Yup you need to work on personal identification and verification. Anyone who knows about DM's can defraud your website and investors.

Lets protect investments then worry about bells and whistles.

I do not think they need to wait to the end of the trial on this one, those crimes where held by a criminal organization no matter if it was DPR as the leader or not.

They usually contract someone out to do sales for them and give them a cut, which makes it in the interest of the contracted seller to get the highest price possible and advertise far and wide. I think we will see a bitcoin business pop up shortly and say they have been contacted by the GOV to dispose of coins.

Damn almost lol, figured they would hire a executor of some sort to dispose of the coins though. It is odd how fast this auction has cropped up though. Take real estate it is advertised for 3-6 months before they auction it.
The judge told them they could sell of this smaller 30K BTC portion (the portion not claimed by DPR) months ago.  They are only now getting around to doing it.

Had not been paying much notice to the case, but I might start now.

@ 600/coin its around 17mil, wouldn't that only help to boost the price of BTC?

I can promise you no one is going to bid anywhere near market price on these. Most investors top mark of a investment is 70% of the value after expenses. @ 600 a coin they would bid around the $420 mark.

shit at 400 a coin for 1 block of 3000 is over 1.25 mil

I talked to this guy a while back about his ideas bringing bitcoin into T.V. the idea he had about a reality t.v. series was pretty good. But to open a TV Network when so many people are cutting the cord is crazy.

Formal Request to poloniex owner by pm.
Quote
Good afternoon,
I am writing you a formal request on the behalf the the sharexcoin trust. The sharexcoin trust is a group of people who have lost coins on that exchange and are pursuing avenues to recover assets. Legal action will be taken against the owner of sharexcoin and these assets will be accounted for in the court documentation. If you have any of sharexcoin's assets I ask you please freeze them and do not dispose of them.
              Thank you for your time
                                            River - Bitcurity team.

It will be but guess what, I need to list all the people on the criminal complaint.
The way we handle this is to put all the assets in a revocable trust.
A revocable trust is when you put a asset into the care of a trustee to meet certain terms, for example.
You turn over all assets you had held by sharexcoin, on conditions these terms are met. I agree to turn over owed assets xxxx from xxxx in the agreement that, any collection of assets from xxx minus 15% + expenses will be returned to me in partial or in full. This is not limited sold siezed assets or payment of judgments at later dates. This trust can be revoked if these terms are not met by xxx amount of time. Extensions of trust can be granted by and party.

As the executor of the trust I can then execute lawsuits on behalf of the group and file criminal complaints. It does not matter where you live, you can participate.

Thats just a quick run down of how it works.

Find who? I know the lady who ran sharexcoin, someone hired me to find her. I tracked the phone number they had listed to the site and found the person. I called the phone number listed for then and talked to someone, I played it off like I was interested in buying the website for 5k. She said she would have her call me back and never did.

Now about tracking poloniex, that also is not a hard one they are a registered llc in montana. They also claim to be a MSB FinCen but I could find not record of them in the FinCen databases.

I poloniex is holding what you feel to be you coins contact me we will form a group and take action. I already have 3 people of have jumped on board with this. We can also purse sharexcoins owner as well.

They will give back to the owner the property this is not theirs. They are in the U.S. and are subject to such laws.
1100  Other / Off-topic / Re: *This is about legal activities* POS Card activations, and encoding on: June 12, 2014, 03:49:09 PM
How do gift cards get activated at the register?

The gift card stores the gift card account number on it (and some other verification information).

When the card is "activated", the register transfers this account information to the payment processor that communicates it back to the gift card issuer.  The gift card issuer then updates their own database to indicate that the account can now be used.  If someone tries to use a card that has not yet been activated, then the card issuer sees in their database that the card isn't active and sends a "rejection" message back through the payment processor.  If someone uses a card that is active, then the issuer updates their database with the new balance.

How hard is it to implement or get encoding in order to work with all POS that take visa/MC?

You would either need to start your own payment processing company and get contracts with individual merchants to process payments for them (and then write the software to interface with their POS), or you would need to get a contract with a payment processing company and have them submit the information to you so you can maintain all the card accounts. Getting such a contract would at a minimum require significant audits, and proof that your system has met all the requirements of PCI compliance.

Thank you for the great info, this is kinda what I gathered after talking to a couple of card company's they said the are able to encode them if the processors will give up the encoding information to do it.

So on my end I would need a system to accept the transmission accept the activation? So it would go something
Register -> payment processor -> my data base? with a yes or no on activation.
