101  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 03, 2014, 12:59:07 PM
Just an FYI to my comrades from UK... UPS will charge £314.15 for two S2 (£157.57 per machine)... win win

EDIT: S2 is valued at $1,255 per machine for custom purposes according to my UPS Invoice...

Thanks for the update bud, better than first expected Smiley Still a bit high but at least they are on there way and not too crazy price

I was expecting $770 per machine VAT but I will take $260 any day and probably will order more when Batch 3 becomes available...
102  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: April 03, 2014, 12:55:23 PM
to me it sounds more like beeing affraid of bitcoin and april 15.

What happens on April the 15 ?

Chaina forbids chinese banks to payout transactions that involve crypto.... It has already started.... Havent you noticed BTC price drop?
The price drop is KnC Sam dumping 1000 BTC every day on the small exchanges.
Blame that fucktard - not China.

we aint blaming noone it is just the way it is...... atm
No it isn't. The way it is, is that KnC mines about 1/4 of the network and dumps all their BTC on the exchanges every day.

no it isn't. KnC was mining 5 days ago, 10 days ago, a month ago and 3 months ago etc etc etc and the price was not dropping like this in a short period of time.. If it is easier to blame them for this be my guest I dont really care but speculations on april 15. started this mess.... Anyways date is near so wi will see.

Listen to Kano.  He's right.  KNC is the dumping whale right now.

Not to be the FUD train and hijack this, but seriously people, pop the idealistic bubble and look at the real world.

Trading activity and behavior changed significantly after Gox shut down.  Until then, multiple exchanges could easily be used for the pump/dump fraud scheme that the evidence is pointing towards Gox pulling to try and save itself.  Who knows if there were other players riding that wave.  Now people are very timid to purchase because the only thing you hear is bad news about BTC and how it is harder and more annoying to use every single week.  The Chinese exchanges see major activity mainly because they have low to no fees, meaning margin trading is huge.  I only do my trading on Chinese exchanges now because of this.

Otherwise, nobody new is buying in, so when Sam dumps on the market, the market takes it and the price continues to go down because there is no confidence in it going up.  Why should it?  These are the growing pains of a technology, where the a-hole companies like BFL, Avalon and their chip drama, KNC, etc., will all cash out in the short term, but the net result is reliable companies like Bitmain who have been consistently delivering could be in a world of shit from the gov't blowback.  After all, if BTC only brings bad press, why should gov't treat it friendly?

+1

I can't believe people are still purchasing miners form KnC even though they are competing against their customers and most probably used their funds for the preordered machines to fund their Data Centre. They are technically stealing from you...

104  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: EMPBitcoin 2TH/s Miner - Escrow Only [No Preorder] on: April 03, 2014, 12:10:23 PM

Within few weeks we will have our LA office open and pickup will be available to our clients.
Please be patient until we have a senior member reviews our product. I will be glad to take orders after everything goes well.

Thank you

I specifically asked about your Pittsburgh office.

Obvious diversion is obvious.

Translation:
- No pick-up at Pittsburgh office
- Pick-up available at the LA office

Can the senior member confirm that he has a tracking number for the delivery?

105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 03, 2014, 10:34:43 AM
It sounds more like they are affraid of bitcoin and what is gonna happen on april 15th. Lets hope they won't run out of business.

I doubt it will have a massive impact on their business...
106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 02, 2014, 06:02:47 PM
Unless you are flat rate VAT registered then you can't claim it back at all. I love taxes.

Flat is great for companies and individuals providing service. I charge my clients full 20% but I only pay the government 14% and I get to keep the 6% as profit.

Pros and Cons...

Only way you can avoid paying VAT is if you move to US and send the miner there.
107  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 02, 2014, 11:13:33 AM
ok is nice let see now the customs fees at europe

They will mark the miners at $3,899... so depending on which country you leave in EU times that by VAT and Import Tax... For UK I am assuming it will be $3,899 x 20% + $18 (UPS charge) = $798 --- I am expecting to pay around $1,500 - $1,600 for both of my orders...
108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 02, 2014, 10:53:45 AM
News on Hosting?
Finalizing the legal and VAT issues.
Price for SP10 will be 250$ for month or 600$ for 3 months - VAT on us in both cases.
We'll offer two months of free hosting for May (SP10) + August (SP30) bundle. The Bundle will be available soon.

Hosting plan sounds great... No delivery charge, no VAT, no electricity bill - this could alone could save me $2,240... 6 months hosting at $1,200... I could save $1040 in 6 months...

Is a there an initial set-up cost?
109  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 01, 2014, 10:28:40 PM
Hey, I don't doubt they have shipped the miners but I would like to track it and pay for my import tax before it is delivered to my door.

Also I am looking forward to unpacking it so I can take a day off from work.

A day off work when expecting a miner is becoming a new excuse in industry = "Ah I'm a bit poorly today". "He's expecting a miner no doubt".

[edit] Also - "He must be expecting twins", "No, quins".

Hahaha I am actually expecting twins (2xS2) :-)

Anyone got their tracking codes for their S2?
112  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: March 31, 2014, 03:41:33 PM
As it is still needs one and a half hour to enjoy the April 1st, this message is real:

we are packaging the Batch 1 of S2 and will be shipping them out tomorrow.

Great news... Looking forward to receiving my tracking code :-)
113  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo mining on: March 26, 2014, 02:51:37 PM
I think it is just a matter of time until someone will file some kind of law suit against those mining hardware manufacturers.
People are buying "new" machines, but all they get are used ones which were pre-mining for several weeks in the manufacturers mining farms.

I am not sure if you can sue them for that but you should be able to sue them for not refunding you if the product has not been dispatched and has been delayed from the original release date.

People need avoid dealing business with these guys... It seems at the moment Spondoolies-Tech does not pre-mine but they do a 24 hour burn test... Bitmain pre-mines but I think they are mining with the machines sitting in their warehouse rather than mining with the pre-ordered miners.

Anyways... In terms of investment, it is better to purchase Bitcoin and hold onto it rather than mine. If you want to support the network and do help out then do purchase a cost effective miner and use some of your earnings to pay for electricity.
114  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo mining on: March 26, 2014, 11:57:27 AM
You seriously want to solo mine instead of pool mining? Do you have some amazing mining rig or what?

I for instance solo mine with a 300 MH USB Block Erupter, because "Pool Mining" is not profitable in my case  Grin

Solo mining with 300 mh/s? That doesn't really seem like much when you compare it to the +100 gh/s ASICs.
It won't earn anything mining regular, so he uses it like a lottery.

Considering even if you were to start mining with 1 TH/s machine you just bought (May delivery) it is highly doubtful that you will get your initial investment...

Example: if you were to get a 1TH/s for $3,500 pay no electricity, and assume diff goes up by 20% per increment and price of BTC $600... You will lose $1,300 by end of 2014. Your loses can add up to $2,000 if you include electricity...

Argument is that most people are mining to support the network, that is true however the 1% of the people the likes of big farm owners with Peta hashes are in it for the profit. They adding more hashing power each day, and thus increasing the diff and by November network diff could be 100G (100,000,000,000)

Forecast for amateur miners not looking good at all, at the moment ASIC manufacturers are rolling in money as they pre-mine with the machines and delivery it to you few days / weeks / months later, big farms are benefiting from creating their custom boards and bulk buying the chips.

Just for FYI, I am not saying Bitcoin won't survive but Bitcoin mining is not sustainable anymore, it is no longer Zero sums game any more...
115  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: prediction on next diff increase? on: March 25, 2014, 01:54:32 PM
A couple sites appear to be around 15%. I was hoping it would be less and with Antminer S2's hitting the market I don';t think this will change unless people stop hashing with old miners. opinions.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

I was looking at this a couple of weeks ago and for most of the last year the average hashing rate increase has held surprisingly steady. This rate has slowed a little in the last two months but I suspect that all of the 28 nm ASIC designs will actually see things jump back up. As an example, over the last few days it's pretty clear that some significant new capacity has hit the system.

http://hashingit.com/5-the-bitcoin-runaway-mine-train

The growth rate has not been at all steady. The graph on that block post is very misleading. Here is a better one:

http://bitcoin.sipa.be/growth.png

From that graph you can see that it coincides with announcements from manufacturers...
116  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup & Review on: March 25, 2014, 11:49:45 AM
Question to the community:
For SP30 it's too late (we're too deep into the design) but for future miners, is LCD with Hashrate / Temperature / IP / other status desirable ?
If so, what data to display ?

I think LCD screen is pretty useless, it will just increase the cost of the manufacturing... Most people do not watch their miners work :-)
117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: March 24, 2014, 08:00:05 PM
This isn't strictly a preorder as its more so to do with physical capacity. Every day those miners aren't mining costs them $$$, but to have in hand hardware in significant quantity they'd have to put them in a dedicated 500KW farm - but only for a few weeks. That just doesn't make sense.

Instead they're attaching buyers to them as they roll off the production lines of confirmed, known to be working architecture and hardware. A preorder is where you give someone money, they take a gamble with it and hope the outcome is what is expected.

Dogie, is there a plan for you to receive an S2 in advance to write a review and set-up guide?
118  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: March 24, 2014, 04:53:20 PM
I really hope Bitmain goes back to selling in stock hardware for the next batch of S2s. I really don't like this pre-order bullshit.

Ordering the S2 a month before it ships puts too much risk on the buyer due to difficulty and Bitcoin price fluctuations.

What happened to only selling in stock hardware, Bitmain?

I totally agree I hate preorder.

Don't get me wrong guys, I hate to pre-order especially if I have to wait 2 - 6 months but Bitmain allowing pre-orders for less than a month before release which is better than waiting for Neptune, Mars or whatever it is called these days...

But once Batch 1 is released, I am sure someone will release their review / guide and other people will share their photos and experiences with the machine.

Also S2 will be cheaper by each batch... ( I hope  Roll Eyes )
119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: March 24, 2014, 02:08:08 PM
The first ones are due to ship at the end of this week, or next monday. I imagine we will see more details very soon as bitmain does the final assembly, testing, and shipment for all the units

Well I am hoping they will actually ship before 1st April, like by few days before :-) I just hope they will send me a t-shirt or something cos number of Bitcoins I have sent them is equal to GDP of a small country...

First Batch sold out in less than 24 hours... People started asking about Batch 2, after fews days that was sold out too... Now people are asking about Batch 3... People complain about pre-orders yet all of these companies are selling out in matter of hours or days...
120  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Kraken Passes Cryptographically Verifiable Proof of Reserves Audit on: March 24, 2014, 12:52:00 PM
This is a great news, after all this bad news about exchanges going bankrupt or getting hacked...

It will be amazing if the Bitcoin Foundation or whomever with right authority creates a small team of Independent Auditors funded by the exchanges to do regular checks. This way people can at least have little bit more faith in the system. We cannot trust the exchanges to self-regulate considering what happened at MtGox.

Exchanges can get verified quarterly and the report of the audit can be made public... Just a thought...
