields in the block header were not fully validated
Work completed:
* [Testing/RPC] Added automated tests for contract related RPC calls * [Wallet/PoS] Added automatic PoS staking support * [Wallet/PoS] Added "reserve balance" support, to opt-out a set amount of coins from being staked * [Wallet/GUI] Added staking information to the Qt GUI * [Testing/AAL] Added automated tests to verify the logic and edge cases for condensing transactions in the AAL * [Testing/Misc] Changed Python QA tests to support new block header changes * [Wallet/PoW] Added automatic PoW mining support (to be used only initially before release)
Ongoing in-progress work:
* [Consensus/EVM] Fixing a bug where a transaction could enter an out of gas state due to other gas consuming transactions in the block
Design work:
* [Consensus] Primary design work complete, initial implementation has begun. More details will be released later in a long-form article or blog post * [Consensus/PoS] Secondary design work mostly complete. More details will be released later in a long-form article or blog post
when will you release the testnet? would like to join the testnet.

just curious on the efficiency of use XEL to mine BTC, since all ASIC already have high efficiency. but maybe use XEL to build an Alpha Go. anyway, "let me say it with XEL's words: Galaxy is the limit ".
|
|
|
still one of the most innovative project in crypto world.
should already as high as LTC.
just timing.
|
|
|
timing is important, but products count more.
let's wait for mainnet release.
hopefully in 2 months.
I think any days ! I might be wrong though. most important thing is have some real usecase, what i can feel is the bubble is growing, everything is similar as 2013 earlier, people released thousands of tokens and asset on mastercoin and NXTcoin then nothing. XEL is much much better than that ERC 20 tokens (.......they are just a token. )
|
|
|
honestly speaking, this is a good project.
better than most of Ethereum ERC20 tokens.
most of Ethereum ERC20 token will worth nothing after hype end,
but lunyr is useful.
|
|
|
one good thing about this project is: besides having all EVM functions, Qtum design is compatible with Bitcoin ecosystem, which can support Segregate Witness and Lighting Network easily. UTXO is stateless, is more flexible than the account model. https://qtum.org/en/white-papersjust a little confusing on the design of TXhash code? what's this new opcode function in Qtum design?

a lot of smart people in elastic community.
that's the spirit of crypto.

I know for sure, when XEL mainnet is launched (no rush EK, take you time to make Elastic awesome) we will be at 10 million USD to start with. If it is anything less, I will just burn my XEL.
muahaha...10mil ... if EK deliver what he promised iŽll sell all my other coins and buy Elastic up to 100mil edit: @provenceday You are an NXT investor with 2 BTC? holy shit (This was almost 1/10 ) no, i went back to my hometown and missed the date of 28th of November in 2013. Oh shit. But you ve got a second chance lucky thing is i brought some NXT at the first day in https://dgex.com/.

this project remind me of the early time of NXT coin. i had the chance to invest into NXT coin ico in 2013 November. you are old in crypto. I remember when I bought BTC for 1$ and sold for 2$. Then, after some time, I took a look again and found out it's at 9$. My thought was: "What? What a bubble, no way I am gonna pay 9$ for this". i prepared 2 BTC for NXT Coin ICO nice to see you still here EK. Torchlight in Crypto.
