1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Got 100+ Bitcoins refunded from Butterfly Labs today on: January 13, 2015, 01:08:33 AM

This who get coins now will be the fortunate ones before BFL house of cards crumbles.

Good luck to those with BTC funds stuck with BFL.

I don't believe everyone will get their refund in full.

Tidal wave is coming
Well I got my full refund I posted this to make sure others are aware that refunds are being sent out and they need to get a move on it quickly as I know they're about to be hit with several new / large lawsuits that will drain their funds. It is fair to note it may not matter how many times they get sued as they were into bitcoin when bitcoin was under $10 they likely have a massive stockpile of them at this point and can afford the legal fight.

Just because you got your refund does not mean that 100% of all BFL customers will get their refunds in FULL as they paid.

BFL operated from day 1 as a $8000 funded company that used customer funds to develop their products.

They operated on the preorder bullshit from day 1 and have not delivered to all of their customers because they have not had new suckers to preorder more of their BS products.

They are insolvent in my view.
Well considering that they spent preorder money on the development of their miners, it is extremely unlikely they will be able to repay all their customers as the money has already been spent.

I am curious to know when in 2013 the OP placed his order, as if it was late in the year then he is not doing so great in terms of ROI, however if it was before octoberish then he would have gotten more then what he paid.

Although thinking about it a little bit, it is possible that BFL was mining on their customer equipment for long enough so that they mined enough bitcoin on each machine to pay the purchase price in bitcoin prior to shipping them out

This question was answered I didn't lose any money.

Actually BFL used to sell FPGA's that were used for science and medical applications but you're probably right about 100% not getting a refund who knows either way like i said I posted this so people knew it was worth still asking them for a refund.

My original orders with BFL date back to 2013 and I am just now getting refunded. It was a pretty terrible experience with them but I'm glad to finally get my money back.
Just wanted to show people that BFL has at the least sent me out my refund I am in no way endorsing them.

Note : I sent the coins from this address elsewhere so the in transaction is the money being sent to me in case anyone cares.
Thats really great to hear. Lets hope all the others get their coins back too.

If you stop asking you might not get one. So anyone who wants a refund should ask especially before they get sued more. (Several law firms out their are working on cases against BFL.)

Even if this was true, your 100 BTC is worth a fraction of what it was in 2013 so you're still down.

Since the money spent on orders in 2013 was refunded in USD equivalent currently on my original orders I factually got the same amount of USD value spent which happens to be worth more BTC since the price is lower now.... Think about it for a little bit and hopefully you'll understand.

Quite a substantial amount of money involved. Could you elaborate in more details how the whole thing started?
Yeah I'll post some more details later today.

A) I don't believe you. I think you are a purchased account shilling for a half-ruined concern, desperately trying to flog a dead horse.
B) I could be wrong regarding A) but even if I am, very clever of BFL to hold out refund long enough to meet price point of btc/usd from your original date of spend.
3) nice try josh, I'm still not buying.

Don't sell your accounts pee poles! This is what happens

Updated
Yes I wasn't expecting to be called a liar for sharing info I got my refund.
This should be proof enough I'm a real person.

He got a refund on the US dollar amount and not the amount of BTC he put in.

Why that guy doesn't understand is beyond me.

Can i ask, How much cash or bitcoin did u give them in the first place & did u get the equivalent back??

We got the full amount of money (original USD value) back from BFL that I put into BFL. So at the end of the day I actually got more BTC from them than I originally sent to them Smiley

Also, what were you intending on purchasing with the 100? Curious as to how those prices translate for what speed we can get today
I won't be buying more hardware as I'm in the process of selling off pieces of my company at the moment.

Wow... Refunded Sad I wish you would of had a better time with this but live and learn and you will find another place to earn bitcoins Cheesy I am looking for ways to earn bitcoins now too Cheesy Best of luck to you.

I actually own the company behind www.weminecoins.com and I had an amazing run with it the only money I almost lost was from BFL but I was still in the green anyways.

WOW! I hope you profited from it. Cheesy

Sure did!

Did the US government prosecute them and make them send out the refunds?

The FTC is still after them in court (I've also got a call directly from the FTC during the shutdown regarding BFL) past that I don't have much to say on the matter.

Congrats for the refund

Are you sending MOBS to their office ?

No MOBS required.

How bfl return back your money? They not scammer?

Did I get my money back? : Yes
How? : Anything thing I say past simply asking would be speculation and a dangerous slope to go down.
Are they a scam? : What you should be asking is will I ever give them money again to which the answer is no.

Thats great. Was it the result of the legal action ?

No I did not have to go to court though I'm willing to publicly say now that we were talking to lawyers about a possible case.

I'll offer you 0.02BTC for www.litecoin.tips

For reference the highest offer I've gotten for that specific domain is $2000

That's an impressive offer, but you're still not satisfied with $2000?

In talks about it. Not willing to let go of one like that unless they plan to use the site for something worth while.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: True distribution: limit hashing power to (for example) 1TH/s per IP address on: October 08, 2014, 05:15:12 PM
Just so everyone here knows. Limiting it to any hashrate per IP address is pointless. Large operations will just buy a rage of them just like data centers do. This wouldn't solve much but  have you read about Tree Chains? http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltb104-tree-chains-with-peter-todd/
17  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Small mining co-op Opportunity on: September 17, 2014, 01:37:24 AM
Where would this be located?

Is it data center space with adequare cooling and such?

Location Sioux Falls, SD. And there is no temperature control but since we'll be using a couple hundred SQF in a 10k+ warehouse (like most mining locations they are not traditional datacenters just converted warehouse space) keep in mind how much hashing power can fit in even 100 SQF so there is no need to worry about heat unless I was planning on using all the space and I'm not looking to make that big of an offering at this time so it'll keep cool just fine. Another question I got through email is security since the location also holds a contract with the DOD they are very secure.

Remaining 3 price is $1300 - will use escrow. Shipping cost on buyer.
19  Economy / Long-term offers / Small mining co-op Opportunity on: September 16, 2014, 03:34:09 AM
I have a location available to me and access to electricity rates as low as $0.029 per kWh (with the possibility to go lower). It does not have the electrical built out yet and though I have the funds to do that myself I'm checking to see if anyone else want's to go in on this venture with me.

Cost to build out the electrical is 25k.
Details on electrical build out 2 x 200 amp panels.
Space available to us 1 - 10,000 SQF. (We will likely not use that much space before I offer this as a public service)
Ability to have more than 1000+ amps installed at the location.
I'm paying for location costs 100% myself.

What someone who gets in at this stage would get?
When I offer this as a space for colocation you will only pay the at cost of electricity to put your machines there forever (some restrictions would apply to this)
Equity (how much is to be determined based on the interest in this offering.)

I'm looking for 5 people each willing to put 5k into this venture.

Email me if interested at admin@weminecoins.com

Just an FYI I have purchased 3 of these using OgNasty as escrow...I will update once the deal is complete.

Transaction completed successfully. Thanks   Smiley
Still 3 left willing to do escrow through OgNasty.
