1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum wallet taking over .1 BTC fee, please help on: October 30, 2017, 04:17:25 AM
So I have a bit of a unique situation.

Back in 2014-2016 I had a lot of my cloud mining payouts go to a single address in my Electrum wallet. I recently loaded up my old windows xp computer, and it took some time for Electrum to load, but my 0.386 balance of BTC was there as expected.

I wanted to transfer all of it into another wallet. When I tried to do that did that, it seemed like the fee was high (I think it came to around $90). I was using an older Electrum client from 2014 (I think it was 1.9.x). So I figured since it was an older wallet, maybe the fees were off? Or maybe something could go wrong if I try to send the BTC to another wallet.

So I loaded up the latest version of Electrum on my newest Windows 10 PC, and I still had the unlock keys from my wallet. It took a very long time to load up, but eventually it did. As I went to send "Max", it would only allow me to send .25 BTC. Over .1 BTC in fees seems a bit high I thought.
Here is my wallet:

I have 395 transactions on that account Does that effect anything?
All of the transaction history is confirmed with green check marks, with the last one being from January 2016.

Also, electrum always takes a long time to load, no matter which PC. And the first few times when I restored it, it seemed like it loaded up too early, and when I hit MAX to send, the first time, it was at 0.21 BTC. This seemed odd to me, so I kept restarting it and the highest I can get now is the .25.

Thoughts and suggestions on what I can do? I assumed I would be able to send at least .38 to another wallet, but it seems that I won't be able to and i'll be stuck with .25 out of .38 BTC

2  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Trollbox.fr - Poloniex TrollBox chat alternative and live currency data on: June 29, 2017, 09:47:30 PM
Hey, I like your idea. I am going to send you a private message Smiley

Hi,

The Poloniex TrollBox was disabled a few weeks ago. Not always been the best place for good advice, but had some good laughs while reading it.
So I started to develop an alternative : https://www.trollbox.fr/

Features:
- No registration, no ads, no tracking
- Currently no moderation (that may come...)
- Emoji support
- Lightweight and fast
- Live currency data for all markets, coming from Poloniex API
- Double-clicking a currency pair opens Poloniex Exchange for that pair
- Simple and clear

Everyone is welcome to talk there, if you want to give it a try !  Keep in mind this is still a very young service so not too much traffic right now. It all depends on you Smiley

Charts coming next month.

I honestly don't know how it will differ from other online wallets, but I want to create a simple one, that is secure.
And I would rather work with people on this forum, then trying to get it developed elsewhere.
I have a decent domain name for the site. And if we use an existing open source, then I guess that would be fine, but it seems best to create our own.
I talked with some of you already, but please send me a PM or reply to this thread if interested.
4  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Turning off miners on: March 19, 2015, 04:59:20 AM
After one year of mining, I just stopped my small time mining operation Smiley In the past 4 months, I was paying so much for power, my bills were so high, and I was barely making anything. Not even close to breaking even each month. Now I just buy direct, and cloud mine. I have to keep the feeling of getting new coins each day. I think I will turn on my miners maybe for a week each month (maybe).

But I will say what a year experience it has been. From being ripped off and miners never coming that I paid for from minersource/blackarrow (prospero x-1), and from cloud mining sites shutting down after 2 months of offering service (GAW miners).

I learned, and it's been fun, and I will say we are in the infancy stage of bitcoin. And I can see how it will stay around, and not go away anytime soon.

So I will be cloud mining on trusted sites, and buying my bitcoins for the foreseeable future. And having a lesser power bill Smiley With the money I save, it's more worth it to just direct purchase bitcoins. Right now that has the most value (to me anyway).

Hello,

I am looking to create an online Bitcoin wallet. I am not a programmer, but anyone who is interested, please PM me. Also, and comments that are helpful would be appreciated it.

It will be a simple online wallet with passphrase or 2 factor authentication.

I can give more details here, but it seems like all of the currents ones are for sure open source, so I would obviously like to do the same with the one I create.

Are you looking to hire someone to do all the work? Or are you offering a partnership? If the later what would be the conditions? What would you provide and what are you looking for from the other person?

I am looking to hire someone, but in the end I would like a partnership. Having a team is better then being just by myself. I would need to ensure security, etc.  I would be offering the funding for it, and I could provide the hosting.

I can setup an online bitcoin wallet with nodejs using coinpunk

matter of fact, here is a tutorial I wrote: http://www.btcfeed.net/tutorials/how-to-install-coinpunk-on-centos-6-5/
I would like to talk to you more about this. I cannot access your site for some reason Smiley

8  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 15, 2014, 10:38:35 PM
In cgminer it says 98Gh/s - 103Gh/s. However, the slush's pool site I have now been able to over 80 Gh/s. Is it just me, or just something on the site?

For example, right now I see "78.544 Ghash/s"
I think you may assume that the figure in CGminer is correct.  The figure on Slush's site is back-calculated from results submitted (the site has no way of knowing your true hash rate).  What does CGminer say your difficulty per submitted share is?  You might want to try setting that slightly higher on the web site, e.g. if your difficulty is running at 48, try setting it to 56 and see what happens.  My own S3+ rigs are set to run at 256 minimum difficulty, which gives me better results than letting the pool set it dynamically.

Thanks for the tip. Getting better results on my 2 S3+ now I've set the difficulty to a min of 256

Thanks for the help indeed. So right now in cgminer I see it set as diff 60, and it is still getting the same average, when it should be at least 100Gh/s. My last question regarding this is how do I set the difficulty exactly? Out of all of my miners, I never had to look into changing that.

I been using the rockminer new r-box for about a week now. And on slush's pool of course. In cgminer it says 98Gh/s - 103Gh/s. However, the slush's pool site I have now been able to over 80 Gh/s. Is it just me, or just something on the site?

For example, right now I see "78.544 Ghash/s"

Am I really getting the cgminer says or what is on the site?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for everyone who PM'd me. Glad to see the responses Smiley

I am going to start a mailing list, and we will discuss how to move forward.

If anyone else is interested, PM me please.

Now is the time to create this Smiley
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Starting new Alt currency on: July 10, 2014, 01:02:03 AM
Hello,

I am starting a new alt coin. I would like to know if anyone here would like to join with me. I will fund the whole thing to get it up and running. Server costs, etc. Then we can work together on it. I can't really do it myself, and would like to really make an impact with it.

It would be great to work with some of you who already have the experience and have created one already.

PM me if at all interested.

I know we had an invalid block, but I thought something was wrong with my total as well. Like I refreshed it after being away all day, and it barely went up. It was the first time I noticed an invalid block, and I know there was only about 2 other rounds all day, but it was almost like it subtracted the invalid block amount from my balance.

I could just be seeing things.
13  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: USB mining with different brand miners simultaneously? on: March 05, 2014, 07:07:15 AM
Ok, so I have 1 Antminer (1.6 Gh/s) and 1 Asicminer 333 Mh/s.

I am using bfgminer. I have no problems getting the Antminer U1 to work. However, I can't seem to get the asicminer to recognize, let alone work with the antminer at the same time.

I am using a bat file:

bfgminer.exe -S antminer:all -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u xxx -p xxx --set-device antminer:clock=x0781

Can I add in a command to get the the block erupter to also recognize?

If not, should I run a separate version/bat just for the other one?
14  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer U1 - overclocking on default setting? on: March 04, 2014, 04:56:06 PM
I got my first Antminer U1 running. I used BFGminer, and after some tweaking, and trying cgminer, i finally got it running. I just got this one to see how it works.

My question is right now i have one Antminer running, and I set it for the default clock speed of 1.6 Gh/s.

However, the clock is running at 2.10 Gh/s (through BFGminer), even though I have it set at 0781. Anyone else experience this? I am just going to leave it like this, but was wondering why this could happen.

bat file is something like this:

“bfgminer.exe -S antminer:all –set-device=antminer:clock=x0781 -o URL:PORT -O worker:password”

I believe these are the other options:

1.6GH/s - 0781 (DEFAULT)

1.8GH/s - 0881

2.0GH/s - 0981

2.2GH/s - 0A81
15  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / USB mining with different brand miners simultaneously? on: February 23, 2014, 08:09:32 PM
If I have a USB hub, and I have 3 different miners, will they all work together? Example:

2 Block Erupter USB - 300 MH/s
1 Antminer 1.6 GH/s

Or do they all have be the same to work together?

I am a bit new, but was just wondering about this.
