282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PIG] Piggycoin - #piggyweek is here! on: May 10, 2014, 10:47:45 AM
Piggy will be huge, undoubtedly. In a week it has released more news than the more established coins have in months. The future looks good for piggy and I wish the dreams of the dev will be reached and wish you the best of luck. Crypto folk are interested in only quick pumps and profits and aren't into waiting for future plans to happen as most are impatient and don't care about the bigger picture, all they want to do is jump on the next train. However, Piggy week has gained recognition and the attention of the crypto community and even though there is no pumps at the moment a LOT of them are keeping their eye on PIG and will jump right back on board once they see the effect the roll-out of piggy coin in the world will have.
I, for one am holding my Piggys and hope to give them to my future kids.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PIG] Piggycoin - #piggyweek is here! on: May 07, 2014, 04:23:28 PM
Everyone needs to support Piggycoin - here's why:

If you look at the mainstream media or talk to an average person about their perception of bitcoin and cryptocurrency, what do you get? Often it is:

Silk Road - crime - scandal - Mt. Gox - scammers - fraud - illicit activity - etc....

We need to change that narrative! And so altcoins like Piggycoin, with it's kid and family-friendly focus, make it a great tool for doing so. Imagine mainstream news outlets doing stories on Piggycoin and its projects, and how much better that will be than a lot of past coverage. If we can put Piggycoin on the map and cite it as an example when talking to people outside the crypto community I think it will do a lot of good for us all and help mainstream altcoins.

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Poll - 2014/05 on: May 05, 2014, 04:55:17 PM
Add Mintcoin to the list

Mintcoin is unfortunately stuck in the low satoshi digits until people move their sell orders and there's an upswing in BTC. The order depth is scary on it Shocked

Despite this it has also been the most stable coin that I have witnessed. People making money just by holding Mintcoin. Even though there has not been massive pumps on mint it keeps on gaining community and building a foundation for the coin to stand on. It has a lot of strong people behind it and its popular as the poll suggests.

I don't know who these coin revival guys are..?  Are they for real or just some other scam..

Man I just came back from analyzing the Asiacoin situation, what a mess of a scam.  Makes Jaymes look like an angel compared to that situation.  Dude tried something and failed... probably out his own money too.  Some of these other scams are getting away with hundreds of thousands of dollars...

But so many other anonymous internet jokers out there.

They seem legit guys, they have already helped a few coins out of good will. We have nothing to lose anyway in trusting them, they can only help.
Seems like we will be picked on their vote.
Question is what do we do from here?
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Piggycoin - #Piggyweek Official Announcement on: May 05, 2014, 08:17:10 AM
Piggy week hasn't even started yet and Piggycoin is already up +161.62 %
Very big potential for massive uptrend.

meanwhile,
gpucoin is leading the vote for revival at coin revolution topic with 17.3%

Cryptocoin Revival Foundation! ★ COIN REVOLUTION ★
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=576714.0

Cool.. the question is though.. what can these revival foundation guys actually do?
+1
I will ask this question as well and add to it: How is supposed to be done the revival then the coin managment is in the hands of Jaymes and it still depends on him.

I think the overall consensus is that he should step down and give ownership of the business/sites/gpucoins for a bargained price (1$) to someone with the experience and willingness to try and make this coin succeed.
How about we all send him a PM asking him to step down and get him to agree to transfer ownership when a willing candidate is found. Hopefully the Coin revival fund, I pmed the guy and he seems willing if Jaymes can transfer ownership to their fund.

290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRF] Cryptocoin Revival Foundation! ★ COIN REVOLUTION ★ VOTING STARTED! on: May 04, 2014, 07:31:48 AM
When the voting for the first coin end?
EDIT: Sorry found the answer
May 5th
What is the go with revival of GPUcoin, if it ends up winning the voting.

For the three coins that are selected (#1 gets the most focus), we will approach each respective community to find out if they're actually looking for help and find out what they need.
1. In this process coins can still drop off, if we find out that respective community is against it, the dev is still active, or if it is simply dead.
2. We will start a new thread for the coin to be able to change the main post
3. Our technical team will index technical fixes.
4. Our comms team will communicate the takeover and keep the communities alive.

I am just writing the quick history of GPUcoin so you guys can get an idea of what is happening with the community and the coin itself and try to make a decision if you plan on doing something with it.
The "CEO" name is Jaymes Reilly who has registered the business as an LLC and he raised an IPO in order to buy GPUs and sell them on https://gpucoinstore.com/ for GPUcoins. With the IPO he managed to buy 2 batches of GPUs and because he didn't take advice from the community and his team some people took advantage of the way the site figured out the GPUcoin price for the GPUs and bought GPUs at lower costs. He continuously did not take advice from a lot of people with interesting ideas and marketing background. He was also not active at all and did not reply to even his own team. After being away for 3 weeks he finally replied recently saying that he has used all the IPO money to buy GPUs and that he now holds GPUcoins with no way of selling them to buy more GPUs and has no idea on how to fix the business model and is asking for advice. Pretty much everyones opinion is that he should step down and let someone else take charge as he has proved to be incompetent to run a business plus he always complains of not having enough time.
People have suggested him giving ownership of the site and gpucoins he owns for a bargained price and let someone else to re-brand the business and try to make it succeed.
If you guys are interested in trying to revive the coin, try to contact micryon and the web dev hendr1x and of course Jaymes (hopefully you will get an answer from him)

ANNOUNCEMENT

After voting we will still have to see if the people from GPUcoin really want this takeover and cooperate with us. If not, it will logically fall of the list.

I have to say, that our foundation is about patching up deserted coins, so if there is nothing to patch up with GPUcoin, we will move on to the number 2 coin quickly anyway Smiley

The "CEO" of GPUcoin has stopped responding for a while now, not even to devs. Devs are willing to continue working on the coin if a takeover happens, a takeover has been discussed previously. So I believe that GPUcoin is suited for what you are trying to do.

a takeover is a must and this seems like a great first step.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] What altcoins will survive the next 12 months? on: April 21, 2014, 11:51:31 AM
BlackCoin, because NXT was a good idea ruined by the worst distribution in the history of crypto.
Blackcoin's distribution was terrible...it was instamined. BC had a 1-week distribution period where 99% of the money supply was instamined by the creators who paid to rent out all of the hashpower and mine all of the coins, then since they controlled almost the entire money supply they traded back and forth with themselves pumping the price and trading volume.

Mintcoin actually has the best distribution of these style coins as it was released first, and was the most profitable coin to mine while it was still mineable, has already great merchant adoption. Don't be fooled by the pump and dumps.

LOL...I think you have your facts mixed up. MintCoin was pre-mined and the dev dumped many of his coins long time ago. Please tell me how could the BlackCoin devs trade back and forth between themselves to fabricate $1,839,352 in trade volume? You and other conspiracists have to wake up and face reality....MintCoin is dead. Your trade volume on Mintpal is 13 BTC a day, the value of the coin keeps deflating, and there is nothing new or exciting on the horizon for MintCoin. MintCoin will never be widely adopted and because of that the price will eventually deflate to single digit sat. That is why MintCoin is in 27th place and BlackCoin is in 9th place.

The premine has not been dumped, a portion of it is finally getting touched for the first time to work on a few projects. There are a lot of exciting things on the horizon for Mint and I am sure for BC too. Good luck to you just stop with the bashing and FUDing.
Oh and theoretically it could be possible to manipulate the market by trading back and forth, not saying that BC has done that though.

Voted.

I keep getting this weird feeling in my gut about MINT. It's the odd one out, something strange and probably really special about it. Like it keeps building, getting stronger and stronger, but slowly, so that it doesn't set off any alarms, and then WHAM! MINT is accepted everywhere. All everyone ever talks about is MINT. Everyone's grandma and even her dog knows about MINT. MINT's price soars and stays up forever. All transactions are done using MINT. MINT reaches $0.10 USD.

Mint does have a weird feel about it, it is unlike any other coin I have witnessed. It's foundation is being strongly built while the community is very resilient and passionate. It feels like Mint can take off at any minute despite the huge sell walls.
Crindon how is the marketing campaign going? Have you reached your donation goal in order to proceed with your plans?

I think a lot of people are busy making money off of the bc train, once the profit growth becomes thinner a lot will reinvest in Mint buying through a chunk of the sell walls.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: April 16, 2014, 02:41:28 AM
@carlo, in personal I totally agree with you, I have been running my own rig voting 1 for almost 1 month, but that is my own choice, not the pool, I don't own the pool or the minners at our pool...

It's really easy for a pool operator to "decide" the vote for our minners, but it's a free market we are running, we don't and will not tell people the price to buy or sell, we like HVC technically, but you decide HVC's future wtih your vote.

Per your suggestions, I will change the default 1024 to 1 after 10 hours.
