2  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: August 22, 2014, 05:53:33 PM
Any economist, professor, stock trader etc... cant really say sh*t about bitcoin predictions, any negative prediction has no real basis. Positive predictions are hard to tell also, but more likely to happen as Bitcoins continue to grow!

How can you guys talk smack about Altcoins... They are great contrast to Bitcoins, I think without them Bitcoins wouldn't be as popular as it is today.

“Altcoins offer ways to gain exposure to different segments of the crypto-universe. Darkcoin is a brilliant coin that addresses a real need. As I said before, the market as a whole is set for 100x growth so there is plenty of upside.” -Max Keiser

Just because some of you guys traded in shitcoins and lost money, you have a negative view on them altcoins now. Look at what Nxt coin and ethereum are doing now. Besides being able to trade different coins is a great way of making money and investing in particular altcoins in the future. If you believe in Bitcoins and want it to progress, dont knock altcoins... Support it and be part of the ever growing community!

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ideas for promoting bitcoin to mass public on: August 22, 2014, 05:15:05 PM
A fully self-funded mockumentary entitled OBAM (Operation Bitcoin Awareness Movement).

Three dudes (white, A-A, and a Hindu) and a blonde dudette travel the countryside (eventually world) try to convince diverse prospects to accept bitcoins (and/or other cryptocurrency) for their various products and services.

Along the way they hold court with prostitutes, politicians, clergy, gang members, boys and girl scouts, old folks in homes, cops to see if they would accept bribes via bitcoins, Amish, newborn fresh from the womb,... You get the picture.

Some of the content can be scripted, some not. Viewers can send in suggestions, or may have a relative/friend that they desire to convert, needing the team to help in this effort.

The more skill sets the four have, the better the show. Think Bubbles playing Rush on guitar.

I did say self-funded, thus introducing OBAM Coin. And, the four star's character's names start with one of the letters, viz. Oliver, Betty, Ahman and Mondo.

Sounds Good... Would definitely get mass interest. Through Celebrities would be the fastest way to promote bitcoins I think tho.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bringing Bitcoin to the mainstream on: August 22, 2014, 05:02:36 PM
Great work... As more companies start to recognize it and Venture Capitalists start to invest in bitcoin startups, it will become more mainstream. The sky is the limit.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia and China vs Bitcoin on: August 18, 2014, 09:19:15 PM
I dont think it will impact bitcoin a great deal if China or Russia bans Bitcoin. The great thing about bitcoin is that banks or governments can't control it. They maybe could limit the the ease of use of it by blocking sites from there country.. but we all no theres ways to get around that. China has already tried to intimidate the bitcoin market by threats of banning it, but it hardly damaged the price. Plus its much more beneficial if they embrassed it. Bitcoin is open source and the people currency, as long as the majority want it there it will always be.

10  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin survive without the Internet? on: August 15, 2014, 08:18:23 PM
Bitcoins only exist in the cyberworld without it, there is no validation to it. So of course it cant survive without the internet. Though there will always be a way to connect to the internet and the internet will always be around as there is millions if not billions of businesses that rely on it. So I would worry about that!

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We already passed the tipping point of BTC on: August 14, 2014, 05:34:26 PM
hey folks,

in the last days i had the feeling that we already passed the tipping point of bitcoin. maybe 2014 is THE breaketrough year for bitcoin in the history books. why? because a lot of things come together in my view that we would never think of in early 2013 (thats just 1,5 years ago!) :

- hunderts of millions of VC Money
- Regulation (most more pro than contra)
- Upcoming ETFs
- Adoption from merchants and consumers (DELL, Wikipedia, Expedia etc)
- first BTC stock is launching maybe in 2014 (mining)
- conferences all over the globe
- mainstream coverage (and alot more pro than in 2013)

when i started with bitcoin in Feb. 2013 none of these things existed.

i thought the chance that bitcoin will fail would be 70-80%. now i think, its 10-20%. even if we have bugs in the code, we will survive. even if companies will fail, we will survive. its the honey badger of money  Wink

and we dont have to push Amazon to adopt BTC anymore. it will happen anyway.

iam more optimistic than ever (but maybe iam wrong  Cheesy ! )

-LiteCoinGuy-

Definitely with you on this one... This is one of the phenomenons that has the capacity to grow like, the internet, Visa, and Smartphones. Simply because its needed and necessary in todays world.

I think we will look back at this in 5-10 years time and be like "remember when btc was only $600, now its $10000. If only!

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you sometimes think Bitcoin will fail? on: June 26, 2014, 01:33:14 AM
I'd be very surprised if bitcoin failed, but if it did fail, it will not be for the op's reasons. It will solely be due to strong opposition from the international bankers and the 1% of the population who holds 99% of the money. They could easily pay off governments to ban bitcoin, or they could put millions of dollars into ads that brainwash the sheeple into staying away from bitcoin.

This would be the most logical possibility.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you sometimes think Bitcoin will fail? on: June 25, 2014, 08:21:55 PM
Bitcoin won't fail, it has already passed some of the most toughest edges. It is getting more stabilized, you are starting to see more businesses accepting bitcoin. It is going to be like a daily normal event of people living all around the world.

1. People start getting aware of bitcoin, and how it works
2. You will see a steady increase in the number of ATMs to cater to the higher demand
3. You will see businesses that formerly rejected bitcoins, start accepting them now
4. Banks would need to think, ok this bitcoin notion is getting bigger, so how can we tap into that massive market, what additional services can we offer to our business clients.
5. Who knows you could have, bitcoin insurance companies, bitcoin digital marketplaces like clickbank

Possibilities are endless.

Exactly!
